Wonderful Villa with a Breathtaking View!
The Casa Mirador at the Tulemar resort is an amazing place to stay. The villa is gorgeous and the view is absolutely breathtaking -- looking over the jungle and the ocean. From the patio, we saw many monkeys (some came onto the patio, in fact) and exotic birds including two kinds of Toucans. The villa is well equipped with everything you could need from a beautiful kitchen to full bathroom and bedroom amenities and linens. Special extra touches include fresh tropical flowers and books about Costa Rica and the local wildlife. Chris, our personal concierge, took great care of us, making dinner, transportation and tour arrangements for us. Everyone at the resort is so nice and helpful.
The beach is also fantastic -- a very private little cove with lots of beach chairs in different locations so you have some seclusion and free use of boogie boards and towels. We never saw more than 5 or 6 other people on the whole beach aside from us. Yummy drinks too! On our last morning, a troop of about 20 squirrel monkeys hopped through the trees right above us at the beach and there were 2 BIG iguanas sunning themselves in the parking lot. We stopped by restaurant next to the beautiful infinity pool on our way out and there were two of the "resident" sloths hanging out in the tree next to the restaurant. You hardly even need to take a nature tour if you stay at the Tulemar resort! It's a beautiful, magical place!
We loved having you with us a Casa Mirador! Thank you so much for the wonderful review and we hope to see you back with us again, soon!
Tulemar Resorts and Casa Panorama exceeded all of our expectations! The views were fantastic and we spent countless hours on the deck enjoying morning coffee and afternoon thunderstorms and spectacular sunsets! The accommodations were awesome - clean, functional, well stocked, etc.
We stayed here with our 4 teenage kids and the size was perfect. The best of all were the animals and birds around Tulemar - waking up to howler monkeys, watching red macaws flying by, monkeys everywhere and sloths as well. The walk to the beach is steep but well worth it walking under the tall canopy and watching for animals overtime.
The beach was just beautiful and we spent hours there everyday just boogie boarding and swimming in the gorgeous water.
Kimberly was a great help in planning activities - we did Manual Antonio hike to both beaches, mountain biking to waterfalls, and the mangrove boat tour
A vacation we will never forget - felt so spoiled for our week here!
Hi Beth....we loved having your family with us.....thanks for all the kind words and the comments on Kimberly.....your personal concierge.....thanks, too, for booking with us at tulemar.com and we hope to see you back again!
This place totally lives up to the reviews. We stayed in Casa Mirador for two days. Tulemar was very booked up the week we went so we stayed the two available days and I'm so glad we did. The villa itself was very nice. Plenty big for 4 people (it was just my husband and my daughter with us). Diego met us at the gate. Got us checked in and gave us a tour. We immediately saw a sloth at the beach during the tour! The family pool was directly across from our villa. Amazing infinity pool with the best views and a shallow pool perfect for our two year old. The beach is great. Tons on shady trees, or they will set up chairs and umbrellas wherever you want. Plus they have everything you could need at their beach (boogie boards, sand toys, towels, showers, a bar and food). We saw howler monkeys and iguanas. You could easily spend your entire time at the resort...but I suggest getting out there and hitting up the rest of Manuel Antonio too :)
Thank You so much for your nice comments. Please hurry back.
Our family had a wonderful time at Tulemar in Casa Mirador. From the easy pre-arrival emails on what to do to the warm brownies delivered to our bungalow, it was great. The place was clean, amazing beds, great kitchen to cook in, and spectacular views. Private beach, monkeys, butterflies guaranteed. We will definitely be back.
Casa Del Mar at Tulemar
If you want to go to paradise and depart with a longing to stay knowing you will have a transformative experience this is where you need to go. My wife and I are nature enthusiasts and like to be around people that have a similar "warm and fuzzy" side particularly if it is genuine and sincere. This place gets into your blood immediately upon arrival. From those born to Costa Rica to those who have become expat's the experience is uniformly gracious, caring and service oriented. Our hostess, the great and wonderful Ashley, anticipated our concerns and truly went the extra mile seemingly what she just does naturally. She even arranged a chef on our last evening for an 'in bungalow' feast that rivaled the excellent on site and area restaurants. Chris (the chef) is beyond description. He is personable, a great food educator with world experience, who felt like a natural member of the family as he did on site creations we have not seen. Chris, the eggs diablo were like nothing I have ever partaken! I didn't know you could do that with anchovies! The most disappointing part of Casa Del Mar was leaving. Colleen and I are both psychiatrists and we can find no better antidepressant than the PEOPLE and resort of Casa Del Mar!!!
Thank you and Bless You, Ashley, Chris and Dave (and David, our beach concierge, who never played Bocce Ball but is a natural!). We'll be back!!!
Serenity at its finest!
If you are looking to truly unwind from the stress of every day life, this is the place to come. Tulemar is absolutely beautiful. I felt as if i landed on Gilligan's Island! As everyone says, the staff is super friendly and always happy. No one has an attitude which is such a pleasure. We stayed in Mirador upper. Absolutely gorgeous and immaculate. The outdoor patio was my favorite. Take a cup of tea or a glass of wine and just listen to the monkeys, birds, wind or swaying palm trees. Do not hesitate if u have any second thoughts. This place shouldn't be missed. We are definitely returning and I have never gone to the same place twice. Restaurants that were very good. Aqua azul , Victorias, Rafael terraza ( we went twice). Every morning, Cafe milagro. All within minutes. You must eat dinner on the beach. So beautiful. The sunsets everywhere are to die for. Go and enjoy this little slice of heavan !!!
We loved having you here and hope to have you return soon.
