This beautifully maintained home is very roomy, designed for large groups. With 2 Calif King beds, 6 Queen beds, 4 full beds, and 7 twin beds (as well as 4 twin air beds) you can easily fit your extended family or group in our homey atmosphere, perfect for a families, church ministry, club or other retreat. There are so many options for sleeping arrangements that you can arrange your group easily.
What makes our cabin different than others in Shaver Lake? We are in a very quiet area, so you are not right on top of other groups. We are handicap accessible on the ground floor, including a wheelchair ramp and roll-in shower. We have a spacious house that was designed for larger groups so you have plenty of seating for hanging out in large or small groups (getting away from each other or being all together), we are kid and pet friendly, we have a walking trail across the bottom of our acre plus yard, plenty of parking space, really nice kitchen utensils and place settings, we make up the beds for you before you come, we have a pool table and a gas BBQ, and--well, so many other nice features!
Nestled deep in the majestic western Sierras (but easily accessible by road) our 4,000 square foot retreat with its spacious kitchen, 4.5 baths, 8-12 person bunkroom (bottom bunks are full-size beds), 3 big master bedrooms (one with extra futon bed/couch and mini-fridge), living room, den and well equipped meeting room (or extra large bedroom), man-cave with full size pool table and surround sound hi-res TV, this retreat has an atmosphere of quiet and comfort.
Fall, spring and summer guests enjoy spring skiing, hundreds of miles of hiking and bike trails (one even passes through our backyard), popular 4 wheel drive roads, rock climbing, backpacking, guided horse tours, world class freshwater fishing (lake and stream, stocked and native), natural hot springs, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, wake boarding, water skiing, boating (rentals available) and nature viewing.
Winter Guests enjoy spectacular downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and sledding.
The "Queen's" bedroom is easily converted to a meeting room with worktables and chairs to seat up to 24 people. It has a sink and lots of electrical outlets for any activity; it is used for computer retreats, sewing workshops, business retreats and craft workshops. Upstairs and garage are handicap accessible, with a bathroom & shower for wheelchair access. The Man Cave offers a place to just hang out and make noise without bothering anyone else.
The constant on-demand water heater never runs out of hot water so even with a houseful of guests you have plenty! Fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, all cooking gear, and a table seating 12 at a time.
This cabin does NOT have air conditioning, but Shaver Lake is rarely uncomfortably hot. Opening windows at night, then closing them in the morning can keep the house cooler.
Things you will love about this cabin: the beds are made up for you so you don't have to put sheets on when you arrive! The layout provides lots of seating arrangements and places for smaller groups to gather, so you can accommodate a large group and still have privacy for breakout groups, making it perfect for large families. There is a hiking trail off the back of the property, so you can hike most seasons (or snow shoe during the winter months) without driving anywhere. This is a very quiet neighborhood so you can really enjoy nature without seeing a lot of people; deer, coyote, raccoons and other creatures amble across the property all day and night. The roads and the driveway are cleared by a snow plow, so you won't be stuck in a large storm. There is a large deck to hang out on and enjoy the woods.
Instant Booking is available for your convenience; please note that we reserve the right to cancel your booking if we find out your group does not meet our requirements.

I love the Sierras! Hiking, swimming, fishing, skiing, horseback riding--all this and more! My favorite place in the world is Shaver Lake. I love to draw and paint, breathe the fresh piney air, and spend as much time as I can in Shaver Lake.
Owner purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Owner chose Shaver Lake
After visiting the Shaver Lake area nearly every summer since 1969, my husband and I purchased a bare lot and built our house. I designed it and drew the blueprints and my brother did most of the construction (though I built the deck with the help of my sister and several women friends.) All the photos and artwork in the house are mine. I do the "decorating" and maintain the house, while my husband Dave maintains the yard and helps with the Spring and Winter cleans. I designed the house to be comfortable for large groups of people, with plenty of meeting and sitting areas, lots of sleeping options, and nice views from the various rooms.
What makes this Cabin unique
You'll love the master bedrooms (get away from it all) and the Man Cave (have a party!) You will find the hiking trail that crosses near the bottom of the property a lot of fun--you can hike or snow shoe for many miles without crossing a road. It's so quiet and peaceful in the mountains you will have a chance to really unwind and relax. Unlike most other rentals in Shaver Lake, we provide made up beds for you so you don't have to do this yourself.

Fabulous Weekend, Amazing Cabin, Perfect for a Large Group of multiple Families!!!
We stayed for 3 nights and wished it was longer. We ended up having our whole family able to make it, a total of 10 adults and 8 kids, ranging from ages 2 to 72. I have to say, it slept everyone very comfortably. The write-up states that the cabin is deep in the woods and we almost avoided it because of this, however it is close to everything yet you feel deep away from everything. The deck in the back was ideal. We were able to watch the kids play all day adventuring around the cabin and into the woods. We were hoping for snow but the kids made like there was. They hunted for snow and brought it back and packed it into some of the hills around the cabin and sledded basically on wet dirt. I have to say, if there was snow this would be the PERFECT cabin to have fun sledding around. Plenty of great runs and you can watch the kids from the huge deck area. We enjoyed playing board games on the outside deck as well as around the large table in the dining area. We enjoyed having a fire in the fire pit out back. The bunk house was amazing, the kids loved it. The bunk room was ideal for our kids who ranged from 8-16 years old. The bedrooms for the adults were perfect as well, since two of them had extra futon beds we were able to have our smaller ones sleep with us, ages 2-4 but could have even slept adults they were full size futons. We had fun adventuring on the trails out back and even took one into town to get a little treat for the kiddos (a bit of a long hike but we needed it). We've ALL already discussed our next trip and it has this cabin as our first choice!!! You won't be disappointed if you rent it. Hope this write-up helps paint of picture of great family memories that for us will last a life time!!!
Lots of room to spread out, this cabin was perfect for our large extended family. It was very clean and neat. There are plenty of beds. The kitchen had everything we needed, including very nice dishes and silverware. Check in was easy. Wi-Fi worked well and was very fast. It is so quiet in the neighborhood. We saw deer right out the windows, as well as lots of other wildlife. A wonderland!
Thanks for your review! Glad you enjoyed the stay, and we really appreciate you leaving the house neat and clean!
I loved it!
The place was great, and so spacious perfect for a family get away. Wish I could have stayed there longer.
It's a very nice property! Roomy and cozy!
We liked everything! The only thing that was bothersome was the squeaky bunk bed. Girls had a hard time falling asleep with the constant noise. Other than that, it was wonderful!!!!
Loved our stay
This home was so spacious & relaxing! Quiet neighborhood
This property was chosen based on space for a larger group. They provided plenty of beds, activities (pool table, games, sleds, etc.) that made our stay worthwhile. There was more than enough room for our group. The house and area was really easy to find, and the property management and family were great to work with. We had great expectations for our first time and this cabin exceeded those expectations!
