About Federico

Hi, I'm Federico,

I really love that wonderful town/aerea... and I just like to share this place with people from all over the world- who wants to live a REAL Tuscan experience. Be welcome!

Federico purchased this villa in 2009

What makes this villa unique

Descending amongst woodland and through parched brooks, then slowly upwards again along the hedgerows. You could hear the flutter of a bird escaping in fright. On occasion you could hear a trill piercing the air, then silence almost at once... [Dina Ferri, Radicondoli 1908-Siena 1930]

Guestbook comments from the owner

Villa Muraia is a very beautiful place. We were two couples and found the Villa to be a great size and very well equiped. The view from the terrace was exceptional. We spent many an hour in our lounge chairs overlooking the Tuscan countryside.

Radicondoli was a great base to explore Chianti, Florence, Siena and the town's people made us feel very welcome.

Outstanding

We stayed here for the first time last year and it was so clear for us to return. This place is so special that you will never want to leave. The villa is spacious, has a wonderful garden and stunning views over the tuscan landscape. In the village you will find two small grocery shops and three restaurants. If you want to cater yourself, no problem, the villa is equipped with what you need. The owner and his family is very friendly and hospitable. So the only mistake you can do is not to go there!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 3 (one teenager) stayed at Villa Muraia for one week in July. We were amazed upon arrival of how nicely tucked away the villa is from the village and how gorgeous it was, inside and out. The views are breath taking, the large garden and patio area with areas of shade and outdoor shower to cool off, and the thoughtful landscaping (loved the large glass containers scattered around). Inside was just as nice - beautifully decorated, large bedrooms each with a modern large bathroom. It was sometimes hard to leave to go sightseeing because the villa was so nice. We did visit the smaller towns around Radicondoli (Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra, Monteriggioni) which were all very nice, although I found S.G. a bit too touristy. We swam in the river about a 1/2 hour drive from the villa to get some relief from the heat. (note, the villa itself stays cool inside as it's made of stone and very thick walls). We ate a couple of times in Radicondoli at the Nazionale Restaurant which was very good both times. The other two restaurants in the village also looked very good (the Pergola Restaurant sits above the villa so it's nice to hear the hustle & bustle of the restaurant in the evenings). Overall, a great place to stay if you like a small, non touristy, authentic village as a base. The owners of the property were very nice and easy to work with. To put a cherry on top of our experience, would have been to have a pool on the property, but I would not let the lack of pool deter from renting this villa. It is awesome!

A piece of heaven in beautiful Tuscany!

  • 5 of 5

Pride of ownership is so evident from the moment you drive through the gates! The beautiful gardens overflowing with flowers, the terrace with it's magnificent views of the Tuscan hills, and the villa.....stunning! Beautifully decorated, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms with all the amenities you could ever want in a vacation home. Villa Muraia stole our hearts! After a day of sight-seeing, it was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets from the terrace. Radicondoli is a delightful hilltop town (well worth the drive!) with friendly and welcoming people and great restaurants serving awesome local dishes. Would we return? Most definitely! A big thank you to Federico and his family for sharing their beautiful home with us.

Villa Muraia, a perfect place to call your home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

The villa was the perfect place to celebrate our 40th anniversary!

We loved the village, and found the people to be so friendly. Great little restaurants only a minutes walk. The Coop, where you can buy basic needs and then some, just a short walk into the village!

Sitting outside on the patio enjoying the magnificent view, sipping a glass of Chianti, planning our next day's trip. Siena, Pisa, Greve in Chianti. Villa Muraia was the perfect home base.

The villa itself was cozy and clean, and more than spacious for two. The most relaxing part of our trip to Italy was spent at Villa Muraia, in Radicondoli.

Thank you Federico for sharing your lovely villa with us.

Lovely

  • 5 of 5

Villa Muraia was a perfect base for our time in Tuscany. Though the town was very quiet during our off-season stay there, it is an excellent location for day trips to many of the surrounding areas (Volterra, Florence...). The villa is clean, well-equipped and cozy. It was perfect for our family of four. Unfortunately, it was very rainy during our stay. I can only imagine a sunset from that amazing perch in Radicondoli. The view of the countryside is breath-taking! Rain or shine, we felt fortunate to have such a lovely stay and only wished we had more time...

Idyllic

  • 5 of 5

The villa is immaculate and well-appointed. The best part is the panoramic view and the large shaded lawn/garden. The location within the village is great, and Radicondoli was a nice home-base for exploring the area. I would return here in a heartbeat. The owners are very friendly and accommodating.
