Travel up the cobblestone street to the wrought-iron gates of beautiful Villa Roca Loro, located in the exclusive South Zone of Puerto Vallarta! This magnificent gated villa is built into the mountainside of the Sierra Madres, and includes three individual suites that are each more than 1,000 square feet. Each suite contains a king size bed, a living area and a full bath, all overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Banderas Bay and Los Arcos, the famous natural rock formation. All of this is five minutes from Mismaloya Beach.
Our distinctive colonial Mexican villa has been richly updated throughout with the modern amenities expected at a luxurious vacation home. The entire property inside and outside has been completely updated, including new: flat-screen HDTVs with surround sound systems and DVD players and iPod docking stations, furnishings, appliances, linens and towels, air conditioning and king beds. The villa has its own newly renovated swimming pool and separate infinity-edge Jacuzzi. We have even carefully restored the visual aesthetic of the property's original aqueduct, although it is no longer operational.
Ana and Miguel are at your service with daily bedroom, bathroom and pool cleaning and maintenance, towels and linens, and two delicious meals and appetizers each day (not included in the daily rate), including your favorite authentic Mexican favorites, superbly and expertly prepared. Please note that they do not work on Sundays. Taxi service is immediately available upon your request.
Stroll along the famous Puerto Vallarta Malecon, or sidewalk along the ocean, with its sand sculptors, musicians and street artists, or visit the Huichol Indian bead and glass-blowing boutiques, the numerous art and jewelry galleries, as well as countless other superb dining, dancing and retail establishments.
Whether your ideal vacation includes all of the activities you can fit into each sun-drenched day, or simply soaking up the tropical sunshine of Mexico in the privacy of your own villa, or something in between, your ideal getaway is paradise, Roca Loro-style, for couples and families alike!

This was amazing trip. The staff at the Villa were wonderful, and the rooms are just as amazing in person as they are on the pictures! Will definitely be going back.
My husband and I planned our vacation to Roca Loro over a year ago. Our family is a blended family and each of our adult children ( mostly in their 20's) and one of their significant others accompanied us. There were a total of 8 in our group. The layout of the villa worked superbly for all the boys to be in one suite, the girls in the second suite, and my husband and I in the third suite. I can honestly say that each of us was awestruck upon our arrival and could not believe our good fortune in having the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful place. The villa was immaculate and the scenery was breathtaking. We enjoyed a nice balance of spending time at the villa and enjoying pre-planned excursions that allowed plenty of adventure for our family. Ana and Miguel enhanced our stay by preparing the majority of our meals and providing daily housekeeping service. Each of us will remember their warmth and hospitality. The only suggestion I could make is to bring movies In English from the United States to take advantage of the nice TV's in each of the rooms if you want to spend a quiet evening in and an assortment of board games. We brought a cribbage board that was used extensively ! Roca Loro will always be a special memory for our family time and we extend a huge thank you from each of us to the owner ( Lauren) for giving us this opportunity and being so helpful as we went through the planning and preparation for our vacation.
With another couple, we spent a week at this beautiful property. Had a very relaxing time in great surroundings. Drove up to the city, drove south to Boca de Tomatlan, a beautiful beach, as well as the beach down the hill in Mismaloya. but much of the time was spent on the property itself. We chose to drive so we could have a car at our disposal. We did walk down to the beach and walked back up the hill, though the hike up is steep in a couple of places, but excellent exercise. Ana and her son Miguel were absolutely incredible - they took great care of us as well as being very nice to be around. Ana was very willing to show us how she made different dishes and, believe me, the food there was much better than at any restaurant in the area. Her preparation of chicken mole and enchiladas with tomatillo and green chile, as well as the chile rellenos were exceptional. We had a wonderful time.
I recently spent 8 glorious days at Villa Roca Loro over the Thanksgiving holiday and am so happy I did. What a lovely home! I have stayed just about everywhere in my 20 years traveling to Puerto Vallarta, and Villa Roca Loro is the best hands down.
