This bright, modern suite is the first floor of a house, and was professionally renovated and soundproofed in the Spring of 2012. The suite is all above ground with full-height ceilings, spacious, and very bright and spacious.
The suite includes two "wings" - each with one bedroom and one bathroom - so that two couples, or members of a larger family, may have privacy when they wish. One of the wings also has a small single bed perfect for children and guests.
In addition, there are two double sofa beds in the living room.
The entrance is separate, facing a private and fully-fenced garden.
Each bedroom has a queen size bed with a high end mattress and wonderful sheets.
With hardwood floors and tile throughout, the suite is fully furnished and equipped with high quality bedding, towels, plates, cutlery (Henkles, Denby, Nautica) in a warm, modern style. The suite has its own laundry (modern front loading Maytag machines), built-in vacuum system, and a Webber BBQ.
The home is one kilometer from beach access, and 1.4 kilometers from Mount Douglas Park. Downtown is only a 15 min drive. UVIC is only 4 Km away. The street nearby (Ash Road) is a main Bus route for an easy ride to Uvic and Downtown Victoria.
As a person who has travelled widely and enjoyed vacation rentals, I have come to appreciate what makes an excellent get-away. I have taken the best ideas from Europe and South America, and used them to create an oasis in the city for you.

We booked this unit via website and had only seen it after we officially moved from Ontario. Found the layout, furnitures and all other stuff as it was mentioned to us. We had been calling to Owners to get some details prior to our move and they had been always kind to accept our calls and very helpful.
House has been nicely furnished and kept. Very clean unit with a separate room for the kid. We also had our guests lived with us for quite a long time but the unit provides that privacy. Nice backyard and lots of fruit trees that we enjoyed whole summer. Walking distance to school and the bus route to downtown made the life easy.
Overall well furnished and a nice unit. Pleasabt stay. Loved the owners, they are great people.
We have truly enjoyed our stay in this little piece of Nirvana. The backyard is a sanctuary where hummingbirds visit in the morning and the evening. This is a wonderful setting for breakfast, lunch and supper. The trees and flowers surrounding the garden make it a blissful retreat. If one listens, you can also hear the family of deer arrive in the front yard and you can view the deer as they visit the peaceful neighbourhood.
The beach, located in Mt. Douglas Park, is a 1.6 km walk away. It is a stunning view to behold. Mt. Douglas is just down the road from the beach and one can either walk or drive to the summit. We walked up the side to enjoy the panoramic view during the day and then drove up in late evening to watch the sunset.
The house itself has everything you would need to feel at home. My family has felt like we belonged here from the moment we arrived. There is ample room for sleep, privacy and relaxing. We have enjoyed the luxury of two baths, a washer and dryer and the availability of space. The appliances are all modern and all the necessities to make meals are available. The unit is beautiful. We have enjoyed many moments here as a family and we will recommend it to family and friends.
We have met Stephen a few times and he is funny and warm. I have enjoyed the talks I have had with him and you can tell he loves this area.
The location is minutes away from downtown harbour, a short drive to Sidney and nearby shopping malls.
Again, this place is amazing. We have loved every minute here.
Thanks Fernanda and Steve for sharing this Oasis in Victoria. Recently my husband and I had to be in Victoria for medical reasons. The suite had everything we needed to make our 7 week stay feel like home. Inside and outside was way beyond our expectations. The location is excellent just an easy 15-20 minutes drive to the Jubilee and 15-20 minutes to downtown. The walking trails and amenities close by were excellent Mount Doug has many trails to explore and you can walk to the beach along the trails. I would certainly recommend this rental suite to anyone wanting to spend time in Victoria.
I spent several happy months in Fernanda's suite this past year. It proved to be an excellent location for our little family, with easy access to the Uvic campus where I was working and to the many wonderful parks and amenities that Victoria has on offer. Our kids loved the trails of nearby Mt. Doug. My three year old daughter was convinced that fairies lived in the magical woods behind Fernanda's house, and dragged us out on many a night walk in search of them! The suite itself was spotless, and Fernanda had it ready and well-equipped with all the little comforts that one might like when away from home for any length of time. Needless to say, we were delighted for the chance to stay here, and would more than recommend the suite (and the lovely Fernanda!) to you.
We spent one month together with our Kids (8yrs, 12yrs) in Fernanda's place and felt extremely comfortable and at home from day one!
The apartment is conveniently located with about 10 min to the next beach, a nice Shopping mall and the University, and around 20 min to downtown (easy drive). It is a very calm and quiet neighbourhood right at the foot of Mt. Douglas (if you get a chance, walk up the hill - you will be rewarded with a stupendous view over the City).
The apartment is fully equipped with everything you can think of (or would have at home). We really enjoyed that a lot, as it made our long stay so smooth and easy, moreover, it felt like home! There was nothing that we would have missed in the 3,5 weeks we spent there. The interior is decorated very tastefully and contemporary. The fact that we had a completely separate entrance was very comfortable, as we had our privacy and were sure that we would also not disturb our hosts.
Fernanda is a very experienced host who had prepared a lot of Information for her guests, so we enjoyed her restaurant suggestions, practical information for getting around in Victoria, etc. A side comment: the Internet connection in the apartment is totally reliable and very quick, important for us, as we had to partly work during out stay.
All in all - a perfect experience! We have already booked the place for our next year's trip to Victoria.
A beautifully presented apartment, really well situated for Uvic, in a quiet and very pleasant residential road. I stayed (with the family) while visiting Uvic for two weeks and we all enjoyed the excellent facilities (the well appointed kitchen provided in the apartment is a real rarity in rental accommodation), the lovely backyard with the gas BBQ, and the proximity to the beautiful Mount Doug park (a climb up to the top to see the 360 deg view is a must). Great trails for a morning or evening run as well.
The apartment is about 15 minutes from downtown by car, but close to the all usual shops. Very handy for Uvic (5 minutes by car or 15 minutes bike ride). There was a bike which Fernanda very kindly let me use.
Fernanda was an excellent host. We had a very minor issue that she resolved very quickly.
