Pitsidia is located on the central south coast of Crete and is about 65 km an hour
Drive from Heraklion airport.
The village is ideally located for exploring the famous sights of the area, such as, inter alia, the ancient palace of Phaistos and the archaeological site of Gortyna and Agia Triada, the Monastery "Moni Odigitria" and of course the beautiful beaches of Matala, Red Beach, Komos Agiofarago, Ag. Pavlos, Tripiti, etc. The museum in Vori is quickly reached.
It is only a 3 minute walk to the village of Pitsidia. For beautiful undeveloped sandy beach "Komos" It is with a 5 minutes drive, walk about 20 minutes on dirt roads or road.
In Pitsidia there are mini markets, butcher, bakery, hairdresser, pharmacy, several restaurants, a very nice breakfast cafe: the "Onira" where you can borrow books, the Horseback "Melanouri" and a car rental.
In the village square there are various musical events in the summer. With live music lead the children from our village before Cretan dances. These evenings have a great atmosphere.
Fantastic hiking opportunities await you in the vicinity such. As the gorge Ag. Farago, Rouvas, Kourtalioti, Antonius etc. or the dirt roads through the countryside between olive -and- orange trees.
