Maui is the island of Aloha. The people and the property are just beautiful. Great restaurants in the immediate area.
My unit is right on the beach. Truly beachfront! I like whale watching straight from the unit. Bring your binoculars during whale season (December through April.) The pool and spa are so relaxing. 925-381-6207 cell, firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for having such a wonderful place for us to spend our marrage and honeymoon. This home was superb and very well suited for us. The staff here is excellent and made all go great. You are lucky to have great people to take care of your home.
My wife and I just spent a wonderful week in Stans condo. I can't tell you enough how perfect this location is for a couple to get lost in the ocean, the view and each other! We spent hours watching whales in the morning and evening. The view is out of a movie at sunset. During the day we walked right down to the beach and snorkeled for hours. It's also a short drive to plenty of shopping areas(Whalers Village), golfing and snorkeling.
The accommodations were perfect for cooking on the bbq, or the stove(although we did not use the stove). Plenty of pots, pans, cooler(s), and wine glasses which were both glass and plastic depending on the time of day :) I didn't expect fresh towels and fresh sheets each day going in, so when we had this service it was absolutely wonderful.
While the maui kai does offer coffee in the morning, I loved my morning at Java Jazz just next to the condo. It's a short walk and wonderful coffee in the morning. We also went over to Java Jazz for happy hour and at night once for live music. It may not be for everyone, but we loved the atmosphere.
Lastly, the we loved the location of the condo in terms of beaches and people. There was a good mix of locals, tourists and those who are transported locals(living there part time). It felt much more at home than the large luxury resorts.
I couldn't recommend Stan or his condo enough, and we can't wait to go back.
* I have seen people mention the walkway and people walking by. It really isn't an issue. People walk by but most do not even look up or if they do it's a smile or a nod and they move along. It certainly isn't a parade of people that would cause distractions or annoyance.
Such a great location. We're very picky travelers typically prefer the "clean lines" look and feel of a modern hotel. However, the decor was perfect for the location and definitely put us in the Aloha spirit. Lots of modern amenities, great wifi, Blu-Ray, stereo with Bluetooth connectivity to keep you connected in paradise. Although one of the older properties on the island it is immaculate in its maintenance, inside and out.
My wife and I loved the location and will not hesitate to return. There are beaches in either side of the walkway in front of the condo. The ways are a bit rougher than on other beachs (Kaanapali, Kapalua Bay) but still good to swim and play and great for surfing or boogie boarding. It's a great way to start your day having coffee on the lanai and watching the surfers.
You won't have any regrets booking this condo.
First off, I'd like to say Thank you Stan for renting this cozy condo. Me and my wife arrived to Maui for our honeymoon. After picking up my rental Mustang, it took us a little less than 1 hour to arrive to what is possibly one of the closest buildings to the beach. First, you get to enjoy the road because you get to see the various scenery and beaches just on the way. Our first concern arriving there was seeing people walk by on the first floor, and at first the few people who did walk by made us like "hmmm", but clearly they didn't care and then neither did we, it wasn't frequent. The view from the lanai is very nice! Walk not even 5 minutes, and you're on the beach (which they're all public FYI). Great! Then we got breakfast locations, a grocery store nearby and plenty of restaurants to be entertained on top of the food that you can cook by yourself with a fully functional kitchen with the whole pots and pans.
- Beautiful and clean unit, daily bed sheets setting and bathroom towels.
- Right next to the beach!
- Plenty of parking to guests (Rent a car in Maui... You need one)
- Close to convenience stores like restaurants and groceries, Walgreens pharmacy, etc.
- Get to enjoy the beautiful sunset every day!
- The city of Lahaina nearby is beautiful. Take a walk on front street in daylight once, and in the night
- It's on first floor, so I only put this here if you mind people walking once in a while in front of the balcony. If you don't mind, then this is a non-issue! You'll enjoy the sunset every night alone, we sure did.
- Most sightseeing will reguarly require frequent driving, so get yourself a fun car and enjoy the roads. Hana is all the way the other end, so make sure to be at Kahului at around 8AM if you're planning to do the Road to Hana, that means leave Kaanapali at a little after 7AM.
Enjoy Laihaina the city nearby with the beautiful Front street, enjoy the numerous beaches on west Maui but also don't forget to get out of West Maui! There's so many beaches and sightseeing and hiking elsewhere... And every corner of Maui has a different look and feel, all of them different yet beautiful.
My husband and I just had our honeymoon at Maui and we stayed at Maui Kai. The unit where we stayed was a ground floor unit with concrete walls (which adds more privacy...). We had the dramatic view of the ocean at eye level and the soothing sound of waves crushing the sea wall just a good approx. 8 ft from our lanai. The condo was well equipped with full kitchen, paddle board, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, iron, spice rack, dish detergent... you name it. There is also a community garden on the premise where yiu xan harveat freah herba for cookong. The owners of the condo are very kind, hospitable, and helpful and they answered all our wonderful questions thoroughly. The management was super friendly. If you need grocery shopping, Times market is within walking distance. The beach is accessible from the condo and we have enjoyed our morning and evening strolls. The location is perfect, we are approx. 10 min. from the nearest Luau, and the Whalers village if you like shopping. The more shady cove like Kapalua beach is only a few miles to the North. Dukes Restaurant is also close by. There are a number of location attractions nearby including the Maui Ocean Center, Jodo Mission, Baby beach, Iao Valley where the Needle mountain is. We have also driven a few times to Lahaina for historic sites visits, shopping and their second Friday Music Festival. We have really enjoyed our honeymoon and our stay at Maui Kai. We really like the scale of the development. Before we left we invited our friends over and had a poolside BBQ party. There are 2 BBQ burners, a full kitchen and a game room next to the pool and hot tub. What more could we say? We've only wished if our vacation were longer ;-)
This is property has very good location, views (ocean view!), and service for the money. The only downside is that the balcony is roughly at the same level as the boardwalk so that takes away the privacy a little bit.
We had a wonderful stay at Maui Kai. The ocean and sunset views were beautiful. The studio, condo was perfect for the two of us. Plenty of room and everything we needed was there to help our stay be enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing. Nice and clean too. We loved the quiet, home-like atmosphere, yet so easy to go out for swimming, sightseeing, shopping and more. Highly recommended!
