This ski house has rarely been rented and is very clean and comfortable. It is convenient to both Killington and Pico ski areas as well as all the area attractions. The living room has an open fireplace to warm up to after a day on the slopes. The house has a large front yard and nestles up to a mountain stream and woods. Right across the street is The Green Mountain National Golf Course. Its a great setting for walks or cross country skiing. Our home will certainly provide you with the amenities of the resorts, but with a true taste of Vermont.

Be aware of this owner charm!!

As you walk into this home, the first floor seems very presentable. Upon going to the basement where the bedrooms are we were greeted with a foul smell, and cockroaches crawling from the laundry closet and bedroom closet. We had to open up the windows, drive to Rutland to get air freshner and roach killer. It was very cold in the house and we turned up the temp but notice the heat was not coming on. We called and text the owner when we could not find the on/off switch with no reply. Under the thermostat is the on/off button in white that you could hardly see, we had to use a flash light to see that button. We told the owner when we made the reservation that we were travelling from the west coast and wanted to know if we need to bring anything. He said this is his quiet season and we should bring nothing. We did not realize that towels were not included, so we used the dirty looking towels that we washed before using only to be charged $70 to clean the towels. The owner explained the charge by saying "I have your deposit and credit card info, so I can charge whatever I pleases". My son took a show and did not say anything about the hot water, when my daughter went to show, she said the hot water was not coming on. I checked everything including the water heater to see what was the problem. The owner turned off the breaker to the hot water heater so there were no hot water in the house. I happened to check the breaker box after all failed, and saw the breaker switch to the hot water heater off. The internet continuously lost connection, finally we got the owner to respond via email and he had to call the internet company to fix the problem. He was not pleasant when we mentioned these problems to him. He kept saying that his home has a five star rating and there should be no problem. We left his place spotless, and had to call him several times about refunding our deposit, to which he claims that we broke his knife and found out about the towel charge also. He seems as a nice guy at first, but the more to speak to him, his arrogance and rude attitude comes out.

Bottom line-- I do not recommend this place due to the ignorant owner who only wants you to rate his property high so he can stay in business according to him. He has no respect for his customers who keeps him in business. I really hope he changes his style of management and listen to what his customers have to say before giving them his nasty attitude.

Owner's Response: This egregious response should not be taken for anything more then an angry man with no grasp of reality. After dozens of 5 star reviews, to think this is anything more then an attempt to trash a wonderful, well managed, flexible home is ridiculous. Please, disregard, you will not be disappointed.

Nice and Cozy place

After searching through multiple vacation houses for the busy ski season, we settled down on this property because of its convenient location, affordable price and easy-to-work-with owner. The house exceeded our expectation, outfitted with pretty much everything we needed for cooking, relaxing and entertaining. Jon answered promptly to phone calls, emails or texts.

Highly recommended and definitely look forward to coming back again!

Great House and Location

Great Location: 10 minutes to base of Killington Mountain, 5 minutes to Grocery store

Great house: The house is very spacious, comfortable and clean. Outdoor grill is really convenient as well

Beds: Very comfortable and bed sheets are good quality

Owner: Very easy to communicate with the owner and arrange any special requests

Will definitely be staying there again in the future!

Great place

Everything worked out well. Nice fireplace and common area. Bedrooms and kitchen were nice also. About 5 mins to access road and then only 5 more to snowshed or ten to k2. Definitely would go back!

Very nice rental, clean, comfortable & convenient

Jon (the owner) was very easy to work with. He quickly responded to our calls and texts.

The property was very comfortable and spacious for our 2 families (8 people max during our stay). It was very clean, well laid out, with enough amenities for our needs. The galley kitchen met our needs and was up to date. The bathrooms were clean and modernized.

There was plenty of firewood for the massive stone fireplace, and the TV, Cable, and Wifi worked great. We were able to stream Netflix over our computers onto the large flatscreen without any issues.

Doubleday Hill Rd is very close to both Pico and Killington, so it was very easy and quick to get to the slopes (<10 min drive to any base lodge).

We were very happy with the overall experience and would definitely rent from Jon again.
