PARK PLACE is located in Spring Lake which is only a five minute drive to downtown Grand Haven!
Great locations that can be your HOME AWAY FROM HOME!
Tom is a local builder and was rasied in Grand Haven but spent fifteen years enjoying California! Eve grew up in Historic Indian Village located in downtown Detroit and has lived in the area for over 20 years.
We enjoy traveling, camping in our 1966 Frolic camper and being outdoors! We enjoy renovating homes… finding them in rough shape and transforming them into their original splendor!
Tom and Eve Pushaw purchased this house in 2004
The Howard House is located within a quiet neighborhood but is close to all of the downtown activities. You are walking distance to the boardwalk, beach, restaurants, shopping, library etc.
Many guests tell us that they feel like they are at a 'home away from home!' They mention the antique furniture, stain glass windows and our kitchens the most :)
We have designed and decorated our properties to feel like homes!
The Howard House offers convience...everything you need is within walking distance! The only time you will need your car is to go to the grocery store and to be honest that is not even necessary during the week...there are specialty markets downtown for basic needs and unique purchases!
The Howard House has a front porch swing to enjoy a cup of coffee or read a book. The back patio is a perfect place for kids to play and parents to feel comfortable and relax. There is a downstairs bedroom for for those that have difficulty with stairs and the home has a fully equipped kitchen with an open floor plan to enjoy meals at home.
As you know,a house(home)sets the stage - Each of us oohed and aahed when we came in, it felt so inviting and beautiful. The renovation was terrific, beautifully finished, everything! And Eve, we loved all of your touches, it makes a house homey and warm.
We walked, relaxed, laughed and ate! A perfect vacation for all of us! Loved the town, have to come back and visit the many more great things to see and do.
Again, Thanks for everything, it was the highlight of the year for us.
We stayed at Franklin Cottage for the weekend of Kite-fest. The house is beautifully restored and the location is perfect - just one block to downtown. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and listening to the music from the restaurant across the street in the evening.
This was a fantastic place for our family get-away. My sons, their wives and myself stayed 3 nights and 4 days. We walked everywhere. Packed the wagon and beach chairs that the rental provided and walked to Lake Michigan and spent the day. This rental had all the amenities of home. Sheets and towels were provided. The kitchen was fully functional. We had an absolute blast. I would highly recommend it. It was just 3 hours from home, easy to find, easy on the wallet, who could ask for more.
A groups of friends and I stayed at the Howard House over Memorial Day weekend and we absolutely loved our stay. The house was comfortable, charming, and perfectly located. We were able to enjoy all of the outdoor spaces that the house offers. My favorite spot was enjoying coffee in the mornings on the upstairs porch! We were able to walk to the downtown area and the pier from the house and appreciated all of the suggestions the owners provided us with. I would recommend this property to anyone and hope to book a stay again soon.
Our family has stayed at the Howard House 3 times in the past year and a half and comes highly recommended. The house is nicely decorated, clean, and maintains the charm of the late 1800s while having every modern amenity along with a fully equipped kitchen. The area is quiet while being central to all you could want to see and do in Grand Haven. We had everything we needed and the owner was very helpful with any questions regarding the property or about Grand Haven. We loved the covered front porch; the spot for our daily morning coffee making it the perfect place to relax. We’ll be back to Grand Haven and stay at the Howard House again. Many thanks for great memories!
This comfortable house definitely felt like home for a long weekend with friends during ArtPrize in Grand Rapids and Grand Haven ArtWalk. Even though it was a rainy weekend no one minded staying inside to relax wth good friends, food and wine. Pleasant neighborhood for walking. The site accurately described everything included. The owners gave some thoughtful details throughout The Howard House. I would recommend to others coming to beautiful western Michigan
Another fun and enjoyable family vacation in Grand Haven, this was our 6th year for our children and grandchildren to join us. Plenty of room and setting on the porch was wonderful perhaps because we enjoy being outside in the summer. Not a big yard however we were able to play ladder ball and corn hole (two family favorites). The best part I would say is the large dining table where we would all sit around and have breakfast or dinner. Plenty of interesting conversation. The location is great, walk or bike to everything.
Michigan Adventure is an amusement park approx. 30 minutes North of Grand Haven, walking & biking trails, play a round of golf - more than four local courses, Musical Fountain, area antiquing, waterfront concerts and events, charter fishing, visit downtown galleries/gift shops, explore Duncan Woods, Rosy Mound and Coast Guard Park, rent jet skies, Mulligan's Hollow - baseball diamond, basketball court, skateboard park and Imagination Station for children.
