You will enjoy this condo by yourself, as a couple, or with the Family..that is how wonderful Sanibel is... There is something for everyone!
My Husband and I grew up in the Midwest but we LOVE the Ocean! For years, Sanibel was our favorite vacation spot as a couple. Our family has grown and it still is our favorite place to vacation! The Ocean and all the nature is breathtaking..more so than any other place we have visited. One trip the kids found themselves swimming next to a dolphin! How extraordinary to swim with a dolphin in the wild! Another trip, the shelling was amazing! The kids found 16 starfish on the shore and other large & small shells. Every time we visit Sanibel, the vacation has a surprise for us which makes our visit Memorable
Jennifer Hogan purchased this condo in 2009
Loggerhead has on-site management and has security/property staff. This constant attention keeps Loggerhead a safe, clean and well-maintained property on Sanibel. The beach front of loggerhead is fabulous..the shells are plentiful and the waves are full enough that children of ALL ages can enjoy. We love Loggerhead's large heated pool. Even in peak season, a lounge chair can be found and laps can be swam at the pool. We have been visiting Sanibel for the last 20 years. The Ocean was awesome 20 years ago and is still awesome today. Loggerhead & Sanibel Island remains hassel-free, neat and friendly...With that kind of consistancy--we decided it was a good investment--We may move to Sanibel someday and come back to the Mid-West for a visit!
My Family has had some fun at Loggerhead! Loggerhead Cay Condo Complex's location on Sanibel is awesome! --One day we rode bikes over to the Lighthouse Pier. My husband & the Kids fished while I enjoyed the sun and inspecting the famous Light House. After they caught a few; we threw the fish in the cooler (every bike has a basket) and headed back. to Loggerhead. The kids cleaned the fish on the prep table next to the grill. We put the fillets on ice and rode up to Lazy Flamingo. The Lazy Flamingo prepared it to our liking..We all enjoyed our fresh fish with cold beverages.. Fun for the WHOLE family..memorable.. delicious!
I have stayed @ Loggerhead many times & #324 is by far the nicest one we have stayed in the complex. The condo is so clean and everything seems brand new...even the blankets and towels were deluxe! I felt like I was in a friend's home..Need to use an iron=Rowenta in the closet,
Decide u want to BBQ=BBQ utensils in the kitchen and steak knives! Having so many quality extras has not been my experience when renting other condos.
I enjoyed the privacy of the location. Most of the units w/ ocean view also have a Pool view. You could see the ocean from the lanai but not the pool. The pool has so much activity and can be so noisy, I was happy to not have to deal with all that sound while in our condo relaxing.
I thought the kitchen/bath redos were amazing. so many units have no additional space for groceries except the kitchen countertop....#324 had empty pull outs in the kitchen cabinets so all our groceries had a place. There are many appliances to make eating-in easy. We made waffles in the morning w/ the waffle maker, smoothies in the blender, burgers on the George Forman grill and garlic cheese bread in the toaster oven!
This kitchen is stocked...very rare! and I was impressed that there was a choice of stoneware and melamine in everything!
Plates/cups/bowls even wine and beer glasses in glass or plastic!
The master bath shower was all- tiled. It's a walk in. You could take a traditional shower or use the convertible shower head.
There was a built in bench. Easy to do. Sit on the bench and turn the converter to the hand held shower head and away you go. That shower stall was so big..3 people easily fit inside!! My 4 and 6 year old loved bathing in there!!
We saved so much money and time by renting this unit.
My husband and I normally rent bikes. Bikes were included.
Each evening we rent a movie. There was so many movies included in the condo...we never paid to rent one.
We just had such a nice time in this condo! we were so relaxed and at home there. It was so nice not to have to run out for the little things. all the extras seemed to be in a drawer or a closet.
We will return to this unit, no doubt!
This condo is well-maintained and very clean. It was a great home base for our two weeks on Sanibel. The owner was very helpful and responsive.
We enjoyed a beautiful, relaxing, awesome week in #324! We appreciated having the beach gear for shelling and enjoying the sun. The condo is well equipped, clean and quiet. The food on Sanibel is delicious and we especially enjoyed grouper at Doc Fords and Traders. The shelling here is amazing! I hope to come back next year!!
