Can't get any closer to the ocean

  • 5 of 5

This house is big, bright and open with floor to ceiling French windows . The sound of crashing waves reverberates throughout everywhere in the house. There are fantastic ocean views from every room and you can watch whales and tropical fish right from your lanai. It is very close to Kona but just a little far to be totally walkable with kids and a senior in our party.

Fantastic family Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous view from three decks directly on the water. Whales, dolphins and surfers right outside to watch.Great home for either stay at home relaxation or local activities. Close walk to town. House was amazing for 8 people for 1 week. Mostly cooked at home. All had private spaces and great community space. Manager was available and accommodating. Property surpassed our expectation. Would recommend for groups and would love to stay again. Recommend SeaQuest adventures for snorkeling trip, Teshima's Japanese Restaurant, Lava Java in town.

The most amazing vacation EVER!!

  • 5 of 5

This home is phenomenal! The listing and photos are spot on, if not unable to do the property justice, as it is difficult to photograph the heavenly sunsets, wild dolphins swimming by, the amazing sea breeze, and the overwhelming sense of peace this little bit of heaven provides! The property is very clean and well maintained. Don was amazing and easily accessible. We cannot say enough good things about this property! Being able to wake up and see the amazing ocean views without having to leave your bed is a wonderful feeling. All of the rooms have spectacular views! While it was hard to leave our oasis, we were able to walk to local restaurants, shopping, and even a luau! We were able to watch spinner dolphins swim by in the mornings. Crabs and colorful fish were always right off of the balcony. Going to sleep each night with waves crashing literally at your feet is the greatest lullaby ever! We have already recommended this property multiple times and plan to return ourselves!

Heavenly property

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from an 8 night stay at this beautiful home on Ali'i Drive. Our family did not celebrate Christmas together at the end of 2011, so this was our Christmas gift to one another!!

Kona was it's usual beautiful self with temperatures in the 80's. We could walk to downtown Kailua and visit the farmers market, or have a drink and a bite to eat. We also walked to the beaches and had a swim whilst our son in law body boarded.

The facilities at the house were wonderful-all we had to worry about was the food and Mai Tais!! (we had a 6 month old baby with us and rented extra equipment for him from 'Babys Away' a great company)

Each night we were rocked to sleep by the sound of waves splashing against the wall below the house. It was wonderful. Thank you so much Don for sharing this beautiful house with us.

Gorgeous House and Views

  • 5 of 5

Aloha! We stayed for only four nights this month, after spending three nights at a resort. I wish we had spent our entire week at this house, though. It was very clean, very well stocked with linens and kitchen ware, and had everything we needed for some real relaxation! The views from each of the three lanais are incredible. It was wonderful being able to sit and drink my morning coffee and watch the many colorful fish below me! We were in Hawaii celebrating our 20th anniversary, so having the entire 3rd floor master suite was so romantic! Our 12-year old son enjoyed having a bedroom on the 2nd floor, and he loved watching the ocean from the lanai! The house is walking distance to downtown Kona, and also to the Ali'i Gardens farmers market) in the other direction. The Ali'i Massage Center on the right on the way to town gave me one of the best massages EVER! We could see dolphins from the house, and then we did the Kona Dolphin Swim with Dolphin Discoveries ($15 off each, coupon online). There were only four of us on the boat (plus the captain) and we went snorkeling in the open ocean with a pod of about 30-40 dolphins. It was one of the most awe-inspiring things I've ever done! This was truly a trip we'll always remember, and we are already planning our trip back to this house for our 21st anniversary, and each year after that!!! Mahalo, Don!
