Spinner dolphins, whales, surfers, boogie boarders and that is just what you will see from your lanai! Inside you can relax in our newly renovated, air-conditioned condo. You may not want to stay inside much though because there is so much to do in the area including snorkeling at the beach just next door. It will be a long remembered vacation which you will want to repeat.
This comfortable condo has a newly remodeled, completely equipped kitchen. We are continually updating furniture. (This year we put in a gorgeous new shower.) This end unit has extra windows giving plenty of light. It is the most convenient location in the complex: just steps from the pool, BBQs, and covered parking. Internet and domestic long distance calling are provided at no cost in the unit as well as snorkels, fins, beach chairs, umbrella, etc. for fun at the beach.
Shopping, restaurants and a spectacular farmers' market are only a few minutes walk. We have a lovely beach next to the complex and the famous Disappearing Sands beach only two miles down the road. Go a little further and find more fish than you can imagine while you snorkel at Kahaluu.
Here we are on the lanai looking at the surfers with our beautiful grand-daughter Evelyn. We live in Livermore, California, for ten months of the year and enjoy the Big Island for the other two. We purchased our unit in 2003 and have enjoyed it even more than we expected. Since we have retired, we like to have projects. Chuck and his brother put in the cabinets in the kitchen. I got to do the tiling and painting.

Being an end unit, we have the extra windows giving lots of light. The lanai is shaded in the afternoon so that you have a wonderful ocean view, and the temperature is perfect. We are close to town so we leave our car in the lot and walk to restaurants, farmers' market, the pier, the ice cream shop, et cetera.
One of our favorite activities is our mini-ironman...we run to the pier in the morning(part of the marathon section of the Ironman), and then swim out to the third or fourth buoy (a very small part of the swimming section of the Ironman). Then we walk home stopping at Bruce's (Java on the Rock) for a latte nui loa.
We also enjoy the Aloha Stroll through town on the third Sunday of the month.
We spent our entire time in the immediate area and loved the location. Lots of places withing walking distance and a short drive to Safeway for food shopping although the ABC Store is convenient for those smaller, needed items that can be obtained without driving. Unit is clean, comfortable and well furnished. Ample supply of towels, spices and laundry stuff. Lots of local information is in the condo so one doesn't need to bring extra materials or collect the airport magazines. Plus it is quiet with a nice view from the lanai. Good parking is available that is off street and covered if one so desires to utilize the garage area. Although the reviews are mixed, we enjoyed the Habaneros Grill, a very short walk away.
My husband and I stayed here for the Ironman, the condo is the perfect location - walkable to everything yet quiet, easy access to the beach, great view and clean. Carol also has it stocked with anything you would need for the week. Carol was a wonderful host, readily available to answer any questions. They were even out on the Ironman course cheering!!! We would love to stay here again when we visit Kona - thank you so much for hosting us!
Can't wait to do this all over again. The only thing we would change is the length of stay. We would make it longer.
Carol was the perfect VRBO owner as she communicated with us at any time. We had absolutely zero issues with her condo.

I had a great time here in Kona – the kitchen was perfect and had everything I needed; it was so nice to have a washer and dryer; the bed was comfortable; and the location was fantastic – within easy walking distance to all the great restaurants and happenings downtown!
Carol was super nice and accommodating, and she responded immediately and kept on top of everything. Check in and everything was so easy!
One of my favourite things about this unit was the blender – it is old and well-used, but don't let it fool you... it's a workhorse and makes amazing smoothies from fresh tropical farmers market fruit down the street!! Also, I'd recommend catching the sunset on the lawn down by the ocean. It's a gorgeous location and so peaceful!
This condo was exactly as expected from the listing, and more. The kitchen had everything we needed, and it was great to have a laundry in the unit. Several restaurants, bars, and shops within easy walking distance.
Everything you need except food is provided, plus a welcome basket that surprised us. We thought because we were located near the busy road it might be noisy, but were pleasantly surprised that it was very quiet at night. Beautiful sunset the night before we left. We loved listening to the waves while sleeping on the very comfortable bed.
