A large group of girlfriends (16) rented this home for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. Everyone just loved it! It had beds for all. The 'dorm' room was even fun for us. It's a bedroom on the top floor with multiple twin beds set up and the ladies loved it. It was like being in camp again. There are plenty of areas to cuddle up and read if you need some quiet time, or the basement game room if you want company. We primarily hung out in the family room and chatted and played card games.

We never had a problem with hot water, but we did stagger our shower times since it was such a large group. Also, the kitchen isn't very big and the layout is a bit funky, but we! We did eat in one night and managed just fine.

The location was great. It was a quick drive into town. No one in our group did the ski in/out so I can't really comment on that.

Booking was easy and efficient and we had no issues.

Every single lady said they wanted to come back to stay for the next celebration, so there's a good chance we'll be up next year!

Pictures don't do this house justice!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 26 loved this house! Great location, perfect for a large group with children! It had a big game room for the kids; very comfortable, clean bedrooms and bathrooms! The kitchen had everything we needed! And we especially liked the extra fridge in the garage. The garage was fully stocked with wood for the fireplaces. The ski in and ski out access was only a short walk away. Downtown is just a few miles away with great shopping places! We had a wonderful time, thank you Shane Wagner for making this an unforgettable vacation!

We would definitely stay here again!!

Did Not Meet Expectations

  • 3 of 5

For a cabin that sleeps 30+ people it has a kitchen designed for a single family, besides the single oven, the lack of space/size the kitchen offered is not conducive for large parties.

In order to ski out of the house, you must walk a few hundred yards and then ski through National Forest property, not so bad on the outward journey, but skiing in for the day is a different story and not for the faint-hearted, more like XC skiing a mile or so.

The hot water did not last long for larger groups, this persisted even after multiple complaints and a trip from a service tech.

The cabin was not as clean as you would expect for the large cleaning fee, the fridge in the garage and kitchen were filthy.

We had multiple families that joined us and ended up bringing too much cooking equipment because the manager would not provide a list of provided cookware, etc.

The house was accommodating for larger groups in terms of sleeping arrangements, activities (game room, hot tub, etc).

Owner's Response: The home hosts large group of 25 plus on a regular basis. None of the large homes in breck were originally designed to be used for hosting large groups. These are large single family homes and the kitchen and dining areas are designed as such. The home has 200 gallons of hot water service available to the guests. Upon guests complaint the plumbers were called the system was found to be operating as designed with ample temperature in every bath. Even 200 gallons will run out if you try to take 30 showers back to back. In addition the home has a hot water circulation system that ensures the hot water is at each faucet without delay. The ski in Ski out access is not several hundred yards away, although it may seem that way when you are tired. The walk is about 8 houses down to the ski access. In addition we offer two reserved garage spaces downtown directly at the bottom of peak nine for any guests who cannot ski in/out. Ski access is available from the manager for review prior to rental. The home regularly services 30-40 groups per year. In 10 years plus this only the second group that did not appreciate the ski access.

While the house is beautiful, it suffers from not being cared for. We enjoyed the location and seeing a fox wander through occasionally. The freezer door was frozen shut and we had to work to get it opened. A smoke detector was hanging by just the wires. The two washing machines were filthy. The dishwasher did a poor job of cleaning. The hot water temperature was too low and we mostly had luke warm showers. The thermostats in the house don't make any sense as to what they control. The propane bottle on the grill ran out soon after we started using it and the spare bottle was empty. Beautiful home, good location, but needs someone to take care of the numerous maintenance issues. I was rather disappointed.

Owner's Response: The home receives regular maintenance and cleaning by professionals. While the propane should have been handled prior to a guest arrival the guest was not only reimbursed, but also received additional funds back due to inconvenience. The smoke detector was certainly not removed and placed into that position by any staff member. This issue was never brought to anyone's attention. The home receives complete cleaning and maintenance between seasons including touch up painting and deep cleans twice a year, and just received a brand new hot tub. The door to the freezer was handled and the home also has another freezer for food storage. The home sees many large groups and although gets used is not ignored for maintenance.

Awesome Place - If you like to ski this is your place !!!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a week at this place with a group of 20. The house is designed so that there is ample room for all and privacy for those who need it. The adults lived in the big room on the main floor and the kids all migrated to the downstairs game room with couches, pool table, and outdoor hot tub. The caretaker made sure that the house was fully stocked with wood for the fireplaces and if there was a question or any minor inconvenience it was quickly rectified. Ski slopes are a short walk away - getting into town was a snap. The Wi-Fi signal needs to be improved for this day and age but I am not sure if that's the fault of the house. If you were downstairs it worked fine btw. At the end of the week we took a poll of the 11 kids all aged between 10-16 and they all said it was the best vacation they ever had. I would have to agree. Kudos to Shane W and his team for making this an unbelievable experience for all ages. I wish I was still there.

Annual Family Gathering Kansas and Iowa and Colorado family

  • 5 of 5

This rental was wonderful. The booking of the home, the arrival and the departure were all easy and the owner provided us great information prior to arriving and for our trip. Breckenridge downtown was only a few miles a way and was wonderful to visit. The house is in a wonderful neighborhood, beautiful and the early morning and late evening visit from the two foxes was an added plus. They loved cookies but nothing really else and they came back every day. We also enjoyed the humming birds and their nest.

The lovely home has a double garage, two washers and dryers that we found in use most of the time. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly imagine or need. There are two grills on the deck with burners on the side which we used as well. The garage has another refrig/freezer which we also needed and used. We had 19 adults and 5 children and there was plenty of room for all. The home is decorated beautifully. We used the hot tub several evenings. Some of the bathrooms have just been remodeled and lovely. Other furnishings in the home were beautiful. They even provided the dish and laundry soap.

We only had one issue and that was the stove did not work and the freezer in the kitchen would not open. The owner was wonderful to work with on this and is making it right with us. He felt bad that he didn't realize it was not working before we arrived or he would have had it fixed. The fact that we came in on a Friday made it difficult to yet a repair man to the home over the weekend. Besides these two items we found it to be a wonderful stay and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A table on the deck would have been nice as well but there were several chairs to accommodate our needs.

We would definitely stay there again.
