We are a family of 4 that have always wanted to buy in beautiful Clifton Beach and we hope you enjoy our beautiful beach front house as much as we do.
Brent Wilson purchased this house in 2008
Far North Queensland is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. There is the Great Barrier Reef to snorkel or dive on, there are pristine white beaches to walk along and swim at, there are 5 star restaurants along with great family places to dine and the climate is ideal all year round. We purchased this house because it sits right on the beach at beautiful Clifton Beach and our family love the area and the laid back atmosphere.
Clifton Beach is positioned perfectly for many family activities including the Cairns Tropical ZOO, golf course's that are listed in the top 50 golf courses in Australia, Hartley's crocodile farm, daily cruises out to one of the modern wonders of the world the Great Barrier Reef plus many other daily activities to entertain your family. Otherwise you can relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches and climate.
We loved staying in this house for a week with four adults and four kids! It's in a quiet area right across the street from a lovely beach. There's a kids play gym just a few steps away, as well as a netted swimming area. It's an easy drive to Cairns or Port Douglas. The house itself was spotlessly clean and well maintained, and had everything we needed for our stay. Brent and Narelle were helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay (July 2013). The location is excellent, right across the street from a quiet beach; this was really one of the best features of the house. We mostly had the beach to ourselves although plenty of people walked or jogged by because it's on a beautiful stretch leading up to Palm Cove. It was also a central location for many other activities; 35 minutes from Port Douglas, 20 minutes from Cairns.
The inside was very nice; two rooms with a king bed in one and queen in the other and one room with 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4 and was good for the kids). It was plenty big enough for us; we ate breakfast there most mornings unless we were out early on an excursion. The kitchen is not large but fine and had good appliances. Nice sofas and a large screen TV. There was also a dryer which we used most days.
The pool was a bit smaller than it looked in the picture but that's fine when you have the beach 30 feet from your front door. It was a quiet neighborhood and we felt safe. It has a small town type feel.
We highly recommend the house and have done that with our friends who said they're interested in visiting the Great Barrier Reef.
My family met up in Cairns following the Melbourne Iron Man race, flying in from the U.S. and Japan. We have small children and were looking for a family friendly location to relax and sight see. The Clifton house was fantastic for our needs. It was 20 minutes from the Cairns airport and close to a wild life park, crocodile farm, the Kuranda sky rail, and Tjapukai cultural village. It was 25 minutes to the port for Barrier Reef excursions. Our girls loved the beach just steps away with the netted swimming area close by. The pool was lovely, the house comfortable with amenities to meet our needs. We loved sitting on the porch playing games. The nearby playground and foot bridge were entertainment for our children. Restaurants and a shopping store were minutes away. The owners were great, called to check in with us, and allowed us to check in early in the morning after an international flight. If we return to Cairns, we'll be back to visit Clifton.
Well equipped home with lots of charm. Nice, quiet, location...close to the beach.
Firstly, the location of this home couldn't be any better. The beautiful sandy beach and playground kept our kids happy and busy for hours. The house itself looks much smaller than it is. There was plenty of room for our two families which included 3 adults, 4 teens and an 11yr old. The house was complete with every bath and kitchen item we needed including starters of coffee, tea, milk etc. and lots of other little extras you don't normally see or expect. It was clean, and while not a new house it has been redone to perfection so that it is modern and inviting. The owners were quick to respond with any questions we had. The only caution is that parking is a bit tight for 2 larger sized cars. Overall, our stay at this house will remain one of our best memories of our trip to Australia, and if we ever get a chance to return, staying here again will be our very first choice.
We stayed at the Clifton Beach house for one week following a convention in Brisbane we attended. The location of the house is excellent, in a quiet residential area, with the beach across across the local road, a small patch of rainforest in the back, and within 5 min. drive to the local shopping center. The house has high quality basics needed for a comfortable stay in tropics: it's airconditioned, has well equipped kitchen with a new fridge, a small pool, and broadband Internet. There were very few people on the beach for most of the week (on the weekend we could see more of local families) leaving us with the luxury of having the beach almost to ourselves. We did a 3 days trip to Cape Trib (excellent snorkeling close to the beach) and Port Douglas (great Sunday market), and it was a pleasure after days spent in a rustic cabin in the rainforest to come back to our air conditioned "home".
