Aloha! We are a laid back, retired couple enjoying life at home in beautiful Kailua. We like to play tennis.

After our children left for college, we thought it would be nice and fun to share our home with like people who enjoy vacationing in the most beautiful place in Hawaii.

Why Ron chose Kailua

This is our family home in the best, most convenient location of Kailua, an upscale beachside community. It is famous as one of the Conde Naste top 10 beaches in the world, where Presicent Obama vacations, the new winter white house.

It is half way between the beach and Kailua town with the shops and restaurants.

We are only 3 blocks, a short leisurely walk to the beach and 3 blocks to Starbucks, Fat Boy's (gourmet, fast food restaurant), Formaggio's wine restaurant, supermarket and other fine shopping, Whole Foods. Down to Earth- vegetarian health food store.

What makes this studio unique

We have an excellent location in a great upscale safe residential neighborhood. There is a beautiful Mountain View. We have free high-speed Wi-Fi, free bike use, and a pay washer and dryer in our home. We have air conditioning and a ceiling fan, your choice.

Our kids would walk or ride their bikes down to the beach, or 3.5 blocks to the public Olympic size pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, gym and public library. They have volleyball, basketball and badminton free play, just call Kailua Recreation center for days and times.

Join the tennis Kailua gang Mon. to Fri. 7:15-9:30am. Just go to courts 1 & 2 and ask to join in. Everyone who comes is welcome.

Thursdays 9-10am is the Farmers' Market 2 blks away for local fruits, pineapples, veggies and tropical flowers.

This is the best launching spot for the perfect Hawaii vacation.

Just the mountain view every day was worth the price!

This way exceeded our expectations. It was even nicer than the photos.

It was very very clean and had wonderful amenities. We enjoyed the view everyday.

It really felt like a Hawaiian vacation.

What a great experience!

It was everything we expected for a "Homeaway!" Private, quiet, close to everything we wanted to do. Most mornings I walked five minutes to the beach for sunrise--I took a hundred or more photos over the week--followed by coffee and a yogurt bowl at Kalapawai Market.

Downtown Kailua is just a few blocks the other direction with all types of restaurants, grocery stores, boutiques and services.

The unit was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed.

Off-street parking is definitely a bonus.

This is our third trip to Kailua, but the first where we have had to find our own accommodations. We usually stay with our daughter.

The weather this trip was particularly hot and humid, but the windows, fans and air-conditioning helped keep this unit comfortable.

The lanai was a great place to relax and enjoy the mountain view.

If you want a quiet location away from the non-stop activity in Waikiki, this is definitely the place to consider.

We will be back again!

Great Unit and Location!

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and we are so happy that we chose this rental in Kailua. We enjoyed a wonderful week-long stay in the B2 unit. The unit was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The rental is well-stocked with basic kitchen items (we cooked breakfast each morning), and beach gear: towels, mats, chairs, coolers, boogie boards, etc. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the unit includes a big walk-in closet, great for storing luggage and hanging clothes. The AC, wifi, and all appliances worked great. The view from the balcony is gorgeous. We had a rental car and were able to easily access other areas of the island such as the North Shore. We also had a lot of fun in Kailua: kayaking between Kailua Beach, Lanikai Beach, and the islands; Lanikai Pillbox hike; Maunawili Falls hike; the farmer's Market on Thursday evening, and Cinnamon's restaurant. We would be happy to stay here again in the future.

Great Value. Would Rent It Again!

The unit was exactly as described. The pictues truly represented exactly what you get. The unit was VERY clean. It is not a brand new home/apartment. But neither does it have the cost of a brand new resort. It was a great value. The written instructions/expectations of the owners were helpful so you know what you need to know about the unit. The location of Kailua gets you away from the horrible traffic of Honolulu and Waikiki, yet it is in a good location for many things you want to do. In Kailua it is relatively close to the town center. It is a long three blocks to Kailua beach, but it is very walkable -- we walked it twice. But, to enjoy Oahu, I would strongly suggest a rental car. (BTW, get the Gypsy Guide App for Oahu and enjoy the island with your personal tour guide, via Gypsy Guide...need a car!). Also if you want good reasonably priced food, try Teddy's Burgers, Maui Mikes (for chicken), and Aloha Salads (great salad with fresh premium ingredients) . . . all in Kailua.

Great location...

The property is close to what Kailua has to offer - stores, restaurants. The beach is a bit of a hike but you can bike to Kailua beach. We preferred driving to Lanikai beach and spending more beach time there.

The property met what we needed given we were out and about the whole time we were in HI.

I only have limited negatives - it took us a while to find the mailbox. Part of this is there is no clear instruction on its location. Another part is lack of lighting. I didn't like the part though that we were walking in the dark coming back. The ground lights are very inconsistent. Sometime it is on, more often it's not which to me introduces safety risk.

Other than that, we had a great time for what we needed it for.

Great unit and location

This unit had all conveniences we needed and conveniently located to town and beach. Great mountain view from balcony. One unanticipated feature, however, is that the balcony is not private, as it is also the access for the neighboring unit.
