The "Call of the Loon" cottage is a very romantic Maine cottage in a beautiful setting right on Rangeley Lake. This is a great get-away you will never forget. Enjoy all the fun and amenities the Rangeley Lakes Region has to offer or just kick back and relax on the hammock between 2 birch trees right at the lakes edge. This is a 4 season cottage you can come to any time of year. Whether you like to swim, boat, ski, golf, hunt, hike, snowmobile, or just take in the beauty, it's all here for you to enjoy.
At night, relax by the campfire at the lake's edge while the moon rises over the lake and sparkles the water. Enjoy the yard by the lake and view Saddleback Mountain rising over the lake above Bonney Point. In the morning enjoy breakfast at the table by the windows overlooking the lake less then 50 feet from you. It's all here for you, your family and friends. Children will never forget this vacation. We hope you will visit and enjoy the beauty of nature in the Rangeley Lakes Region.
I own a company that installs telephone systems and I really enjoy the opportunity to break loose and enjoy the beauty of nature and all it has to offer. I have been visiting the Rangeley and Oquossoc area for my entire life. My family has been visiting Rangeley for 4 generations. I enjoy skiing, boating, hiking and just relaxing with friends and family in a great setting. That's why I come to my "Call of the Loon" cottage where you can have it all and even hear the loon's call right out front on the lake.

We went to Call of the Loon to celebrate my 50th birthday. My one birthday request to my family of 4 (including 2 teenage daughters) was that we "unplug" for the long weekend. No electronics, including no phones, TV, or music.
Although the cottage came equipped with electronics (and a huge tv!), Call of the Loon allowed us to slow down, to sit for hours and take in the gorgeous and colorful fall leaves, the loons, the ducks, the sunrises, the stars. Call of the Loon allowed us to fully relax, read, take naps on the cozy couches, play games, sit by the outside fire as the sun set. Call of the Loon encouraged us to drink coffee on the deck in the am and wine in the pm (adults only!). Call of the Loon provided the opportunity for us to slow down, be mindful, be grateful and appreciate the present moment. BEST location for such a celebration! Thanks, Brad!
This cottage was perfect in every way for our family get away. Easy swimming, incredible views, close to great hikes and walking distance to Oquossoc. The house was very clean, well appointed and has everything you need. Thanks for letting us share such a great place. Josh
Just returned from a three night stay at the Call of the Loon Cabin and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing vacation! This cabin is absolutely perfect in every way, from the cozy bed rooms (and very comfortable bed, which we find is hard to find when vacationing!!) to the stunning views from both inside and outside of this cabin!
The sun rise at around 4:14 a.m. is well worth getting up for and the sunset is just as stunning!
I would highly recommend this cabin and guarantee you will not be disappointed!
As far as the area within walking distance down the street is the general store which has delicious pizza and sandwiches, as well as the best homemade pies!!! ( Sorry Mom!)
Also two great restaurants, and a lobster pound which we totally took advantage of!
We cant wait to go back ! Thank you Brad for opening up your wonderful cabin to us and will defiantly return soon!
We stayed here with our family for 5 days around peak foliage time! The views were breathtaking across the lake to the mountains and the tranquility was mesmorizing. We comfortably slept 6, plus a baby in a pack-n-play with wonderful "cabin-like" accomodations. I loved being able to walk to downtown Oquossoc and shop in the quaint stores for memorabilia!! Hiking trails are only short drives, downtown Rangeley less than 10 minutes and several "look outs" along the highway allowed for perfect foliage pictures! Thank you for a wonderful, cozy and relaxing place to stay!
Beautiful home on the lake ,,,comfy ,,with a non stop view,,,clear water,,loons,,boating,,swimming or just sitting on the dock relaxing,,we were so pleased. We went to The Gingerbread House for a delicious meal. Into Rangely for a coffee and treat at Inner Eye . Shops'.were nice. The Farmers Daughter had produce and the most delicious pie,,,so much more,,Thank you Brad,,,We will come back,,,:)
Had a wonderful stay. A great place to home base for long drives viewing foliage and moose! The spotty weather did not deter us at all. Used the canoe and kayak. The views were great and atmosphere relaxing and quiet.
My only suggestion is to add wi-fi to the cottage which would have made our daily trip planning easier.