Our family of 5 plus my daughter's friend had an amazing time while staying in this fabulous condo! It was plenty large enough for all of us and was very clean and comfortable. We tried really hard to eat 2 meals in the condo and one meal out. This unit had everything we needed and then some to make this happen. My husband loved the gas grills available for our use. My daughter and friend enjoyed using the bikes to explore nearby shops. The beach was so close and convenient and absolutely stunning. We loved getting up early to watch the sun rise and look for shells. We saw dolphins playing in the water. My son enjoyed the video games in the evening and having wifi available in the condo was wonderful for all of us! I would highly recommend this unit and Jen was a pleasure to work with. We hope to come back sooner than later! Favorite vacation so far!
I've stayed in multiple units at Loggerhead Cay in the past and this one was by far the best. It is equipped with everything you need to make your stay a good one. The kitchen was better equipped than mine at home and we cooked all our meals there which was very nice. There were 6 of us but there was plenty of sleeping space with the twins and trundles in the 2nd bedroom. The owner went above and beyond to make our stay better. She arranged with her cleaning service to let us get in early and was in touch throughout the stay to make sure we didn't need anything (Thanks, Jen!) It was extremely nice to have beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and beach towels available for our use. The pool is wonderful if you are not an ocean swimmer. The unit was quiet as advertised and it was nice to sit out on the lanai after the day on the beach. I highly recommend this unit to anyone planning a trip to Sanibel. When we come back we'll definitely choose this unit again.
We very recently spent one week in Sanibel and were fortunate to stay in this beautiful condo. The location is great! This is our 4th time renting a condo for a vacation and I must say this was by far the best one we’ve stayed at. It really felt like we were staying in someone’s home. The kitchen had everything we needed – and then some – including a Keurig, blender, toaster, toaster oven, great cookware, and plenty of plates/glasses/silverware. This unit is on the top floor so you will either have to climb the stairs or use the elevator. The complex was very quiet. We did not use the pool, choosing to spend most of our days walking and lounging on the beach. The condo has everything you need for the beach – chairs, umbrellas, boogie, boards, some toys, etc. – and there is even a beach cooler on wheels which is nice for bringing drinks and snacks. You can leave your beach towels at home too, as these are also provided, but you will need to launder them before you leave. Speaking of which, I was able to do a load of laundry the day before we left and I must say it was nice to come home with a suitcase of clean clothes!
The Ding Darling Natural Wildlife Refuge is a must see. You can drive through it and pull over at any time (only $5/car) or you can go in as a pedestrian or ride bikes ($1/person). We also kayaked in Tarpon Bay and were at one point surrounded by dolphins – AMAZING!!! We had a great breakfast at The Over Easy Café, yummy hot dogs/fries at Schnapper’s, a good dinner at The Island Cow, and excellent grouper tacos (and deep fried pickle spears) at George and Wendy’s Seafood Grille. The remainder of our meals were made in the condo, which is something we enjoy doing. We used the gas grills a couple of nights, which worked great. We did stop at Publix for some groceries before getting into Sanibel, otherwise did our shopping at Jerry’s (Bailey’s is also a good option). We rented movies from Redbox, which is inside Jerry’s. Don’t forget to get some ice cream at Pinocchio’s!
We had a wonderful vacation and hope to return to this condo in the future, although next time need to stay longer! Thanks, Jen, for sharing your home!
Our family of 5 had a wonderful and relaxing vacation. The condo was clean and a short walk to the beach. The pool was heated and a great option. Our children (15, 13, and 10) had a great time exploring the island on bikes. We drove to Captiva and went parasailing. Excellent time!!! The only thing I didn't like was the second bedroom was really tight with a small couch and 2 day beds. The condo was well stocked and we would definitely stay again.
walk to tiki bars from beach. Both with lunch menus. Starfish cafe 5 buildings on right facing beach (Holiday INN) and Seaside cafe walk beach to left 4 buildings (seaside Inn)
