Awesome views, no neighbors, comfortable home away from home
I couldn't have asked for a more accommodating place for our stay. Mark was great to work with and responsive to our needs. Close to town but far enough away from neighbors to have a country feel. Will definitely stay here again.
Thanks for your stay and review. Always a pleasure to have repeat guests!
Great place to stay
We loved the place, great view, open floor plan was conducive to family time. We would stay there again in a heart beat.
Lovely location, clean and comfortable home, convenient to Makawao, Paia, and Haleakala
This property was incredibly clean, well furnished and comfortable. We enjoyed lovely views from the great room and lanai. The kitchen was great for cooking as a family; It was well appointed, scrupulously clean, nice appliances. We ate on the lanai half the time, nice outdoor table and chairs, such great rainbows every morning, view of the ocean. We never turned on the TV, which was state of the art. We read and chatted in the evening, those sofas were so inviting. Washer/dryer was a nice touch, much appreciated. There was an additional suite on the ground floor that looked very well done, making this home perfect for an extended family or larger group.
The weather in Makawao was cooler than most of Maui, and we did NOT miss A/C. Ceiling fans and open windows created a cool breeze by day, and we actually slept under cozy blankets at night because it was so deliciously cool.
Makawao is a very short walk, and the Rodeo General Store supplied last minute additions to dinner. Paia was a short drive, as was Haiku. We had our choice of grocery stores as well. Lots of wonderful restaurants in both Makawao and Paia: Wooden Crate, Cafe Mambo, not to be missed! Ho'okipa Beach and Baldwin's Beach were our favorites for sand and waves.
The owner was easy to work with, very responsive to questions.
This is a nicely located, very good value, well done home for an upcountry experience.
So nice to hear when guests enjoy their stay! The sunny days and cool evenings that Makawao offers make for an idyllic climate and Pookela Paradise is front and centre on the rainbow views when morning rain clouds hover over Haiku while Makawao remains in the sunshine. That’s why a rainbow 🌈 is a part of our logo.
