If you are looking for the most beautiful, romantic place in the world this may be it! This is one of the few Puu Poa condominium units with the iconic 'Bali Hai' view. Our condo sits on the edge of a bluff, with full unobstructed white water ocean and mountain views that are too beautiful to believe.
The condo (# 311) faces due west, so spectacular sunsets over the Pacific Ocean are the norm. The condo itself is huge, over 1800 square feet of interior living space, with its own additional 22 foot by 18 foot outdoor lanai. There is also a huge enclosed sunroom that actually allows you to enjoy any tropical showers. It is custom decorated in a retro Hawaiian style with many original artist's touches, beautiful tile and granite throughout. There is more than ample furniture to relax and nap in different areas. The condo has been extensively renovated, most recently in 2016
Puu Poa is THE premier luxury/view condo on the North Shore of Kauai, in Princeville. The newly refurbished St. Regis Hotel is just yards from the condo and all their restaurants (one is a Jean Georges Vongerichten restaurant) and their beach are available to our tenants. There is also a winding path to the unbelievably picturesque Hideaways Beach below our bluff, where possibly the finest coral reef for snorkling can be found.
The fabulous Makai Golf Course, which is 27 holes, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. is steps from the door. The famous Prince Golf Course, 18 holes, is minutes away. Tennis is available for free onsite.

Location. Location. Location. Kauai is the most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands. The North Shore is the most beautiful part of Kauai. The Puu Poa condo complex is the premier condo complex on Kauai. Our unit is one of just a handful at Puu Poa with the iconic Bali Hai view and closest proximity to the ocean. It is large and beautifully appointed. ALSO, One of the few units with A/C throughout the condo (4 Mitsubishi split units)
Lynn and I have a son and grand daughter living on Kauai so we come and visit as often as we can. The condo has the feel of a home rather than a 'rental condo package' and it is appointed and equipped like our home. Again, one of the few units with A/C throughout unit.
This is a fantastic condo and the location couldn't be better. Stunning views of the ocean and mountains. Mark is very easy to work with and the condo is very well stocked. The condo is quiet and this is a very peaceful setting. There is a great walking/running path. Hiking trails are nearby. Hideaways beach is spectacular. My only complaint is that we had to leave!
The condo was well appointed, immaculately clean, and peaceful. The view overlooking the ocean was amazing as were the sunsets.
The hosts were very responsive when a problem with the in-room safe arose. They responded to my phone call immediately and patiently walked me through the process of opening the safe. Problem was resolved in less than 15 minutes.
I plan to make this my home away from home when I next visit Kauai.
We went to Kauai to celebrate our 5th anniversary and wanted something relaxing with plenty of outdoor activities. This beautiful condo provided that and more! We really loved the North Shore location — beautiful views and within 10 minutes of great restaurants and beaches in Hanalei. The sunset views from the lanai were amazing; it's also a great place to watch nearby snorkelers, kayakers and surfers. The condo had everything we needed; we cooked dinner a few nights during our stay and had breakfast there every day.
We really enjoyed our vacation and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this condo. We hope to be back again in the near future!
My family & I stayed at Mark's villa for a week in August. This villa is well appointed with many amenities (gourmet kitchen stocked with essentials to get you started - coffee, etc; Sonos speaker; beach chairs; snorkel gear; library of books to read, etc). Having A/C for the unit was also a plus.
The views of Bali Hai and the ocean below were breathtaking. I have countless pictures of rainbows and sunsets!!
The condo's location is also desirable as you can walk down to hideaways beach (Note - This is a natural path that is steep in places but there are railings / ropes to guide you along. It can be done by most anyone from 6 to 60 as long as you take your time). And being a few minutes away from Hanalei was a plus.
Overall, a fantastic unit that I would stay at again next time we are in Kauai. Thanks Mark!
This is our seventh year staying at Puu Poa and our first in #405. Mark is great, very responsive to emails and questions. The owners are aware of the Atrium Leak and are working on it. The kitchen is well equipped. The Master bed and pillows were very comfortable. Constructive feedback: The cleaning of the unit is superficial, that is, items are not moved and when we were vacuuming, we decided after moving one of the tables not to move other items (dead insects discovered); the BBQ is more of a Hibachi; the Lanai needs to have a deep cleaning, and the beach towels need to be replaced, could not remove the sour smell if with downy added to wash. These are minor concerns. My overall rating would be Very Good on the unit. Again, great owners!
Mark and Lynn's condo was just perfect. From the view from the balcony to the chef's kitchen, everything exceeded our expectations for their place. The beach below the condo was so beautiful, we didn't feel the need to explore any of the other world class beaches on the island. You can't go wrong renting this place.
There is a Spa nearby. Helicopter sightseeing is a short ride away. The 5 star St. Regis hotel is right next door and you are welcome at their Jean Georges Vongerichten Michelim awareded chef restaurants, lounges and beach (just not on their chaises).
