Incredible family vacation house!

  • 5 of 5

We can't say enough about how perfect this cabin was for our big family vacation! With about 20 adults and 10 kids running around it never, ever felt crowded in this spacious home! Everyone of us had an amazing time from hanging in the kitchen cooking, eating and laughing, the game room was a hit and the spa in the evening after a long day of playing in the snow was the cherry on top of a perfect day! We absolutely cannot wait to come back and do it all over again next year! Thank you for being so accommodating, we had the most magnificent time!

Pretty good with a couple wishes

  • 4 of 5

The resort was fairly pleasant. We had a group of 30 people stay the night. I wouldn't hesitate to book this place but I will list some cons.

Cons:

- Communication via email is patchy once you book the place. I had a few questions and the owner never got back to me.

- Garbage is off site. It was a little difficult to find the place and I wish that they provided a map to the location.

- A welcome packet with details - wifi password, reiterating the rules/requirements, etc. would have been nice.

- Maybe the carpet is just old but it looked very grimy.

- Don't use Waze to locate this place. Use google maps.

Pros:

- Spacious, AC worked well, and the jacuzzi was nice.

- Plentiful parking and the lodge is isolated from other houses

- House was well stocked with garbage bags, soap, spices, dishes, etc.

- The representative was very accommodating and responded to texts/phone calls immediately.

- Vons/Starbucks are nearby!

Owner's Response: If you didn't get a question answered you should have just called or text me. I don't remember getting an email from you. All of Big Bear trash is offsite, all you have to do is google map the location, it's very easy to find since it's on the Main Street leaving the property. The great thing about our place is we don't have a wifi password since you're all alone on 40 acres, the basic rules are posted right by the door when you walk in. Carpet is only 18 months old, if you had a problem with cleanliness you should of said something, we pay a lot of money to keep the house clean, and aspect it to be perfect for every guest, would have made them go back out there and cleaned while you watched. Waze might just be behind in updates, probably will get there soon enough, but thank you, we will contact them for an update. Communication is our pet peeve, if you need anything or have an issue with something just call me, and we will handle it right away, makes me frustrated to see my guest's stay wasn't perfect, and I never got a phone call to make their vacation dream come true.

Great location, few issues

  • 3 of 5

The Positive- great location, wi fi worked great, plenty of space inside and for parking

The Negative- A/C worked fair (only on the top floor), soap for one load of dishes (really guys), one TV (3) worked and not able to work dvd/cd player, no horsehoe equipment, kitchen greasy and floor dirty, furniture is dated and falling apart.

Of note-property is for sale (do they care about the place?), did not try fireplaces, cannot use garage, trash is far (but that is for all residents/central location). Spa took 12 plus hours to heat.

I have always had good luck with rentals. This one was probably in the worst condition.

The property is for sale (wish we could buy it). Some of the furniture needed some updating.

  • 4 of 5

We did have a wonderful experience there and there was plenty of room for 22 of us, all adults just one child under 10. The first night one person couldn't sleep well as his bed was full of short black hair (maybe dog hair). He itched all night. Beds were confortable. Bathrooms were really nice, however; some

of the water pressure was low in showers. Got in the spa once. Turned it on and it took about 10 hrs to heat up. But it was nice to get in and relax once it

was hot. Kitchen was well stocked w/pots and pans and dishes; however, we took paper products to cut down on doing dishes.

We took a SeaDoo and went down to the lake twice and pulled a big innertube. Also went bowling (made reservations), visited the village and stayed

around the house playing games. Fun was had by all and we enjoyed our stay very much.

A Great Vacation and the perfect spot for us!

  • 4 of 5

This location was exactly what we expected when we arrived! The home was nice and large, well furnished and stocked with all the essentials needed, and very clean. Being a distance away from the town was a worry of ours at first but after we spent more time there, we found we never wanted to leave the home because we were having too much fun there! Everything was exactly as pictured and we had great communication between the owner and the property manager who answered all of our questions.

The only cons for us were that there was no trash bin on site so we had to drive to take the trash to the dumpster (which isn't really far at all) but with 34 people in a cabin, their trash piles up fast. Also, there was some exposed re-bar around the playground that was hidden in the snow that some of our members tripped over and caused them to fall. Lastly, we couldn't get the sound system to work but it didn't matter as we brought blue tooth speakers anyway.

Overall, the house was very well stocked, had everything we needed, and was a blast to stay at! I would definitely recommend this location for large group gatherings and events!

FANTASTIC HOME!

  • 5 of 5

First let me start by saying that since we got back from our trip 12/20/15 my guests and I have not stop talking about the great memories we created at Pine Bluff Lodge Resort and we can't wait to come back next winter. We came to celebrate my sons 17th Birthday. 30 family members including me enjoyed this great house, every square inch of it. The Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner, we just couldn't find a wine bottle opener, but other than that it was perfect. The living room and dining room were the focal point of entertainment, we ate, we danced, we sang karaoke and my nephew played the guitar while we snuggled in front of the fireplace. The rooms were comfy and it was good to have a bathroom in each room, well equipped with toilet paper and towels. The location of this home is great, lots of open space, good to play outdoors in the snow and the views were phenomenal from the balconies. One thing I would like to caution about is the entrance to the driveway, if it's snowing make sure you have chains, good ones. On our departure date 3 of our guests could not go up the street. it was too slippery, they had to be pulled by another vehicle. I would totally recommend this home to large groups...you will have a blast.
