Get in touch with nature in this incredible country home, located right in the middle of Puerto Rico's national rain forest, near El Yunque.
Nestled within the rain forest region, this 5 bedroom country home is the perfect getaway for groups of up to 14 people (4 queen-size bedroom + 1 kids bedroom with 3 bunk beds). It has all the necessary comforts (3 bathrooms, wifi, laundry, fully functioning kitchen, etc.) and plenty of entertainment options (creek, satellite tv, pool table and foosball, etc) all in a rustic setting that you'll never forget.
Nature lovers in particular will be overwhelmed by the lush environment, and will enjoy being visited by several sorts of fauna, and listening to the sounds of nature at night.
This is a private country home located 1/2 hour from the coast and 45 minutes from the airport with a creek in a 5 acre lot area in the Añoranzas de Cubuy sector, next to similar properties. Guests should expect to enjoy the utmost privacy, yet will be just a 10 minute drive from the local store, gas station and church.
The hosts will meet you halfway to escort you toward the property, then will be just a phone call away if needed. Please bear in mind that road access may be bumpy.
While it was a short weekend it was one full of laughter and love. Thank you for giving us a place to create new memories for our family. With much love, The Le’s
No words to describe how amazing this house is. The pictures are nothing compared to how cozy and comfortable and breathtaking it was to call this place home for a weeek. And the owners were so helpful and the nicest people.Me and my family can't wait to come back!
I love nature. I love solitude. This escape was a perfect adventure for me and my 14 year old son to experience the rain forest. The home is very private and spacious. We enjoyed playing pool, foosball, and basketball. The views and levels of decking provided so many ways to perceive the variety of nature that immerses this property. The open-barred windows and doors truly makes the inside feel like the outside, hence the tree fortress feeling. I'm not a beach person, so I was glad that the temperatures at this elevation were in the low 70's often with a breeze and very pleasant at night. Tips for enjoying nature... birds (put your food away), bugs (keep the bedroom lights off), snails (trees by day and paths by night), and freshwater shrimp (check the stream pools with a flashlight). With all the bedrooms, this place would be excellent for a group or family retreat. The deck hammock is definitely comfortable. Convenient store about 5 minutes away, while gas is about 25 minutes out. Owner was very nice and we loaded up groceries before he escorted us to the property. We went to the National Forest to experience El Yunque and honestly aside from a few touristy landmarks, we had more to enjoy all to ourselves back at the Villa.
I have used Homeaway numerous times. I bring a group of high school art students "out of the country" every March and look for a house, not a hotel, where we can have time together. Five teenagers and two adults for one week this time. The house was very unique, and in many ways, perfect for us. Yes, one does feel a little removed from everything else and it is a bit of a trek to reach a restaurant or grocery store. But you know these facts ahead of time. And the house allows you so many areas in which to either share time together or go find time for yourself. You certainly feel like you are in the middle of the rainforest; the sounds at night are like a symphony. It helps to know you want to sit back and take in the experience, that you are willing to slow down a bit and enjoy the setting and the company you have brought with you. The kitchen is next to the porch area where people tend to gather and becomes the hub of our activities around meal times. But there are many other parts of the house and grounds that are exceptional. This is a one of a kind house. We did have an issue one evening with the water supply, we told Ricardo we could wait until the morning to have a remedy. He was so helpful and had someone sent out to the house to fix the issue before an hour was up. I even left a bit of cash by accident behind which he found and sent back to me.
Thanks for the great stay.
We had a group of 8 senior citizens from St. Simons Island, Georgia, who spent 4 glorious nights at this property in El Yunque. We are all nature lovers and hikers, and we couldn't have found a better place to serve our needs. Ricardo was a wonderful host, who met us at the house upon our arrival and showed us all around. We would whole-heartedly recommend this property to anyone who loves to be enshrined in a lush green surrounding with all the comfort of home.
We had a fantastic time at Villa Pitirre. The rainforests sounds were heavenly. Spent 3 wonderful nights here with a few family members. The property was clean and very well maintained. I hope to be able to return. Thank you for sharing these wonderful piece of heaven with others.
Staying at Villa Pitirre was perfect! There was so much beauty and the home was so comfortable, we didn't feel the need to leave it! However it is close to beaches and El Yunque so we took advantage of the proximity to do a little exploring.
The Martin family was very hospitable and made sure we received a full tour even though we arrived a little bit late after a wrong turn! The family history is evident throughout the house and makes it quite homey and interesting!
We would definitely stay again if the opportunity arises!
