Victor Idaho, is at the South end of the Valley, and forms the gateway to, the beautiful Teton Valley - 'The Quiet Side of the Tetons'.

This is a cozy, two level home, three bedrooms on main floor with a king size in master and one queen and bunks for 3 singles.

Lower level equipped with 2 queen size bed. Full bathroom will be convenient for these two bedrooms. This home will sleep comfortably 4 couples and 3 singles. Addition charge of $10.00 per person per night. limit of 11 people. Home does not have air conditioning.

Just over the Teton Pass (40 minutes), Jackson Hole offers one of the nation's most renowned ski resorts, and access to the Teton Mountains from the east. The town of Jackson is abundant with museums, restaurants, theater and night life - presented in the famous 'wild-west' cowboy style of Jackson. Jackson Hole offers exciting white-water rafting, or scenic river tours; many top-tier golf courses and fly-fishing on the Snake River. Active types will perhaps wish to ride their mountain bikes or climb the mountains. More relaxed activities might be valley hiking and wildlife viewing. Jackson Hole is the gateway to Grand Teton National Park - where the activities are too many to explore here.

Lying at the foot of Teton Pass, Victor is equi-distant to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Grand Targhee Ski and Summer Resort. The latter is a 'boutique' resort offering a more family-friendly skiing environment - but don't tell the hard-core locals. Grand Targhee also offers a plethora of summer activities for all family members, and spectacular chairlift rides to the summit of Fred's Mountain.

Victor is within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and the Yellowstone National Park entrance is only 95 minutes away, while the South entrance to Grand Teton National Park is about 45 minutes.

The nearby town of Driggs is the Teton County seat, and, between them, Victor and Driggs give access to a wealth of other Teton Valley activities, including world-class golf, fly-fishing, mountain biking and much more. There are charming local restaurants offering health-food and pizzerias; sports bars with live music and there's a superb Thai food eatery.

A large and modern grocery store in Driggs will supply you with an abundance of high-quality provisions, while 'The Victor Market' is an excellent small-town grocery, serving whole foods, health foods and excellent sandwiches, salads and soups from the deli; and both towns are well supplied with stores for all other needs - including irresistible Huckleberry milk shakes at two classic corner drug stores.

About Hill Property Management / Claudia Hill

Hi, Im the home owner, Fred and Kim Wright

We live in the small town of Ohiopyle, located in the Laurel Highlands of southwestern Pennsylvania. As a family, we enjoy many outdoor activities including fishing, biking, hiking, whitewater rafting, and skiing.

Hill Property Management / Claudia Hill purchased this house in 2009

Why Hill Property Management / Claudia Hill chose Teton Valley Area

We are just in love with the 'Wright Pleasant Cabin' in Victor. Our joy of fishing, hiking, skiing, biking and peaceful neighborhoods and towns lead us to 'the quiet side of the Tetons'. We find this small town to have a welcoming feel, with easy acess to restaurants, groceries, and all of the outdoor activities we love.

What makes this house unique

We chose Victor because it gives us the choice of skiing at either Grand Targhee or Jackson Hole Mountain resort, as we are centrally located between the two. We have wade fishing just minutes away and drift boat fishing just a short 30 minute drive. We can road or mountain bike from our front door, and the choices of all levels of hiking trails are practically unlimited. A terrific paved bike path also links Victor and Driggs for a great way to see the valley with Teton views.

Beautiful, comfortable, retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here during a trip to Yellowstone for three nights. The property was well maintained, cozy and deceptively large! We were two families totaling ten people and the property was perfect for all of us to fit comfortably. The kids, six of them, took over the basement for most of our stay and the adults took full advantage of the backyard deck for stargazing and kicking back after a full day of sightseeing in Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. It was a wonderful property and I would not hesitate booking it if I visit the area again. No complaints about the property but one of the local bars is not friendly towards foreigners. I did rip them on Yelp. Keep that in mind if you are visiting the area. Crazy how when you leave California, you realize how intolerant the rest of the country can be at times. Other than our experience at that bar, the property was AWESOME and perfect for our little vacation. Claudia, the property manager was very attentive and quick to respond to my questions prior to arriving at the home. It was beautiful, clean, and had a well equipped kitchen too. It was a great bargain too seeing how many of the hotels closer to Yellowstone would have averaged out to almost the same amount we paid to book the home but we would have been crammed into a hotel room during our stay rather than enjoying the expansive backyard and living areas this house provided.

great facility and nice set up - just need a little more temperature control

  • 4 of 5

Stayed there with three other families. Enough rooms and beds to accommodate all of us! Spacious setting with almost everything we needed to make meals in between our busy travel schedule. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Love the field and mountain range viewing right at the backdoor. The owner even let us borrow their bikes to ride away the vicinity!

