We're Hokies, but we don't care if your collegiate allegiance is to the Hokies, Wahoos, Spiders, Monarchs, or Dukes because we know Virginia is for Lovers! And, you'll love our Snowshoe Mountain Lodge with its spectacular view and unforgettable sunsets. Our beautifully decorated home has 5 bedrooms/4 baths (no waiting).
The entry level has a place to sit and put on/take off and store your gear. There is also a full bath on this level.
The lower level has one bedroom with two queen beds, one bedroom with one queen bed, and one bedroom with two twin beds. The lower level also has a den; a place for the kids to have their own space. The main level has a living room with fireplace and spacious kitchen with large dining table for eight to twelve people. The master bedroom on the main level has a king bed and full bath with separate tub and shower. There is a third floor loft bedroom with queen bed and full bath. There is a large deck off the living room with spectacular views.
This is not a condo with tiny bedrooms squeezed into the square footage to maximize rental. This is a large home with lots of elbow room.
Snowshoe provides a free shuttle which picks you up at the driveway and takes you to the Village. It is a 5 minute ride to the village. The house is located on the Western Territory (Cupp Run).
Note: We now have free WiFi and free long distance calling.
This was a great place to stay for two families (room for 12). Snow was falling as we arrived and we received a total of 16 inches during our stay. Three of the bedrooms, a bathroom, and a family room are on the lowest level which made it a great area for all the kids. At the entry level is another bathroom and plenty of space to put all your boots. Up a level to the main floor is the great room with a wood fireplace, large eat in kitchen, washer/dryer, and large master suite. Up another level is another private bedroom and bath. We thoroughly enjoyed the wood fireplace and playing games (games provided) at the large kitchen table. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would need and the house was very spacious. Each room has it's own electric thermostat which was wonderful. The back deck has a beautiful view of the mountains and it was a great place to feed the local deer carrots and apples. The property was very clean and well maintained and they provided plenty of towels. I would highly recommend staying at this private house over staying in the crowded village. With just a simple phone call, the smaller shuttle buses pick you up from the top of the driveway. No need to wait in long shuttle lines for the large village school-like buses. When you are done skiing, you simply call the shuttle again and it returns you to the house. The ski barn located at the end of N Westridge has better prices on renting ski equipment than the village. They also give military discounts and are open until 11 pm at night. I would recommend buying your lift tickets in advance to get the discount pricing. Make sure you have a front wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle when coming to Snowshoe. We enjoyed the beautiful private location and can't wait to come back again. It was the best family ski vacation!
