About Maria Bucaro

This property is owned and operated by the Center for Reuniting Families, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

On November 15, 1994, the The Center for Reuniting Families was incorporated as a non-profit educational organization with the following purpose:

In addition to our core goals, at Dancing Deer Farm we provide a venue and shared resources to other non profit organizations who address the challenges of creating ecologically and economically vibrant and healthy families and communities. Through these collaborative efforts, CRF is a center for education, research, and demonstration to develop strategies for a sustainable future.

Totally enjoyed our Managers retreat, Dancing Deer Farm is a great place to have it. The facility is very comfortable and clean, a fabulous kitchen, with a large meeting room. And the farm itself is in a private setting. The people are professional, and polite.

We highly recommend them for your events.

Very satisfied

  • 5 of 5

The property was perfect for our large family gathering together for a wedding at a local winery. There were 16 of us from different parts of the country and staying in one location made the weekend even better. The property was as advertised and we would stay again.

Perfect place for an intimate breathtaking wedding

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I searched everywhere for an affordable wedding venue that we could host our families for the weekend and that embodied what we enjoy the most in our lives - the outdoors! Dancing Deer Farm was the perfect place. First of all, the property is gorgeous, with so much wildlife and far away from the city lights so you can see an incredible amount of stars in the sky at night. We got married there in late February and the weather was perfect (mid 70s), not to mention the hills and trees were all really green (it's more brown in the summer, but still beautiful). We rented both the houses (Hacienda and Country) and the barn. There was plenty of room to easily accommodate 25 people in the Hacienda and lots of room in the country house for last minute guests. Everyone commented on how beautiful the houses and venue were and we had absolutely no complaints about anything with the houses. Maria, the property manager was super helpful and invested in making sure our wedding weekend was up to our expectations. I have to give a shout out to our caterers and the rental company we worked with because they were all amazing and know how to work with the venue now if you're looking for a seamless wedding experience. We had Gusto-on-the-Go cater our rehearsal dinner on the property, Stein's BBQ catered the wedding and SLO Party Rentals brought in our dance floor, Photo Booth and other rentals to the property.

Almost everything exceeded our expectations except for 2 things which other people considering a wedding there should know - 1. We were told the amplified music had to be shut off at 10pm due to a noise ordinance/to be respectful to the neighbors. I completely understood this rule going into the wedding but around 9:30pm there were apparently complaints about the noise level and we were told to turn down the music early. Everyone was having so much fun and that was a little upsetting because if I am told 10pm, I don't expect to have to cut my wedding short because of neighbor complaints. 2. We were informed that those not staying on the property needed to vacate the premises after the wedding. This ended up being disappointing because we wanted to hang out at the venue with some of our guests and were told they needed to be gone at 10pm which I originally thought they'd be allowed to stay later as long as we weren't loud. Personally, paying to rent out the property I think should entitle one to having some extra visitors until midnight.

Owner's Response: Thank you for so many kind words, Vanessa! You were a beautiful bride and I loved your "style" of wedding! Everyone seemed to have a great time! I am sorry for the misunderstanding on the music. I was not asking your DJ to stop the music at 9:30, just reminding him that the DJ music stops at 10:00, as well as requesting the doors to be kept closed and the volume turned down a bit. Guests who are staying on the property are welcome stay and party in the barn as long as they long as it is quiet. Guests who are not staying on the property are asked to leave by 11:00 PM. I am sorry there was a misunderstanding with the times - Maria

With the coast only a 30-minute drive away, you can easily visit the beach for surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and parasailing in Morro Bay, Cayucos or Cambria. And just north of that, visit the elephant seals and Hearst Castle in San Simeon!

If you are here during the summer months, the Mid State Fair in Paso Robles is always a favorite activity, and easy to get to at only 8 miles away! Head south 30 minutes into San Luis Obispo for more central coast fun, including hiking some of the Seven Sisters of San Luis Obispo - our famous peaks of volcanic remains!

We have hot springs just a few miles away, and on site healing practitioners offering a variety of healing modalities, so if you'd like to ensure your stay is relaxing and rejuvenating, we've got you covered!

And if you like good food and good wine - this is the destination for you! With nearly 200 wineries in the county (two are directly across the street from us!), and a farmer's market almost every day, your taste sensations will be pampered and nourished! You are even encouraged to visit our 1-acre organic garden, talk to our farmer interns, and sample some of our seasonal harvest.

If lake activities are your thing, it is a short drive to several area lakes: Santa Margarita, Nacimiento and San Antonio. Enjoy fishing, camping and boating activities!

Take some time to appreciate our state's history with visits to some of the original California missions - Mission San Antonio de Padua, Mission San Miguel Arcangel, Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and Mission La Purisima Concepcion are all within driving distance.

Come let us show why some have called this the Happiest Place in America!
