About Linda and Doug
We've been in love with the South Cariboo since the mid-1980's. As a couple we began coming to the Cariboo with our two young boys throughout the 1990's and early 2000's, staying a several different lakes along Hwy 24 including Sheridan, Bridge, Fawn, Deka, Hathaway, Eagan, Lac des Roches and Sulphurous.
Linda and Doug purchased this House in 2006
Why Linda and Doug chose 100 Mile House
When we finally decided to purchase a property in the area we knew exactly where we wanted to be...Sulphurous Lake. We had been staying for several years at Sulphurous Lake Resort and fell in love with the size and tranquility of Sulphurous Lake. The area was small, the fishing - amazing, the people so friendly...it just seemed the perfect place. We had watched the previous owner build our home over the years as we canoed by the property each summer...terracing the property, build the home and erecting the bunkhouse and playground. We had always marveled at this property and thought if it ever came up for sale we should buy it. In the summer of 2006 we did just that.
What makes this House unique
Our property and Sulphurous Lake as a whole has clean, clear waterfront with all homes located on the North perimeter of the lake. This allows unobstructed and pristine views to the SE and SW to untouched crown lands. The property is terraced down to the shoreline from the house allowing comfortable access to the water. We have a dedicated playground for families with young children and access to our bunkhouse for older children/teens. The fire pit by the shoreline allows for spectacular views across the lake while enjoying family times roasting marshmallows or creating S'mores. Our waterfront access is perfect for all ages and our dock can accommodate watercraft up to 21'.

Great place for a relaxing family vacation!
We loved the house, It exceeded our expectations!
Very comfortable and beautiful setting, just what we needed to relax and unwind with family.
We had an amazing time at this gorgeous cabin! Very comfortable, felt like a home away from home. Beautiful view, so spacious and, although our girls were too young to sleep in the bunkhouse, they spent hours in it playing house! Wildfires were close by at the time and we had a couple smoky days from it but there was plenty to do still and the house was big enough for us to still kick back and chill.
Truly a very relaxing, enjoyable stay! Would love to go again.
Great piece of property.
Eight adults had a wonderful time at this house and we did make use of ALL the facilities except the fire pit.
Linda was very easy to deal with and very accommodating.
Best summer vacation ever
We stayed here for a week last year and our kids still talk about it and want to go back. It's such a beautiful private place. A little retreat. Linda was amazing to deal with and we would go back in a heartbeat. The house was great but we spent most of our time outside.
Luxury lakeside living
We stayed at Linda & Doug's beautiful lakeside house for a week this summer. It was everything we were hoping for in a north country get away. The house was immaculate and tastefully decorated and furnished. 3 bedrooms, the master looking onto the lake. 2 full bathrooms all impeccable. Even a laundry room. The kitchen large and fully equipped, new appliances and BBQ, even a separate beverage fridge. The living room was so nice to relax in the evening with cozy couches, wide screen TV and even a fair library of DVDs. We were surprised to see a treehouse with bunkbeds and a little playground with swings and climbing area on the back lawn of the property. Would be great for younger kids. The lake - what can I say, tranquil, crystal clear and warm enough for swimming (20-24C). We were in and out of the lake all day off the dock. Very little boat traffic. Very peaceful, except for the occasional boat, all you hear most of the time is loons. 100 Mile House is a short drive (20 minutes on paved roads) to get groceries or supplies. We didn't have much luck with fishing but the lake is well stocked with rainbow trout and has also lake trout and char. Opportunities for day drips within an hour - hiking and biking but we liked the location so much we mainly just hung out at the lake house. Linda was a pleasure to deal with - very organized and welcoming. We highly recommend this as a vacation location in the South Cariboo.
Really Quite Beautiful
This definitely a lake house - well stocked, comfortable, easy to stay in. The lake is crystal clear and very quiet. Wonderful to kayak on or just hang out swimming, jumping off the dock or floating on an air mattress (which we brought). The pictures really do reflect the house and it was clean and well maintained. This property is only a 10 minute drive to the local stores and 100 Mile House is only about 20 minutes away - which has groceries etc.
We would definitely recommend staying here.
