I am a native speaker and rent my own holiday home on the picturesque and elegant island of Spetses.
The house was built 250 years ago in stone, wood, straw, sludge and eggs 800 meters from the sea in the oldest part of the island, whose name is Kasteli (castle). At that time they were ruled away from the seas where the pirates were ruled! Thus, in the event of an attack, the time required to close the gates of the wall and defend itself. When the sea became calmer, the richest distrusted their house near the port, with high garden walls for security reasons. One by one they were close to the sea. The poorest remained in Kasteli. One of these houses, which have never been abandoned, is the house of my great-grandfather. This was the beginning of the 20th century. Century, my grandfather was born, but at the age of 19 he sought his fortune in Athens and founded his family there. His son (my father) played in his summer holidays when he came to visit Grandma. My father then married a German teacher and looked after the preservation of the house in the original style. In 1984 he built a few meters away from the house, which serves as a bathroom and kitchen. The exceptionally shady and fresh garden was laid out at the end of the 80s, because I have a green heart and I still care about it personally.
The Erdgeßos serves as a storage room and is not accessible to guests. On the first floor is the living room, the dining table, the bedroom and a small terrace with a lovely view to the sea. In the summer months you are mainly in the garden with different levels, sectors and seats. There is a garage in the eastern part of the garden.
The night lighting plays an important role and ensures relaxation and interesting cozy ambience.
There is hardly a holiday home on the island so quietly located at the same time (800 meters from the port). The evening breeze blowing from the pine forest provides
For more comfortable temperatures than in the harbor.
I wish you the right entry in your virtual trip on Spetses!
