About Carol Maestas

The owners, Ken and Carol, chose this wonderful property for themselves. Carol is a native New Mexican whose entire family resides in Albuquerque. To be near family, particularly their children and grandchildren, Ken and Carol have made New Mexico their second home. Ken and Carol love the beauty and people of New Mexico and are proud to share their home with you.

We’ve seen a lot of remodels and this is the most remarkable. The design, paint colors, furnishings, and decorating is amazing. The wonderful artwork compliments everything you’ve done.



It has been a pleasure staying here. This area is fun. We found some of the galleries in old Town and also in some of the interesting shops on Central.



One Week is not enough. I’m sure we’ll visit again when we can spend more time.

While most homes in New Mexico are cooled with evaporate cooling, we have installed a powerful refrigerated air system for added comfort. We go above and beyond to provide highest qualify furnishing and a well-stocked kitchen. We provide initial supply of toiletries: tissue, paper towels, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Maid service available for $80/session with no restocking of supplies or $100 with restocking of toiletries.

Fantastic location, beautiful home in Nob Hill

This beautiful Nob Hill home was the perfect spot to spend time

enjoying Albuquerque! Close to the airport, walking distance to many shops, restaurants and the food co-op. On a very quiet street, yet

close to the action. The home had everything we needed and was

beautiful. The lower level bedroom was like a beautiful

private suite! Loved it and will return!

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed our home. Because the lower-level bedroom is where we stay when we are at Casa Carolina, we make it as wonderful as possible. That is why we have a large-screen TV and DirecTV with a DVR recorder both there (and in the living room) as well as great decor and comfy quilts. We look forward to your return!

Nice location

Nice house, great location, very walkable to Central Ave although it is under construction. Low ceiling going to the master bedroom (which is in the basement). I am 5'10" and I had to duck walking down the stairs. Bigger bathroom upstairs - shower also not great for tall people. Water pressure in the house is very poor even with only 1 thing on at a time. If two things require water there is barely a stream. We had 8 people - 4 adults and 4 children (10, 9 , 7 and 6 yrs old) but there were only beds for 7 people since the inflatable air mattress provided was a single.

Owner's Response: Our #1 goal is to ensure that every guest has a wonderful experience in our home. I am sorry that you had trouble with the water pressure and the sleeping arrangements. If you stay with us again, and for all future guests, we provide contact numbers for 4 property managers. Please feel free to call any of us with issues or needs and we will deal with them right away. My team is very responsive and really cares about your stay. We would have been happy to contact a plumber right away (the water pressure was dealt immediatly upon seeing this review and is fixed). We have several airbeds (2 twins, 1 full, and 1 queen) and we would have been happy to drop another off. Casa Carolina is a nearly 100-year-old, gorgeous New Mexican Casa. My husband is 5” 11” and we have spent many wonderful years enjoying Casa Carolina and always stay in the downstairs bedroom. Though the majority of the stairs are a completely open stairwell, we have a Caution Low Clearance sign for those last couple of steps to the master where the clearance is lower than typical. Every guest is important to us and it is rare that guests are not completely satisfied with our home. If you would like to stay at Casa Carolina during a future visit to ABQ, we would be happy to give you a discount. Finally, the construction on Central is the building of a Rapid Transit System that will allow our renters to walk a block and hop on and ride to the fairgounds, Old Town, The BioPark and Aquarium, downtown and more. We are very excited about this for our future guests.

I cannot say enough about this property and Carol the owner. Beautiful home in a wonderful location (walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the university). Relaxing courtyard for grilling, having an evening beverage or your morning coffee. Carol was a pleasure to work with. I will absolutely stay here again (and again)!

Wonderful Home

We had a great time staying at your warm and inviting Casa Caroline. The location was perfect for UNM and the Nob Hill area. Walked to a different restaurant every night. The back patio was great in the morning for coffee. It was a joy to stay here and I will we be staying here again when our daughter goes to school. It was just a pleasure to work with the owners and if I had an issue they were right there to help me. I would highly recommend staying here!!

Very nice home in a great location. We would stay there again.

The home was clean and nicely furnished. It is only a block from Central which makes it close to many restaurants and it is centrally located with easy access to many amenities. Carol was responsive and very nice. We would definitely stay there again!
