Your hosts are Lynn and Otto who manage the house and live on the farm just down the road.
This beautiful home was designed and built by Otto's late parents. The house was a center of family life during my parent's time there. The Northeast Kingdom, this part of Vermont where we are located, is a place that must be experienced to be appreciated.
What a gem this farmhouse is! The house is bright, cheerful and spacious, and has everything you'd need or want to enjoy your stay. Beautiful sunrises and gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside in peak fall foliage. Our hosts were great with communications and very happy to work with our late arrival and checkout. The house had all the amenities that you'd expect and few that you you would not. Once we arrived, we did not want to leave. We were only a few miles from St. Johnsbury where we found delicious local fare at the farmer's market, and a local diner. Be sure to visit the St Johnsbury Art Anthenaeum (free at the library) for an incredible collection of canvas paintings and the wildlife museum ($6) with the most taxidermy animals that I've seen in one location. Both are fantastic and 10-15 minutes from the house.
Beautiful property and views. Very peaceful and quiet, a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Home was very clean, well maintained and very comfortable. We would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend!
While just four of us stayed at this comfortable, charming home, the entire family gathered in Vermont made it the "hang out" place & dinner, brunch locations. It was so roomy and open, everybody had plenty of space, but we were all together and enjoying holiday cheer. I could go on-and-on about the hospitality of the Wurzburgs- they were so accommodating and provided us with the freshest eggs we've ever tasted! It's our plan to stay at this location any time we visit our family in Northern Vermont!
We had such a fabulous time and the home was exactly that - a home. Hours could be wasted snuggled up in front of the log burner just looking at the view. Otto and Lynn made sure nothing was too much trouble and we had everything we needed. Thank you very very much
Wonderfully comfortable and spacious home in a fantastic country setting. The kitchen has everything and we enjoyed being there so much we cooked all our meals. Otto and Lynn were very helpful and friendly and gave us yummy treats from their garden. The property is expansive and great for hiking and exploring. The night sky was amazing. Ideal house for a gathering of family and friends.
We have a great time in Vermont staying at this beautiful farmhouse. The location was convenient to skiing at Burke Mountain (15-20 minutes) and the area / views were outstanding. Otto and Lynn, who own the house, live right down the street and could not have been nicer giving us a quick tour of the house as we arrived along with some fresh maple syrup, invited our kids come see their chickens, sheep and geese.
The house is in great shape. There is plenty of room, extremely clean and it is stocked with different activities for the kids both inside (board games, DVD) and outside (logging trails) on the property. It was a great time and we look forward to coming back.
