Indiantown Village in Frisco is a quiet secluded neighborhood. We enjoy watching nature in a more 'off the beaten path' experience.
You can walk right out your backdoor into the sound, or just sit and watch its amazing beauty!
We've rented Kapt'n Kelly's three times now and have always received prompt and helpful service from the manager; enjoyed a nice, comfy, well-appointed house; and had a good visit in the most pet-friendly accommodation we have rented. The house is nicely arranged, with living space and kitchen and a beautiful view of the sound from the upper deck, all upstairs. The bedrooms are downstairs and offer a quiet place to rest, read, and sleep. The decks are fabulous - the lower one that wraps around on three sides and allows access to the sound in back as well as including a large and well-furnished screen room; and the upper one off the living room that looks over the sound and gives you wonderful views of boats, fishing birds, and sunsets. The kitchen is well-appointed with good cookware, dishes, and appliances. The neighborhood is quiet and very well suited to walking dogs (we bring three). The bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely arranged, and the beds are comfortable. Linens are provided so all we had to bring were our bath and beach towels, which was a plus. Unlike several houses we have rented through realty agencies, this one (managed by Shore Details) came with a starter pack that included four rolls of toilet paper, one packet of dishwasher detergent, a small bottle of dish soap and a sponge/scrubber, and a roll of paper towels - so if you arrive later in the day, you are not having to stop and shop on the way for those essentials. We had a maintenance issue we needed resolved - we called Shore Details on Friday morning about it and it was taken care of within a few hours. They were so quiet and efficient that we did not even know they had come and gone. We've always had good service with the manager and were pleased with the service by the maintenance company. Our primary wish would be that there were screen doors on the sliders that lead to the two bedrooms that abut the screened porch because the screening on the porch is a bit worn and does not keep out the mosquitoes as well as it should (or the occasional squirrel!). So we could not sleep with the slider door open at night to enjoy the sea breezes or keep the slider open during the day when we were resting to enjoy the sounds of the soundside. The location is great - easy access to Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras, and local attractions and resources like Orange Blossom, Conners, Equine Adventures, Dutch Bonnet, Billy Mitchell Airfield, Quarterdeck, beach access points, and many more.
We had a wonderful stay! The views of the sound were beautiful, lots of wildlife, and the sunsets were amazing! Loved the layout of the home with the bedrooms on the first floor. Great outdoor space with several decks and outdoor seating. Hot tub was a great way to relax at the end of the day. Perfect location between Buxton and Hatteras.
We had a great stay in this home!! The views of the sound were beautiful and the sunsets were breathtaking! Our son caught a nice looking Red Drum right out the back yard on the sound! This is one of the cleanest homes we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot! The kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING you could need and the family room was quite spacious. The gas grill had a full tank which was nice. The pool table was an added bonus and we had fun shooting pool in the evenings. Restaurants were close by and the neighborhood is a great place to walk your dogs if you take them. We will definitely remember this beautiful home for next year!!
Thank you for providing such a comfortable home!
We are repeat renters of this VRBO. Good location, great house, and very private setting nestled in the Live Oaks. The house is nicely furnished with some fun wall decorations. The kitchen is well equipped. Good grill for all that fish you catch. There are 2 nice decks with one being off the bedrooms below which is screened. There is a pool table and hot tub and numerous other amenities including cat friendly. And there are wonderful views of the sound and lovely sunsets. Thank you again to the owners for renting this terrific home. We will be back! We love it and Cape Hatteras. What a great vacation spot.
We have stayed at many VRBOs. Kapt'n Kelly's by far was one of the best!! Very comfortable house with a great view. We spent many hours on the upper deck in the bar chairs relaxing, drinking great wine and enjoying the view and the activity on the sound to include the resident Goose and Duck. Both are lame, but have formed a bond and the lady next door takes care of them. The house/kitchen is well equiped and we were very thankful for the space below to dry all our camping gear! We judge the quality of the VRBOs by the wine glasses or lack thereof! There were LOTS of wine glasses and a fabulous wine bottle opener - we want one just like it. Just one note - the mattresses are very firm for those who like a softer mattress recommend bringing a topper to soften the sleep. We would definitely recommend this property. The owners and property Manager were wonderful to work with. There is an excellent grocery store in Buxton. And we HIGHLY recommend Pop's Raw Bar. Great food for a great price. It's a tiny whole in the wall place but it is worth it! Not a family oriented place or for large groups. They have the Fish House across the street for those. We would definitely stay here again!!!
We have spent many summer vacations in the OBX and have never stayed in the same house twice except for Kapt'n Kelly's! This was our 3rd visit in 4 years. It just feels like home!
The views from the top deck are fabulous all day long, but the sunsets are AMAZING!!!
We bring our two dogs and they LOVE to run the decks and watch the shorebirds flying by and diving. There are ducks in the area that the lady next door feeds. We made the mistake of letting the dogs out when they were near (oops)...so then my daughter was fetching a 65 lb German Shorthaired Pointer from 50 yards into the sound and the ducks scattered! LOL
Our teenage girls love the hot tub and the house is big enough we don't even know they are there!
Judy is a fabulous property manager, very attentive to your needs and requests. She represents the owners well.
Can't wait to book our next adventure!
