The front bedroom has a queen bed. Extra bedroom is set up in the 'Garden View Room' with another double bed. It can be changed to a den with a couch for longer terms stays.
Large, rustic, Country Garden flourishes with many flowers most of the year has a table with umbrella for shade, four chairs and a Webber barbeque.

Centrally located a main, back 2 lane road, Old Redwood, in Sonoma County just North East of Petaluma near the small town of Penngrove, we are 6 mins down our road from historic downtown Petaluma. Our Road turns into Petaluma Blvd n. which runs into the center of town becoming the main street.
We 40-60 mins from San Francisco traffic depending, Two minutes from Hwy 101, or SSU-Eight -mins from South Santa Rosa, and 20 mins to Sonoma on a lovely back hwy near the house. Bus stops a 1 min walk- served by Golden Gate & Sonoma County Transit.North & South Bring your bike. .Note: Ask about rush hour weekday traffic coming up from Marin & SF & , When planning flights also keep in mind return traffic on Sunday afternoon going into the city from the country.

The house has one bath with full tub and shower inside and another half accommodation in a rustic out bldg off the garden path.
Laundry room, down the garden path.. is lightly shared but can be reserved for your exclusive use if need be.

Important Note: We are a "Pet Friendly" house & thou we try diligently to clean each time very well, we cannot guarantee zero pet dandruff exists in small amount after occasional guests with pets. If you have a serious allergy to pets please let us know, well in advance so we can take extra care for you.
There are two refrigerators. The small upright shown with freezer/ dinning area with freezer, and the under the counter one in kitchen cabinet photo. There is also a chest freezer on the deck for storing more frozen food.
Two night minimum especially on the weekends, however we can ocassionally book a one night if it is open close to the date or if it fits with another weekend reservation , ie if a Fri or Sun. Or during the weekdays. Please ask.

Maximum Overnight Occupancy: Maximum overnight occupancy for vacation rentals shall be up to a maximum of two (2) persons per sleeping room or guestroom, plus two (2) additional persons per property excluding children under three (3) years of age. (For our house this means a total of 6 persons over 3 years old.)
Maximum Number of Guests and Daytime Visitors. The maximum number of total guests and visitors allowed at any time in a single vacation rental shall not exceed the maximum overnight occupancy plus six (6) additional persons per property during the daytime, or sixteen (18) persons, whichever is less, excluding children under three (3) years of age. Vacation rentals with larger numbers of guests and visitors may only be allowed subject to the granting of a use permit. Notwithstanding, maximum guest limits may be exceeded on the following national holidays: Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas, so long as the holiday event does not otherwise trigger the requirement for a special or cultural events permit.
(In our house this means a total of 12 including you who are staying overnight per the rental contract people listed.)
Noise Limits. All activities associated with the vacation rental shall meet the general plan noise standards contained below. Quiet hours shall be from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. The property owner shall ensure that the quiet hours and limits on outdoor activities are included in rental agreements and in all online advertisements and listings.
Amplified Sound. Outdoor amplified sound shall not be allowed at any time associated with a vacation rental
Parking: Parking shall be provided as follows: a minimum of one (1) on-site parking space for a vacation rental with up to two (2) guestrooms or sleeping rooms. On-street parking may be considered for up to one (1) of the required parking spaces. The number of cars vehicles allowed for overnight guests shall be limited to the off-street parking available, as demonstrated by the application

We have owned our property in Sonoma County for 35 years. I have been a publisher of note cards and prints and I have two daughters 28 and 34 who grew up here but now live in Europe/Arizona. My studio is in a barn on the property and I own another house next door (not visible from the cottage) where we have had the same loyal tenants for 35 years. The property is surrounded by many acres of rural open space. The land below the house has fruit trees and a cottage style garden with lots of wonderful flowers which return years after with the seasons. Sometimes fresh tomatoes, herbs or other garden produce is available to guests.
Very safe neighborhood and close to all local amenities.

