The property looks down on the Nottley River which is approximately 200 feet below at the edge of the property. In a large field across the river, deer, turkeys and geese can be seen from the deck in early morning and at sunset.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time at the Nottley River Retreat. This is a beautiful, warm and charming cabin with beautiful views. It feels very private and secluded and you have amazing views of fields and the river. We especially loved the hot tub and the wonderful porch where we ate most of our meals. The accomodations are very comfortable with a great bed in the master bedroom and a very comfortable couch with a huge tv. The kitchen has all the needs for cooking while on vacation. There is great wi-fi service as well. The location is great. There were lots of areas to explore and fun local culture. There are lots of hiking options nearby and even a little further out. There were great dining options not too far away (we would HIGHLY recommend the Copper Door in Hayesville, NC...amazing fine dining!) This was exactly the kind of getaway accomodations we were looking for and would definitely stay again in the future. We unequivocally would recommend the Notley Retreat!

Great View and Comfortable stay!!

  • 5 of 5

I loved the stay at this cabin. The view is spectacular. The local area is so nice with great restaurants. The beds are comfortable and all the comforts of home are available. The two things that I feel are needed are 1. to block both sides of the deck, so that the dogs next door cannot come on the deck and into the cabin as we are unloading and loading and also to keep my dog for being bothered. They are sweet dogs but we didn't want them to follow us in the cabin. Also if we could get the code to get into the local channels the next time we are there. Other than that everything was perfect!! Thanks for a wonderful stay!!

Lovely home with great outdoor space and views.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time relaxing in this home. Everything we needed was available. Owner even spent some time on phone with me when I had trouble operating the TV, it was user error. The neighborhood has great access roads and my husband and I enjoyed walking and chatting with folks. The view was multi faceted as there were mountains, river and meadow views all from the same deck. We would definitely consider renting again and would recommend to friends.

We miss this place. It was a great place to relax, unwind, calling the Turkeys across the river from the back porch, while drinking a cup of coffee in the early, cool morning, and listen to the river run down stream

Awesome...home away from home

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying in this beautiful cabin! It felt like home. Beautiful views! We were able to see all types of wildlife including several deer and plenty of wild turkeys. The sunsets were breathtaking & each one was different. Hot tub was so relaxing not to mention the constant soothing sound of the rushing river. The elderly women enjoyed the cabin as well. They were able to move around easily & enjoyed the back deck overlooking the river. They loved sitting in the wonderful rocking chairs & watching all the wildlife that surrounded us. They counted 50 turkeys & at one point we all spotted 5 deer in the pasture across the river. The kitchen & bathrooms have everything you need & more. Bath towels, hand towels & wahclothes provided. Extra sheets, pillowcases & blankets were also provided. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. There are even enough pillows for my pillow loving friend. We had a blast building fires in the fire pit & just being in the moment. We enjoyed being off the beaten path & the only traffic you might hear is a neighbor. Ceiling fans were greatly appreciated for all of us hormonal women. Lol. Really enjoyed the flat screen tv & the leather sectional. Gas fireplace was easy to run & makes it even more homey. I don't know if I've covered all the bases but I believe this cabin is the best one I've stayed in so far! Raymond was very helpful & answered all questions promptly. He was extremely courteous in any given situation. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We will definitely be back again!