The home is located in a gated community above Mismaloya beach. The drive up to the home was charming and looking at the other lovely homes on my way up, confirmed for me that I was in for something special. We arrived at the home and rang the mission bell as instructed. Miguel appeared right away and immediately took control of our luggage. We ascended the stairs to the home and COULD NOT BELIEVE the view of Los Arcos once we hit the top of the stairs. It looked as if one could reach out an touch the famous arches.
You enter into a lovely courtyard where the pool is the center of attention. There is a master suite on the ground floor and up a small staircase are 2 more master suites. They suites are so beautifully furnished and offer such great views, it was hard to pick one (I was staying with 2 other couples). You literally see it all from this house - Los Arcos, the Bay, Puerto Vallarta, Mismaloya cove, the jungle.... It is heaven!
Anna, the cook and housekeeper, had chips/salsa/guacamole and margaritas waiting for us. She had also prepared enchaladas verde for dinner. She is a WONDERFUL cook! We were only going to have her cook once, but her food is so good we ended up asking her to cook many breakfasts, lunches, and dinners! All served around the pool. Anna is a gem!
There are so many favorite "spots" at this home. If I had to pick a #1 favorite, I would say the infinity hot tub. Watching the sunset, soaking in the hot tub while Miguel brings margaritas are the things that "best vacation ever' is made of.
Also, I want to mention what a joy dealing with the owner, Lauren, was. Very attentive. My deposit was returned right away and without even asking. I have had to ask other owners in the past. Lauren was right on top of everything.
I plan to rent the home again in July, if not sooner. Do yourself a favor and rent it, too. Just not while I want it! :)
We rent from VRBO all the time and this was the first unacceptable experience we've had anywhere in the world.
One thing you need to know is that there is no common space for gathering except for the pool and the dining room. There is no living room and no internal hallway to the bedrooms so when/if it rains, everyone is either stuck in their rooms or they have to brave the weather to gather in the dining area. The hot tub wasn't working when we arrived so we asked that they fix that. They then charged us several hundred dollars for breaking the hot tub that wasn't working.
One evening we were all in the dining room playing board games and my chair broke while I was sitting in it. I'm not young and the fall twisted my knee badly and I couldn't join the rest of the group on the outings for the rest of the trip. The owner said, they weren't going to charge us for the broken chair. Funny, we were thinking they were lucky I didn't sue for damages.
Pros: the view is amazing and it's walking distance to the beach.
Cons: No common living space, no internal access to bedrooms, and the owner is hmmmm, see comments above.
Recommendation: Stay elsewhere.
All I can say is WOW! We have traveled to many tropical destinations and have never experienced views such these. The home itself is absolutely a work of art built into the side of the hill and separating it's suites into 3 different sections was just a great idea. Each has spectacular views with wall to wall glass windows and is separated from the other. This way every occupant can have their own little vacation.
There was a group of 12 of us that ranged in ages from 3 to 70. Having said that I do want to give you a few tips to make your stay a bit more enjoyable. First, there are stairs lots of them all over the property, so it's best everyone in the party is able to climb stairs. Also, if there are toddlers in your party such as ours, just keep an extra eye on them so you don't get any tumbles. Second, you should bring your own toiletries although Ana and Miguel would probably help you out it's best you bring your own. Third, you might want to bring your own Beach Towels, there are some pool towels that can be borrowed but in my opinion it's best if you bring an actual beach towel. That's it for suggestions.
Villa Roca Loro, is an amazing place. We loved it so much we didn't want to go. I also can't say enough good things about Ana and Miguel they are awesome people who will help with your stay. Ana's cooking is all delicious and Miguel's BBQ is perfect! They both are very pleasant and I can see why they have been there for years taking care of the place. The pictures on this website are pretty, but in person it is amazing. We can't say enough great things about it, other than you will feel like we did, a little bit of paradise on earth!
