Intermountain Chalet Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, one bath, sleeps 1-4 people

Vail best kept secret private retreat.

This is the perfect romantic getaway, or simply if you are looking for a quiet and serene place to enjoy your vacation and/or even for seclusion for silent meditation retreat. Le refuge is surrounded by beautiful trees, and sits by the Gold Medal Gore Creek. There is off street parking available. This is a non smoking lock off apartment in a private chalet. You have your own entrance with about 900 square feet of space. The bedrooms have one queen size and one king size bed with Tempurpedic mattresses. There is a dining room, one bathroom, a wood burning stove in the cozy living room, a big screen TV, wireless internet access, and a modern fully appointed kitchen with granite counter tops.

Our unique retreat offers a lovely and cozy experience, it is very clean. You will feel home away from home.

If you are interested in staying healthy while away from home, i do offer private restorative yoga lesson, guidded mindfulness meditation, massage therapy and organic prepared meals. It is really quiet and there are many places on the property for you to enjoy the sun, the trees, the soothing sound of the creek. You will sleep like a log! Hammocks await for you by the creek for a late afternoon nap!

I fell in love with the house because it is on the Gore creek and surrounded by beautiful old trees. Our street dead ends so there is not a lot of traffic. If you want to be off the beaten path, then Intermountain is the place, yet it is close to the stores and restaurants, parks and bike path, hiking trails.

Vail is a worldwide vacation destination. I love cultural diversity here which attracts talents from all over the world , outdoor concerts, musical ,visual, culinary arts, Teva games, and more, it keeps our town rocking all summer long . The bravo series brings in world class talent, as well as the International dance festival, just to name a few.Vail farmers market on Sundays in the summer is an attraction too! There is always something fun and interesting, going on...

.During winter ,the skiing is amazing with great powder snow.

Never bored enjoying life no matter what season it is.

About Nathalie Nguyen

Hi, i was born in France and move to the States in the 80s.

i love living in the mountains. I raised 2 boys who are now young adults and turned the house into a wellness retreat.

i am passionate about what i do which is teaching people to access their full potential to live a peaceful life and create their own happiness. i use the modalities of mindfulness meditation, restorative yoga, massage therapy, energy work and organic, non GMO nutritional cuisine cooking. I love skiing powder snow. Surfing and hanging by the creek in the hammock in summer time.

Nathalie Nguyen purchased this chalet in 1991

Why Nathalie Nguyen chose West Vail

the location is very conducive to create a peaceful environment. The house sits on the creek and the sound of water is really wonderful . you can totally be secluded here and yet be close to everything.

What makes this chalet unique

Benefits of staying here, there are onsite therapies available , should you want to include wellness during your stay. I offer massage therapy, guided mindfulness meditation and restorative yoga. Being a chef as well , when time permits i cater as well as teach cooking . Cooking to me is preventive medicine. I am skilled in traditional, vegetarian, raw cuisine, in the summer i grow an organic non gmo veggie garden, which you are more than welcome to use.i was also a ski instructor for 15 years so i can help you if you have any questions about the Vail mountain. In the summer you can fly fish right out of the front porch. It is a quiet place, for people who enjoy a slower pace of living.

A quite comfy retreat

  • 5 of 5

Nathalie wants your stay to be comfortable and ours was. Plenty of room for 4. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking breakfast and dinner. The tempurpedic mattresses on the beds were a treat. The ipod dock let us have our music with us. We took advantage of a massage and it was delightful - and, located just up the stairs from the apartment. The wood burning stove came in handy during the evening. The unit is very clean and everything was well maintained. A very cozy unit for a good price. We will return.

Peaceful and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week staying at 'Le Refuge.' It perfectly located in West Vail and so very cozy. Very close to the grocery stories is a plus. Nat is just so kind a very gracious host and I might add an excellent massage therapist!

The wood burning stove is so cozy in the evening after a day of skiing. Every thing you need to prepare meals are in the well stocked kitchen. Nat is very available for any questions or needs via text message. Be prepared for the stairs.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was really nice. Everything you could have wanted was available and Nathalie left food and beverages for us in case we needed it. The location is super convenient for skiing as it's just a short walk to the bus stop. The unit got really warm and has a nice fireplace to help warm it up even more. Bathroom was spacious and the shower worked well.

A surprising oasis with all the amenities

  • 5 of 5

We have rented through Homeaway, VRBO and other agencies for 25 years. This is one of the best equipped places we have ever rented. It is common to come into places that don't even have salt, pepper and sugar. Here instead, the pantry was well stocked with not only the basics, but also a wide variety of things that you might want.

Knowing the frequent lack of equipment, we travel with a knife, cutting board, cheese grater, corkscrew and salad spinner. Nothing was missing here, I felt like I was in my own kitchen.

Now we were here in August, so I can't say how the apartment will serve someone who has come in for skiing. It is a short walk to the bus stop, but we had a car, so we didn't use the bus.

My wife has a bad knee, so the 38 steps up to the parking from the apartment were a real effort for her. Suffice to say she declared the apartment worth the climb. And since the parking is above the apartment, when you return at night, it's all downhill to bed.

The bed is great, the apartment though not huge is ample, the bathroom is great, the second bedroom would make the place fine for 4 people who were willing to share a bathroom. The view of the creek from the deck is fabulous, you feel like you're in nature even though there are other houses and apartments around.

A word about the freeway. It is close to the apartment. There isn't much in Vail that is truly away from the freeway. But we, who are pretty sensitive to road noise, were not bothered by the freeway at all.

Finally Nathalie is a treasure. She is ready to help in all things, available virtually at the same moment you send a text message. Moreover she is an excellent masseuse according to the woman who knows massage well (from the receiving end).

Highly recommended, just don't rent it when I need it.

Awesome Mountain Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Wish I could give 10 stars! Everything was perfect. Nathalie makes the difference. It is close to the bus stop, easy to get to from the I-70, easy access to the local establishments. The property was very clean and well-maintained. You cannot go wrong.
