Southwestern Colorado House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Welcome to beautiful Gunnison Colorado!

My family has been vacationing or living in Gunnison since the 40's. I am proud to be a part of the third generation who calls Gunnison my second home. Gunnison lies in beautiful countryside surrounded by mountains that provide amazing outdoor recreation, relaxing weather and vast wilderness.

The house is located on the west end of town convenient to everything yet quiet and relaxing. Just outside the doorstep you can easily access Crested Butte, Curecanti National Recreation Area, Blue Mesa Reservoir, Hartman Rocks, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, Taylor Reservoir and Western State College. Access is easy using Gunnison Airport-a popular stop for private planes and commuter airlines.

An outdoorsman’s paradise, the Gunnison valley offers Gold Medal rivers and lakes, which are home to numerous state records and fishing tales of enormous proportion. Trophy elk & deer units abound within a day’s trip, as well as open space and national forest accesses that are unmatchable.

The house is fully furnished with all the amenities. 3 sizeable bedrooms offer ample sleeping room and are newly remodeled. The comfortable and neutral décor provides a relaxing and restful environment for you and your family. A spacious kitchen and outdoor cooking space enable you to provide your own meals and grill the catch of a lifetime as you have a cocktail on the deck overlooking the water.

Skiers come and save money by staying in Gunnison!! You are only 35 minutes from Crested Butte Mountain with nearly 400 inches of snow annually! The powder will be smacking you in the face while others are still driving up the hill.

When you get to Crested Butte, be sure visit my mother at McGill’s Restaurant, the greatest breakfast spot in the valley! Located just off Elk Avenue.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Drew.

The house was great. My mother, who came with us, thought the house was very nice. It worked out great for our family!!! We'll defintely keep you in mind again for next year when we head up there again to play hockey. Also I'll pass on your information to some of the other parents who would be coming up for hockey as well next season.

Great visit to Gunnison.

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic time in Gunnison! This home is just as described. It is close to town, has a lovely where we watched the ducks, a fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of space. While we only needed the two downstairs bedrooms for two couples, we are hoping to bring a third couple with us next year since there is a full and a twin bed in the loft upstairs.

The only problem that we had was minor, the key was bent when we arrived. This made it difficult to unlock and relock the front door. This is an easy fix - I hope they just make a new copy!

Graduation weekend

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable home. We were in town for our son's graduation. It was wonderful to wake to a wonderful sunrise and a warm cup of coffee on the deck. My in-laws remarked more than once how comfortable they were while there. This home was very clean and met our expectations.

Comfortable house in great location

  • 4 of 5

Clean, comfortable house with good sized rooms and plenty of towels, sheets and kitchen supplies. The location is ideal for going to Blue Mesa Reservoir and for being close to everything in town. The bedroom upstairs was great for the older "kids" to use. It would be nice to have an outside table on the back deck but we still enjoyed having the outside space. Even though it is close to the homes on both sides, it is quiet and feels more separated from them.

Gunnison

  • 3 of 5

The place was good for us. It was very close to other houses and not as private as we had expected. The dryer did not work so we had to do laundry commercially. We would rent this location again.