Perfect setting for that weekend getaway to the Coast or Wine Country. (Two bedrooms One with a Queen & one with a double bed. Extra airbeds for children available with plenty of extra blankets & linens for them.
Well equipped kitchen with all needed to cook any great meal. We keep some basic supplies there such as oil & vinegar, spices, some condiments, coffee filters, paper towels etc.
Pet friendly with space to walk you dog in our garden & small pasture area. Mostly fenced except small pass thru places to which temporary gates can be added if need be for longer stays. (please ask) The second bedroom is quite small but has a big bay window looking to the garden and it's own sliding glass door with small deck, stairs down to drive area or garden & walk in closet.
My wife and I recently booked this cottage in Penngrove for a trip up to wine country. I looked through so many properties in our price range, and of the few we liked, this one seemed to really fit the bill. My conversations with the owner on the phone were very easy, she was straightforward, pleasant, and responsive. Booking the place was very easy.
When we arrived, she was there to greet us and the cottage was exactly what we had assumed from the description. We were pleased with the level of quality of the cottage both inside and out. The paint, trim, and kitchen features all have been recently updated, and the kitchen had more than we could ask for as far as cooking staples and tools. Also, the wi-fi was very nice to have.
The owner was extremely courteous. One of our concerns (why we have not used vrbo.com very much) with this type of property is the privacy, as well as feeling like you are just sleeping in a strangers house. Much to our relief, this cottage does not convey that feeling whatsoever. While the property does have another home on it, the orientation and location of the cottage means you virtually cannot tell. She even made a point to assure us that our privacy was one of her main concerns, and she would not be jeopardizing that.
This place is very clean and neat, with a few nice little details you can tell come from the owner. The most obvious is the outside garden, which is beautiful and peaceful. You can tell she cares by the quality of the home and her obvious desire to keep her renters as happy as possible.
Penngrove is near Petaluma and the Sonoma/Napa area is about 35 minutes the other direction. We ate dinner at an amazing restaurant in Petaluma our first night (arrival), and then spent the day in Napa and Sonoma the following day. After the heat and the wine, it was nice to come back to the secluded cottage to relax and talk. There is a great organic market in Cotati, where I got all of the fixings for a home cooked breakfast our final morning...all of these and many more points are outlined in her "guide" that she leaves there for you.
Overall, this is a great little place to stay, and I cannot really think of anything negative to report. Just yesterday we received a card in the mail from her wishing us well and thanking us for staying.
Mary was great and the cottage is darling, well-equipped and appointed. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and peaceful. The cottage is on a busy road but the back is really nice.
Enjoyed our stay and the close proximity to many things. Many good restaurants near by. One of the main reasons we picked this cottage was it was pet friendly. Really safe and enjoyable for all of us.
Penngrove Cottage was an great place to stay as I was receiving medical treatment at UCSF. The location met the requirement that I be within 60 minutes from the medical facility. It also allowed easy access to the highway on “Clinic days”. The beautiful surroundings created a peaceful, healing environment. I’m a city girl so being in a rural setting (pastures all around, a rooster ‘cockadoodleldoing’ all day, horse corral in the distance, dramatic skies and cloud formations) was novel and lovely.
With one restroom and tub-shower the cottage would be cramped for 4 adults. Inviting one other adult to visit worked out fine. It WAS nice though, having a second bedroom which we used as a workspace. The kitchen was well-equipped with a nice gas-stove and quality cookware and appliances. Storage space was adequate as was the separately housed laundry room. All in all, the space met our needs. Accommodating our 2 small dogs was certainly a bonus ( and a big reason we chose this rental)!!
Mary herself is very generous, thoughtful and pleasant. While respecting our privacy, she was also attentive to our needs. She delivered fresh-cut flowers from the wonderful walking garden. Spring was the perfect time of year to be here; the garden burst into colorful bloom. She even brought newly potted hyacinth for the back deck!
Mary is friendly and almost too helpful. Literally, the woman goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you could possibly need during your stay. She's even helpful afterwords, contacting us because we'd left a few items behind and offered to mail them to us. The cottage is near the 2 other dwellings on the property, and off of a main road, but there's a nice little garden overlooking rolling hills in the back and we didn't interact with anyone else but Mary. We didn't notice any noise from the road, and we live in a rural community. We were traveling with our one-year-old and Mary even dug out a box of age appropriate toys from her personal belongings for us to use during our stay! The cottage is very tastefully decorated and there were plenty of extra towels and linens. There's a fantastic grocery store 2 miles up the road, a locally-owned Trader Joe's-esque place, with a take-out Greek diner next door.
My only suggestion is that she have a sign out by the road, something cute, but noticeable posted on the outside fence, because the driveway definitely sneaks up on you.
We spent a very happy three nights in Mary's little cottage. Mary was a super hostess, attentive to all our needs even during the evening hours.
Being just off a busy road, we were concerned that it could be noisy. Not so! The house is really solid and the windows are well insulated. We really didn't notice any street noise (and we slept in the front bedroom which is closest to the street). All of the living space in the house is oriented toward the hills, with lovely views of neighboring farms and the foothills beyond.
We were there on a rainy weekend in winter, so the garden wasn't in all its spring glory, but it was still a beautiful little respite. Our daughter spent a lot of time back there poking around and taking pictures of the bulbs that were just peeking their heads out, and trees about to bloom. The back deck is a great place for an afternoon glass of wine and a BBQ.
Mary's kitchen is well-equipped for cooking full meals for a family. Plenty of fridge space (two fridges), electric appliances, cooking utensils, and a few things to make it feel like home - placemats, a GREAT selection of teas, ground coffee, loads of spices, and a few essential condiments in the fridge. The bathroom was equally well-stocked with extra shampoos, conditioners, soaps, tampax, pads, and other sundries. More towels than we needed, and extra clean bedding in the dressers in case we wanted to change mid-stay. I have rented A LOT of VRBOs and Air BnBs all over the word, and you rarely find an owner who spends the time and money to stock all these special things in the house for their guests.
We'll definitely stay again! (family of three, by the way).
This is a nicely furnished bungalow, including some lovely artwork and hardwood floors. There is a good amount of road noise, being right next to a busy road--which isn't too bad if you're not a light sleeper or if you are used to noise. It also was a little crowded with adjacent properties so I didn't get a good feeling of privacy, although no-one disturbed me while there, and the owner was very nice, and accommodating of my dog. It could have been a bit cleaner in areas, but again, the owner was gracious and agreeable to resolve the issue.
Close to both beautiful coastal areas, wineries and rural country side but also very easy to get to S.F., bus available too.
Large health club 1.5 miles away with everything including big indoor heated pool.. sells temporary memberships, reasonable rates, open 24 hrs Mon-Thurs, and Weekends until 10 PM
