3 Bedrooms, 3 1/2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6. . .sleeps 8 with queen blow-up
After traveling to parts of Mexico during the 1990's, and always appreciating the climate and friendly people of Todos Santos, we decided to purchase oceanfront property in 1999. At that time, there were only one or two other homes in the Las Tunas area. Of course, now there is an entire community of fellow Americanos and local residents in the area. We started building in late 2007, and were able to complete and move in August 2008. We enjoy our neighbors, the lovely town of Todos Santos, and the cool tradewinds constantly blowing in off the Pacific. We enjoy fishing up around the LaPaz area, as well as locally. Jim and Shirl

Great house in a great location!
Villa Olas was right on the beach and we saw some amazing sunsets. The house is bright and spacious and well equipped (although we did have some problems with the Green Egg BBQ - maybe just us?) The best part of our stay was Jim, Shirl and Caretaker Tim who were very responsive to emails and even allowed us to move some things in a day early so we could have more room in our cars for picking up family and luggage at the airport. We spent a wonderful week here.
What a lovely review, Cathy. Tim enjoyed hosting your family. We want to extend you an invitation to return ~ anytime.

Wonderful House in an Amazing Location
This property was fantastic for our group of 6. There is so much outdoor space to relax in, and we loved being on the beach and having our own pool. Tim was very helpful and kept the pool nice and warm for us! We enjoyed visits to town and restaurants, but our favorite thing was being able to site on the patio of the house and watch the whales and sunsets. Highly recommended!
We love sharing the villa and the fact that you have a bird's eye view of the whale migration.
Welcome back ~ anytime!

Maybe if you were coming here with a family of 8 and had men with you it would be fine.... but we were taking a "girls" trip (both of us in our 60's). We arrived at night, with terrible directions, on narrow dirt pot-holed roads and got to this big house in the middle of nowhere. There were 26 steps just to get up to the front door (and then another 17 to get up to the bedrooms from the main floor!) It was just too isolated for two women - we had to drive back 2 hours to get anything that resembled more than a can of Spam, which was the only meat we could find in the local supermarket. And we couldn't find anyone that spoke English! Our "private heated pool" was cold until the last day we were there because the heater had been running all week and finally got up to about 80 degrees. The microwave was broken. It rained and so there was a leak in the ceiling. The TV didn't work and because we were out in the middle of nowhere we were scared and slept with all the lights on and a butcher knife near my bed! If we hadn't met Tim, the caretaker, the next morning when we got up we would have been heading back to Cabo looking for a hotel! Tim made us feel a little safer and we were glad that he lived on the property (except he plays in a band in the evenings and is not always there.) Tim fixed the TV, the leak, etc. but we still didn't have anything to do all week. The views are amazing. But you can't walk on the sand because it is so coarse it cuts your feet and you can't swim in the ocean because of the undertow. We felt trapped there all week with nothing to do. There is a nice billiards room and they have plenty of games so again if you bring a big family with you and you want to cook all week you could find plenty to do. Any water activiites though are back in Cabo - a 90 minute + drive. We had dinner one night at the Hotel California and there was a cat under our table! This is a very poor small town with stray dogs everywhere and not the beautiful resort area we thought we would be near.
The street out to our neighborhood of Las Tunas has been nicely paved, & with sidewalks (since we first built). Only 1 block of unpaved remains (to the villa.) This neighborhood would not be considered remote as there are dozens of homes behind our casa. Our on-site Manager, Tim, provides plenty of information on caterers, and has guided all of our guests to the two local gourmet meat supplies, with one of them speaking excellent English.
The pool has been averaging 84 degrees daily for this time of year, which is definitely cooler than the summer months. The previous guests experienced some of the coldest temps/winds, with a down pour all one night, but luckily, our reliable manager had the skylight in the laundry room fixed while our guests were still there. Tim had explained that the microwave was not operational, and that a new one was on it's way, which was fine with the guests.
The televisions all worked once our Manager explained how to operate the remotes, and our guests were then able to enjoy the Super Bowl, along with all the programming offered.
We provide all our guests with a list of suggested things to do in the area, and we send a list of favorite restaurants, along travel tips. We also suggest a few side trips including a half-day trip to the mountains to enjoy a wonderful lunch and a taste of old Mexico.
The small town of Todos Santos is anything but poor. They have buried all overhead electrical lines, paved almost all streets (save for a few out-of-the-way) streets, ~ and this due mostly to tourism.
Cabo is actually a 50-minute drive along the coast.
So come enjoy our five-star villa and perhaps join the many return guests we have every year!
Amazing Pre-Christmas Break
Amazing property. Spacious. Clean. Awesome view. Great owners and Property Manager. Todos is a great area! So much to see and do. And, the restaurants are fabulous!
A wonderful, relaxing week
We had a fantastic vacation complete with soothing sunshine, a heated pool, whales breaching off the shore right outside our house and wonderful accommodations. The owners and caretaker were amazingly attentive. We loved it!
