Sitting high in a secluded location on Inverness Ridge, built in 2009-10, this is a professionally designed and decorated contemporary 940 sq. foot home with full kitchen, master bedroom, upstairs sleeping loft with 2 trundle beds (Two twin beds each with a pull-out trundle with mattress), hot tub, and many luxurious extras. The most extraordinary feature of this lovely and serene home is the breathtaking view of the California coastline from Inverness to Bodega Bay.
Enjoy gorgeous sunsets and sunrises from ample upstairs and downstairs decks, living room, and master bedroom. The view fills everyone with a sense of possibility and deep calm. A great place to watch the weather roll in or listen to the lovely sounds of birdsong that waft up from the canyon below. Each window frames a portrait of Tomales Bay or ridge top forests. The property is very private, near the end of a private cul de sac, with plenty of parking. It is a short walk (.30 miles) to the Pt. Reyes National Seashore trail system. Come back from your hike or day trip to any one of many local pristine beaches and unwind on the comfortable and large window seat or extra comfy chaise-sofa.
The well-appointed master bedroom has its own deck, access to hot tub, and outdoor shower. Extremely comfortable new king size bed with Calvin Klein designer bedding in restful shades of green and grey. Very serene and the ultimate place to relax and unwind.
Kitchen is fully stocked and is furnished with top of the line appliances in case you have a gourmet cook in your group. Upstairs kids' sleeping loft. Many games & puzzles for fun family times. New Sony Bravia flat screen HDTV with blue-ray DVD system. Bose IPOD sound-dock. Wireless & unlimited telephone help you stay in touch with the outside world if you must. The house is well built, sturdy, and solid, yet has a magical feeling of floating in the treetops.
It is perfect for a romantic getaway for a couple or a fun and adventure filled time away for a small family.
Dan and Barb Easterlin. We lived on the property for several years until 1995, the year our first child was born. We love visiting Point Reyes -- the beaches, the hiking trails, the Douglas Firs and Cypress. We feel lucky to have the new cabin, perched on Inverness Ridge -- and are so happy to share it with others who might also enjoy the peaceful and restorative energy this place offers.
Dan Easterlin purchased this house in 1991
The property is adjacent to Pt. Reyes National Seashore -- many beautiful beaches, hiking trails, and wild life. We have owned the property for nearly 20 years and just built this small weekend house this year.
hiking, quiet, extraordinary views, family time, watching blu-ray movies on the new HDTV, spending time in the hot tub relaxing.
True to the description, this wonderful home has amazing views that can be seen from every corner of each room! This place is secluded, quite, and one with nature. Hiking trails were nearby, we saw deer from the deck one morning. The home is very well equip with internet and a gourmet kitchen and all the elements needed for cooking a wonderful meal. The living room and bedroom were all super comfortable with a real luxury feeling. As described, the place was very clean and had plenty of supplies (towels, etc). This place is perfect and I look forward to returning again and again!
My husband and I stayed here for our first anniversary, and the home and the view were just as wonderful as the photos show. We hiked from a trailhead within walking distance of the house, shucked oysters on the deck, and sat in the hot tub while the fog rolled in. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, and the house was immaculately clean. Dan contacted us before our trip to let us know that the new dryer wouldn't be working yet and gave us a gift certificate to Stellina in Pt. Reyes Station as compensation. We only stayed three nights, so the lack of a dryer was not a problem for us, but Dan's consideration was much appreciated.
That consideration was no surprise by that point, though, because Dan had already shown us so much compassion when we booked our stay. My father-in-law is ill, and we might have needed to cancel our trip at the last minute. I planned to get travel insurance but discovered it would not have covered our situation. When I asked Dan about the cancellation policy and explained why we might need to change our plans, he very generously adjusted his rental agreement so we would be able to stay without worrying about the cost of cancellation. Fortunately, we didn't need to cancel our trip, and we are so glad we were able to celebrate our first anniversary here.
A very comfortable house, open and nicely furnished, with a bath, well-equipped kitchen, and living room on the entry level and a bedroom and bath downstairs and deck on each level, hot tub on lower level deck. We had complete privacy and quiet. The view was the highlight for us -- with the fog rolling in and out over miles of bay, hills, and trees.
A wonderful stay! The minute you walk in the door the view knocks you off your feet, all troubles melt away. Such a feeling of expansiveness .. the bay, ocean, pine forest, complete privacy ... are all sublime. Conveniently located to all areas of the park. Clean, perfectly appointed accommodations, down to each thoughtful detail. The hosts are .... kind, attentive, responsive ... and have great taste in music 😊. Don't miss their iPod playlist. Thank you for a real good time!
This home is a special small property with astounding views. There may be as much deck space as living space, which is amazing. The kitchen is well furnished and the house is clean and comfortable. It is close to Point Reyes Station so restaurants and grocery stores are easily accessible. We very much enjoyed relaxing in this home.
so isolated, such great views, so peaceful. the hot tub, heated floors, blankets, king sized bed, outdoor shower... only thing missing was a fire place. but honestly, this place was on such a gorgeous plot of land, the views made up for anything and everything. a fantastic stay.
