Please read this whole description, I am an experienced owner and I cover a lot of different scenarios including how to save a lot of money in air fares and military discounts. So read all this please.

In the event your group has more than 10 persons up to 20 persons you may consider renting the Stone House (this house) plus the adjacent Trail House homeaway #190679. They are not internally connected but are convenient to go between. This will give you five bathrooms, two kitchens, two washer/dryer units, six bedrooms, plus three sofa beds and two day beds. This will provide you with more space, and can help make your San Antonio Vacation Experience more comfortable. This is specially suitable for 5 to 6 couples. Contact me if this situation applies to you. All of my homes are within 4 blocks of each other so there are many alternatives to address your space needs or your small group.

Traveler Tip #1: If coming by air to San Antonio, please also price flying to Austin, Texas and going back to Austin when leaving, renting a car in Austin and driving to San Antonio. Many of my Guests who have done this have told me they save an average of $150.00 per person. So if you are traveling as a group of 8 persons you can save about $1200.00 which could be applied to cover a huge amount of the cost of my rental to you for your trip. Built in savings like that is truly a good thing!

Traveler Tip #2: When renting a car, make an early reservation and watch the prices about every ten days, if your price goes down, cancel the first reservation and make a new one. Car and truck rental prices are determined on the futures market, and has nothing to do with the day you reserve. Futures markets change often and so thus do the prices of their cars to you.

This home (Stone House) is available for monthly rentals at $2500.00 per month (no hotel tax 30 nights or longer stays) plus $60.00 weekly maid service= $2740.00. The HomeAway and VRBO pricing engines does not allow us to accurately quote this flat rate.

Step in to your very own private rental Home with a lovely peninsula Kitchen and Great room, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. This home is completely furnished, and includes an intruder alarm system, bedding, towels and linens, dishes and pots and pans, washer and dryer and ice maker refrigerator, telephone service, lawn service, cable modem and expanded cable television in all bedrooms and living room!

The home has all ceramic tile floors. Two tub/shower bathrooms plus three bedrooms all with queen beds. During the summer of 2013 the home was redecorated with accent paint colors; at the same time we replaced the carpet in the bedrooms with ceramic tile.

The living room has a new 39 inch LCD television. As an added special feature we also provide complimentary Netflix and other internet channels on the Living Room flat screen TV! There is a double bed sleep sofa in the living room plus a double bed sleep sofa in the convertible space next to the kitchen, so the home will sleep up to 5 persons at one to a bed, and up to 10 persons at two to a bed.

Owner Jim Smith moved to San Antonio in 2004 from Washington, DC where he spent most of his adult career as a Realtor, Home Builder, and later as a Building and Zoning Code Consultant. In the earlier years Jim spent his free time as a Special Olympics County Coordinator in Maryland (7 years) where he set up a county Special Olympics program which almost five hundred Special Olympians spread around 35 schools. Later, he spent his free time as a community activist, being the President or Board or Committee Member of scores of community interest groups including his civic association, and also served on several Washington, DC Mayoral Commissions including the Building Code Advisory Board (8 years) and the Recreational Trails Commission which decided where to spend public transportation funds for recreational trails in Washington, DC (6 years). The fast pace and hypertension of Washington, DC was too much to bear, so Jim transplanted himself to San Antonio, Texas. In San Antonio, Jim has remodeled six properties, including his home and five other rental properties that are fully furnished. The furniture and interiors were selected for each home by Jim and his sister, Jan, and the results are fine rental accommodation that are reasonable in cost. Jim's full time job is making Guests comfortable, and helping them navigate San Antonio to its many attractions and restaurants. This adventure for Jim has been anything but a progression for retirement, having 14 bathrooms, 19 bedrooms, 26 beds, six sleep sofas, six kitchens, four pools and five hot tubs keeps him totally busy 24/7.

