Amazing House, Great Location...Can't wait to go back!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time staying at this house! It's in a great location, close to downtown Kona and close to the beaches along Ali'i. We loved watching whales/dolphins on the lanai while the waves crashed in front of us! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was so relaxing. The rooms, especially the huge master bedroom/en-suite upstairs, were spacious and very comfortable. Having beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc. was a great bonus. VRBO made it easy to book and Don provided a very helpful information check-in/out sheet. Wish we never left! We will definitely stay here again.

Wedding on the Big Island

  • 4 of 5

We were a mixed group celebrating a wedding at the Royal Kona of my stepson and his lovely bride . This house worked well for our needs with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Every bedroom but one looked out onto the ocean. The house is well kempt and is literally situated on the ocean between Ali'i Drive and a somewhat protected bay on a narrow piece of black sand beach. When waters are calm one can see the assortment of tropical fish from yellow tangs to various butterfly fish from the balconies. This was the first 2 days ,and then the surf picked up and we were privy to watching the talents of surfers and boogie boarders from the balcony as they whizzed down large waves. The surf thundered..

The location was ideal for us as it was walking distance to the Royal Kona hotel where the wedding took place and I must say the Royal Kona out did themselves in relation to the lovely intimate wedding ceremony followed by a post celebration banquet that was delicious and accompanied by an and amazing Luau celebration with professional dancers demonstrating many of the different ethnic dances from traditional Hawaiian to fire dancers to Maori dances.

We stayed another week after wedding and toured many of the highlights of the Big island from Mauna Kea to Hilo and the botanical gardens to Waimea and Parker Ranch to Volcano National Park and this house was a nice stepping off point. Some of the best snorkeling was just down the round and then in the bay where the captain cook monument is located in an area called 2 step by the locals. We thank Don and Kila for their hospitality and the fruit basket was a nice welcoming touch.

Great ocean front house!

  • 4 of 5

As a family of 6 we loved all the space that this home provided. Not only was it "up close & personal" with the ocean (the sound of crashing waves was pretty much a constant), it was an easy walk into town for shopping and dining. We especially enjoyed seeing tropical fish and dolphins from our balconies. We would stay here again! Mahalo to Dan for giving us all the information we needed regarding the house and island to make this a very relaxing and wonderful vacation.

Great location, kind managers!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this home for Ironman World Championships - the house was walking distance to Kona shops & restaurants but perfectly situated for a peaceful vacation. Comfortable beds and generously sized rooms. Manager, Don, is helpful and quick to respond to questions.

Can't get any closer to the ocean

  • 5 of 5

This house is big, bright and open with floor to ceiling French windows . The sound of crashing waves reverberates throughout everywhere in the house. There are fantastic ocean views from every room and you can watch whales and tropical fish right from your lanai. It is very close to Kona but just a little far to be totally walkable with kids and a senior in our party.