One suggestion to the owner. The house only has one centralized temperature control, and it was way too warm for our friends who stayed on the main floor as it would be too cold for the guests at the basement if we didn't turn on the heat.

Great Price and Fantastic Location

  • 4 of 5

Overall, this was a great house in a very quiet and serene location - a perfect home-base for Grand Targhee (which was delightful!) It was a bit of a drive to get to the Teton National Park and Jackson area, but we anticipated and planned around this, and felt the price and quiet neighborhood were worth the drive. The kitchen was well stocked for all of our meal preparation. Claudia was great to work with us and was very accommodating and patient while we were trying to arrange the rental. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars was because of the rules list, which was extensive and a bit intimidating for a large extended family with many children. I was nervous the whole time that someone would do something contrary to the contract.

Beautiful home, great location.

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed here for a winter getaway. The house is comfortable and 'homey' exactly like the photographs.

We ate at a great restaurant in Victor one night and made good use of the well equipped kitchen the rest of the time.

The 2nd living area/den downstairs would be really great if you had kids along though we didn't use it.

It is 25 minutes or so from Grand Targhee Ski Resort where we had a blast. I highly recommend this place.

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

The place exceeded our expectations. The looks are deceiving. From the outside, it looks like a small cottage. But once you're inside, the rooms are spacious especially the basement. This place is ideal for families with children or a large group for reunions and get together. It has all the things you need for a furnace rental home - from towels to ceramic plates, coffee maker and all! The wifi works well. Although it takes a couple of hours drive through the amber rolling hills to West Yellowstone, the view is breathtaking. Likewise it's an hour drive to Jackson Hole and Grand Teton and going through mountains you get to see the awesome view of the valley. The location is conveniently located if you want to see the Grand Teton, Jackson Hole, and Yellowstone. For the price, the location and the drive were all worth it. This is the best High School Class 72 Reunion we ever had, primarily because of the place and its location. I will come back with my family and stay here again.

Some Like It Hot

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 8 arrived at the house in the late afternoon on a Friday. The outdoor temp was 92. Inside it was 87. Even after opening the windows and turning on the lone ceiling fan in the living room (which with the vaulted ceiling only served to push the hot air at the ceiling back down on us), it was still 82 by the time we went to bed. The only other fan was a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. While the two bedrooms in the basement were quite comfortable (even bordering on cold), the upstairs bedrooms were exceedingly hot. The next day I set the circulating fan on the central heating unit to "on" so it would draw the cold air from the basement upstairs during the day. We left the windows closed as instructed, and it was a pleasant 77 degrees when we returned from GTNP that evening. Unfortunately, by the time we had prepared and eaten our evening meal, it was again 82 degrees in the upstairs living room, even with the windows open.

That being said, we enjoyed our stay immensely. The kitchen was well stocked and we really enjoyed the large dining room table that could accommodate all of us. The living room furniture was comfortable and the satellite TV reception was excellent. Never could get the remote for the DVD player to work, even after replacing the batteries. But I had a portable DVD player along that worked just fine with the TV. We didn't spend any time in the downstairs living area, so I can't comment on it other than to say it is sparsely furnished. Looked like a great place for a ping-pong table! The jetted tub in the master suite was a welcomed relief after a day of hiking.

Perhaps it was a case of unrealistic expectations, but I was really disappointed with the gas grill. Small, uneven cooking, frequent flare-ups. The grill surface was like an oven rack and the handle got so hot while cooking that I needed an oven mitt to touch it. A minor complaint, but since this is the third house we have rented through VRBO in the past year, I do have something to compare it with.

Overall, a very nice house. Would definitely stay here again, but only if the forecast is for a high below 80! Perhaps the addition of some portable fans might be useful for the few weeks of the year that the lack of air conditioning really matters. We supplement our central air with vertical fans we found at Sam's. They take up about 1 sq. ft. of floor space, are quiet and energy efficient, have a remote control, and even oscillate.