The home is near the airport and North Star Mall, just one mile to the 281 communter freeway downtown. The neighborhood is in the demographic center of San Antonio as is the International Airport, so getting around is very fast. Also the homes are less than two blocks from retail and food locations, the commuter skip bus stop is one or two blocks away depending uon which home your staying in, convenient to get downtown on public transportation.

To Jim, San Antonio offers magical things that cannot be found quite the same anyplace else, such as the River Walk, the magnificant dining, the attractions such as the Alamo, the cultural events, the happy visitors, and the spontaneous, friendly folk of San Antonio. Even though San Antonio has a few nights of colder weather, Jim was attracted to San Antonio for its HOT weather, where for most of the year you must dress casual to survive, and where except for a dozen or so nights per year does the temperature go below 30 at night.

Excellent Vacation House for big groups or families!

The house worked perfectly for us, it has ample space, and really great wide open rooms to relax after long days of walking in San Antonio. Everything was as described in the rental description and the instructions for taking care of the house are straightforward and simple which is a huge blessing! Jim is a wonderful manager who cares deeply about his community and about his guests. He gave me lots of great options for food and excellent advice on the surrounding areas which we took advantage of! He was also very flexible with our incoming and outgoing schedules which helped us in returning rental cars and getting to the airport on time. Everyone who stayed greatly enjoyed the house and if we all end up making it down to San Antonio again would definitely stay there again!

When the quality of service they expect is met, they are satisfied so in most instances do not feel that a review is necessary. You have stepped up beyond the ordinary. Thanks for the detail in your comments. But some Guests who are seeking some kind or refund or cost adjustment for whatever reasons, or who are just mean, do not hesitate to leave a bad or negative review. In most cases a negative review is triggered by a single issue or incident. These issues are usually easily satisfied if the Guest will express to the Host (me) any issues that need attention at once, and to not carry them. Share your issues! Since I live within 4 blocks of all my homes, I can easily and quickly attend to any of my Guests needs. Unlike most Hosts, my full time occupation is to my 5 vacation rental homes. They are not perfect, but they are clean and reasonably priced. In addition, I personally meet all my Guests, and show them how the home operates. Plus I take extra care to present a neighborhood and city map to my Guests to show them how to navigate to grocers, restaurants, attractions, Riverwalk, public transportation, etc., and answer any questions they may have. I also provide a lot of tips for places to visit based upon my Guests needs or interests. It is my job to make your San Antonio experience memorable and comfortable. (Incidentally, my homes are all located within two blocks of city bus routes. They are also convenient to downtown, the airport, and all attractions.)

We were very pleased with our stay in this home!

We were very happy with our stay, the house had enough space for all nine of us to enjoy our vacation. The house was very clean and stocked with all the necessities we needed for the week. The kids loved the pool area. We felt safe in the neighborhood, the grocery store was right up the street and for the shoppers a mall less than 5 mins away. We were less than twenty mins away from six flags which is where we spent the week. I loved feeling like I was in a home with my family instead of cramped in a hotel. I'd definitely recommend this property to my friends and family!! Thanks for everything you helped us make memories we'll never forget!!

Wonderful house

We enjoyed our stay in this house very much. The house was clean and large enough for our family. The pool and the play area were a big hit with the kids! The owner gave us tips of places to eat and shop and he was very hospitable. We would stay in this house again if we were ever in San Antonio again.

We were very pleased with our stay at this property. We were in San Antoniio to attend my son's graduation from BMT at Lackland. We have a large family as well as a few friends that came along with us to celebrate this great accomplishment. This home was perfect for our stay. The property was conveniently located (close to grocery stores, the highway and shopping) and about 15-20 minutes from Lackland. The owner was very helpful and gave us a lot of information about the area and what to expect at BMT. All basic amenities were on hand at (pots, pans, clean linens, etc). This home was ideal for relaxing and spending quality time as a family. The price was great and the property is well kept and CLEAN!!!! (The home is a little bit older but is in great shape overall!) If we are ever back in the area we will be staying at this property.
