Beautiful Studio with lap pool & spectacular views!! This cozy Studio is a 15 min. drive from all of San Diego’s attractions. We are located 12 miles east of San Diego within 1/4 mile from major freeways. The airport, beaches, Zoo, Sea World, Balboa Park, downtown are all near by. This is truly America’s finest city! This one Bedroom studio with full bath is within the wooded area of Mt. Helix. The bedroom has a comfortable queen bed with a seating area and a large walk in closet. This property is very private with quiet surroundings, lots of places to sit and enjoy the garden or the early morning wildlife. Walk out onto the porch which over looks the pool and amazing views of the hillsides of Mt. Helix. This one acre property & studio is adjacent to my private home. Property is shared with myself & I'm usually on the property most of the time. You have your own private entrance & parking space. Studio has limited kitchenette with frig/frez, coffee maker a microwave & crock-pot for cooking. Small sink with plenty of kitchen supplies. If you plan on doing a lot of cooking this Kitchenette might not work for you. No laundry facilities but there is a laundry matt a few blocks down the street. When you visit San Diego you will appreciate why it’s called “Americas Finest City” but cost also comes with that. When you come to sunny La Mesa you’ll enjoy the savings on your accommodations & see sunshine everyday!
Be sure to visit the top of Mt. Helix for a 360 degree view of San Diego.
Visit La Mesa's quaint little village! Enjoy downtown La Mesa which is known as the 'Jewel of the Hills.' A near perfect climate, tree-lined streets, with a quaint downtown village. Visit the Farmers' Market; which is a tradition on Friday afternoons.

Mt. Helix/La Mesa is a very beautiful area! Most homes were built between 1940’s – 1956 so they have a lot of charm & old character.
The small shopping strip & restaurants in downtown La Mesa is a great way to spend an afternoon or a stop at the winery. Weather is always fabulous!
I feel in love with this beautiful property from the first time I found it. I'm sure you will love it as much as I do!! The views are wonderful!! Open your door & fall a sleep with the stillness & the sound of the pond, it is very relaxing!
Julie is a great hostess and property is absolutely lovely. The little studio is pristine and comfortable. The bed is on the firm side. Julie does clearly spell out the rules and expects people to abide by them. I am very good with that - some may not be. The price for this property is a real deal. As with most Homeaway rentals there is a check out list. If you are not physically able or prefer not to do any clean up then I would suggest a hotel. If you want an absolutely lovely property complete with orange trees and pool without paying resort prices or dealing with the crowd then I would hands down recommend this beautiful property. The decor includes some Kokopellis which as a Christian I do not prefer but is probably a non-issue to most. The color scheme and furnishings are rich and comfortable. We would stay again. My stay at Julie's home was just fabulous!!! The description and place is exactly as the owner describes it. Julie's place is a complete oasis!! She has made the pool area and grounds so serene and peaceful that you truly feel as if you've escaped your busy life and slipped away to a piece of heaven on earth. Julie was very friendly and offered to get me any information I needed. The oranges picked right from the tree during February were an added lovely bonus!! I will definitely stay at Julie's again and will recommend her lovely home to others, although I hate to do that as I want to keep the lovely place to myself! :) Thanks for a wonderful stay, Julie!! :)
My daughter works close by this property and I needed a place that was convenient for her to come and visit with me. This worked out very well. The unit was very nice and comfortable and suited me just fine. It is very clean and well maintained. I loved sitting out on the patio and enjoying the early mornings with coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon. The soothing sounds of the water fountains added to the serenity of the area. I had no trouble getting around to the stores as needed. I would definitely consider a return visit!
Upon arrival at the property I was swept away. So close to down town yet- just far enough away to enjoy the bright stars and the incredible moon rise! Very peaceful setting. The pool was sparkling clean. Very well maintained property.
The landscaping was breathtaking. Very comfy bed and room was clean. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to my next visit.
First let me begin by saying, I would definitely recommend this property to absolutely anyone. The homeowner goes above and beyond to provide a great experience. She was always available to answer questions and really goes that extra mile to make sure your stay is the best it can be. The property was exceptionally maintained well as the interior of the home. The pool was so great to have access to and the pond provided a magical background noise; very quiet property. One great thing I enjoyed was that it's centrally located to everything: Downtown La Mesa, Downtown San Diego, etc. Thanks for allowing me to stay! I will definitely be choosing this property again on my next vacation.
My wife and I spent a week at this studio vacation rental and found it to be similar to spending a few days with old friends, but with a difference. When you stay with old friends, you want to show your appreciation for their hospitality and leave everything as you find it and perfect. However, in this case the landlady (Julie) is not an old friend and you are paying full market rent for a vacation rental, but she expects you to leave it as you find it including maid service! The studio is nice, but nothing special and Julie is nice, but not able to resolve our concerns about lack of air conditioning from 6 p.m. to 10 a.m. every day (turned off by the electricity provider to save money for the owner) or the lack of consistent hot water during showers (due to inadequate tankless water heater performance). Julie’s requirements for her customers are not appealing to us (must be barefoot when in the unit, must not be barefoot outside the unit, must wash all dishes used before leaving, must vacuum the carpets before leaving, must take out all trash from the unit before leaving, must strip bed and put sheets and bath linens in basket before leaving, must scrub kitchen and bathroom fixtures before leaving). And this is a vacation rental! I think we will look elsewhere next time. Sorry this is harsh, but it is true.
