About Ingrid Winterink
This is me, Ingrid. Together with my husband, Henk, we purchased the 'Johan House' in 2008 when our backyard neighbor moved out making it available. This opportunity happens only once in a lifetime. We meticulously renovated it to meet all of our dreams and are thrilled to open it for business. Next to running the vacation home, we also have a catering business, so if you would like to have a meal prepared, ask away!

Why Ingrid Winterink chose Stadskern
Amersfoort is a quaint and charming city located in the heart of the Netherlands. Amersfoort is a city with a small town coziness and with big city benefits. All facilities like shops, restaurants (you will find a.o. Asian, French, Spanish, Italian, and even TV-award winning Dutch kitchen), museums, cinema and theater are within walking distance. The city of Amersfoort organizes many free of charge open air festivals suitable for kids and/or grown ups.
What makes this House unique
Some of the key features of the 'Johan house' is its unique central location in a very old and charming city center, yet very quiet and safe at night. Around Amersfoort are many natural parks and reserves which can be visited by boat, bicycle or car. We rent out bicycles and can help you in making a nice 'green' itinerary. Public transportation is extremely well organised. All big cities in the Netherlands have direct connections with Amersfoort Central Station.

Perfect house and location
Thank you so much for such a great stay. The house was wonderfully renovated and the parking garage was a bonus. We will be back!
Highly recommend. Would certainly stay here again.
Amersfoort is a beautiful old town and well worth a few days in its own right, but also serves as a very handy base for exploring further afield.
The house is in a wonderfully central yet peaceful spot, and was a perfect “home” for this family of four.
Comfortable, functional, nothing too fancy.
Lack of a washing machine (it’s an old character property, with available kitchen space given to a dishwasher instead) was a minor inconvenience with a launderette less than 10 mins’ walk away.
Charming house, full of character in great location
We stayed at Johan for a week while visiting family in the area and could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. The home is in a historic area in Amersfoort which is simply gorgeous, and is perfectly situated in the city. We could walk to many restaurants, shops, cafes and the station was very close as well. The house was perfectly clean, cozy, well appointed and comfortable with modern kitchen and baths. Ingrid and her husband were excellent hosts, providing bicycles for us, and were incredibly responsive to our questions and even laughed when we locked ourselves out literally in the middle of the night! Sorry about that! Definitely stay at Johan, you will love it!
Lovely historic home in the heart of Amersfoort
Johan's house was a great place to stay and perfect for exploring Amersfoort and the surrounding area. The house was comfortable and well equipped and very handy for the centre of Amersfoort. We really appreciated the use of a parking space and being able to store our bikes in the small courtyard at the back of the house. The only thing we missed was the use of a washing machine! We enjoyed cycling to the nearby fishing village of Spakenburg and a visit to the Kroller-Muller Art Museum was fantastic. The cycling network in Holland is first class and we recommend it as a way of getting about. We also enjoyed our tour of the tower in the centre of Amersfoort. We left the day of the Kings Day festivities which was a shame as the people of Amersfoort looked ready to have a great celebration.
Perfect blend of modern and historic!
The Johan House is a charming home from around 1750, located in the heart of the equally charming city of Ameersfort. The home is spacious, clean and comfortable, and full of modern amenities while maintaining it's historic roots. The neighborhood is also a great blend of old and new, with quaint homes, a canal, and cobblestone alleyways coupled with great shops and restaurants. The owner, Ingrid, was a wonderful host, always prompt with her responses, very kind, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect stay. Thank you, Ingrid, for your hospitality!
Thank you so much for your wonderful words, much appreciated!
Am very curious after your Icelandic adventures.
