My husband and I and our 4 children spent many summers vacationing on SML. Finally after many years we found this home on Easy St. (I always wanted to say I live on Easy St.) We have had great fun renovating. Our big project was the new cumaru dock, and replacing the appliances and adding an extra refrigerator. We hope you enjoy as much as our family. Will be glad to email you more pictures via Shutterfly. We recently renovated another large home(5000Sq.ft.), sleeps 12 which is
on homeaway #3523790.
Carolyn Hulett purchased this house in 2002
We bought this property primarily for the 650' shoreline and the lack of steps from the house to the party dock. We also loved the fact that we did not have to share the cove with another dock, which afforded great privacy. Our 6 grandchildren always look forward to coming to the LAKE. They especially love water skiing, tubing, canoeing, sailing, fishing, playing games, and cooking pies with PaPa. Also miniature golf, arcade games, rock climbing and shopping at nearby Bridgewater Plaza. We recently renovated another large home(5000Sq.ft.), sleeps 12 which is on homeaway #3523790.
We never feel crowded. The smaller children love playing in the water from the beach, while others are diving from the dock or fishing. The sunroom often attracts the older crowd while others enjoy activities in the family room. All meals are spent together, at the large picnic table or the kitchen table. The Lake house is where our family reconnects and rediscovers the 'warm fuzzies!' We recently renovated another large home(5000Sq.ft.), sleeps 12 which is on homeaway #3523790.
Thank-you also for sharing your house with us. It was perfect for our family. The kitchen was very well stocked and the kids enjoyed all of the games and movies after a long day of swimming. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
Our family (8 adults, 12 year old, 5 year old, 2 year old, 7 month old and 2 month old) spent our vacation in the Hulett house last week and we all agreed that it was one of the best vacations ever. As noted by others the cove area was one of the best parts of the property. Without it there really would have been no place for our little ones to enjoy the water. The house itself was clean and very comfortable with lots of places to sit and read or chat or just look out at the lake. While we did not eat many meals outside we did use the party deck every evening for just relaxing and enjoying the night time air. The comfortable rockers on the front porch were one of my favorite places to escape the unseasonably hot sun this year. The kitchen is very well stocked and the extra refridgerator came in handy for keeping all our beverages in. In a nut shell we liked the lake and the house so much I have already requested that Carolyn book our family in for August of 2011......
Our family just returned from a week at the lake and everyone had a wonderful time.
The kids enjoyed having a huge room with TV, foosball and their own bathroom. There was plenty of room in the house to spread out - areas for quiet reading, numerous tables for card and board games and puzzles. The outside deck was fabulous - we could watch all the grandkids as they water-skied. The youngest spent many hours on the sandy beach and swimming in the cove.
The women loved having 2 refrigerators - one for food and the other for the sodas and drinks. The pantry was also a nice size for this large group.
Location was ideal - close to grocery, marina, and mini-golf.
Thank you so much for sharing your house with us for a week. We will definitely tell our friends about it and hope to return again another year.
Property is well taken care and laid out nicely for large families.
Really enjoyed the ease of getting to the sundeck, dock, and beach area.
we would definitely come back to Easy St. !!
The house was beautiful and very well kept. We really enjoyed our stay there. Ms. Hulett was very pleasant and easy to work with. I'd recommend renting from her, and I definitely plan on working with her again!
We have an extended family which includes 3 teen-aged boys, 1 teen-aged girl (who brought a friend,) one single "matriarch" and 3 couples, so the bedrooms were perfect. Threw the boys upstairs in the dorm which was far enough away............
The location is great, and we love the proximity of house -to-deck-to -lake. It made preparing for our daily tubing outings (towels, coolers, lotions etc.) an easy trek.
Having the two refrigerators is terrific. One for beverages, the other for food. There are plenty of pots and pans and utensils, but be forewarned if, like me, you are inept at using an electric can opener....or bring your own old-fashioned one. The dishwasher is a bit quirky, but works fine when you get the hang of it. I'm hoping for an updated toaster for our next visit. :)
Have no recommendations for restaurants because we didn't eat out. The grill on the deck works well and we used it twice.
From beginning to end of the rental agreement, the owners maintained close communication and cooperation.
We're hoping to do this again!
This place was great... There were 12 of us from the age of 2 up to... lets just say 60's. There was plenty of places to go and just be alone if you wanted to read, or just walk a few steps to the dock and go fishing or swimming.. Working with the owner was a pleasure. We will be going back.
Our home has a great view of Hales Ford bridge and the mountains beyond. We are a short boat ride to the bridge and Bridgewater Plaza. The plaza offers wonderful shops, great restaurants, fun entertainment for all including Putt-Putt golf, rock climbing, arcade games, bands and dancing. The SML Chamber of Commerce is also located at the Plaza with information concerning the entire region. There are also several
Marinas for boat rentals.
