About Clifton and Darra Dukes
Our family has been boating for years and have dreamed of getting a second home on the water. This year we finally realized that dream and purchased the cabin in Logsdon Landing.
Clifton and Darra Dukes purchased this Cabin in 2011
Why Clifton and Darra Dukes chose Clarkson
We purchased this cabin at Nolin Lake because it is a beautiful lake that is perfect for water sports.
What makes this Cabin unique

Wonderful family getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We came for spring break and stayed for 4 nights. The beds were comfortable, linens clean, and there’s plenty of room. We loved the fireplace and playing outside. It is very secluded, although there are going to be more properties built and construction is underway already. There was some construction traffic on the private road over the weekend. The reasons I did not give five stars are minor. The wood floors are very loud and squeaky on the upper level- like beyond normal wood floor noise. There are some things that need repair - light fixtures, wall holes, etc. The pots and pans in the kitchen are not adequate as the nonstick coating is very scratched and worn so many of them can not be used. There was basically one pan that was acceptable, so this was a bummer, since I typically cook all our meals when we are away. There were several cigarette butts all over the property outside, so we had to be careful that our dogs did not eat them. Overall we really enjoyed our time and would stay here again. It is a fabulous cabin experience - very cozy, comfortable, quiet/secluded, and spacious.
Perfect family Holiday get together!
This cabin was just the right size for my family to meet for Christmas - a bathroom on each level was perfect, and the Christmas tree was an added treat. My older kids enjoyed having the lower level to themselves, and the adults and grandparents had the upstairs, or napped on the many comfy couches. The cabin felt rustic, but not too rustic. It was well heated (it was December!) and clean - and the kitchen was lovely and very up to date. My main suggestions would be to provide more silverware, we barely had enough, and while there were a number of TV's, we could only get the one in the family room to work. But we were there for family time, not electronic time (no wifi as described, and cell service was limited.) Thank you Dukes, for sharing your cabin!
Roomy comfy cabin in isolated setting near lake (or drained lakebed depending on season)
Very comfortable roomy cabin with fireplace and fire pit and porches and cushy couches. Near Nolan Lake (walking distance) but lake is drained seasonally apparently because was dry/muddy lakebed with shallow creek in Dec. Hot showers, big fridge, nice dishwasher and washer/dryer makes this a good home away from home. Basement a bit drafty (weatherstripping would be good) so bring a sweater. The kitchen lacks enough silverware and cups given the # of BRs-there were only 4 of us and we had to hand wash silverware for meals (and we bought 4 wine glasses since there were none). Ample towels and soap for DW and clothes. If you are a nervous driver get there in daylight and stay in your lane-roads are very narrow. Also follow written directions-GPS will lead you astray. Overall very nice and would stay there again.
Large cabin in the woods
Great place to go for relaxing. Remote large cabin in the woods. Ten people in our family met there for Thanksgiving. We stayed 3 nights and had plenty of room. Fully functional kitchen. 1/2 hour from Mammoth Cave. Great fire pit. We built a fire each day and had s'mores. Also, there was a washer and dryer that we could use. There is Direct TV in the family room and another TV in the walkout basement the plays DVDs. Nice porch in the front and one in the back. The only problem was that one of the three bathroom toilets was not working.
Great secluded and peaceful. Needs some TLC maintenance; grill is worthless and only 1 tv of 4 was w
Water was very low for winter pool; tv 1 of4 were useable; no wi fi otherwise great for privacy peace and quiet
Very Clean, modern conveniences in a great log cabin. A bit far from Mammoth Cave Visitor Center, but not an issue.
Mammoth Cave National Park, Corvette Manufacturing Plant and Museum, Beech Bend Park, Kentucky Down Under, Dinosaur World, Historic Glendale Arts and Antiques, Cub Run Cave, local music festivals, and much more.
