Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed in finished basement, 2Baths, Sleeps 5

Our Cabin is wonderful and well located for lots of activities or relaxation around the Asheville area. We are just north of Asheville by about 18 minutes.

This is a 'real log cabin' that was completely renovated with the finest in wood floors, stone work and charming unique touches. We believe you will find the cabin very clean, uniquely charming and having everything you may need for a vacation! We, the owners, live nearby and take great pride in seeing that our guests are comfortable. Should you wish some suggestions of things to see, or how to find the hiking trails, the rivers, the restaurants, the relaxation or excitement that this area has to offer, your hosts can help.

The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed and single. The cabin is perfectly located during the 'leaf season' and the leaves on the property itself are exquisite, but we suggest winter is also great with its warmth and coziness with a great stone fire place. Sundance Log Cabin is not far from several ski areas including Wolf Laurel.

Spring and summer are special times at Sundance Log Cabin. Berries, peach and apple trees dot the large flat field in front of the cabin which is great for play, frisbee or soccer!

Probably some of the nicest features of the cabin are the large covered porches for outdoor dining or just rocking in the rockers enjoying the large green areas.

The downstairs basement has just been converted to a lovely, stylish and bright 'rustic/ Tuscan style' play and ping pong room with a full bathroom that has a lovely Tuscany like shower.

Please call us for more information. We like to talk with all of our guests and run our cabin 'the old fashioned ' way with old fashioned hospitality and old fashioned communication. Send us an email today with your phone number and we can help answer all of your questions!

CiCi purchased this house in 2005

Why CiCi chose Weaverville

This adorable log cabin sits on 3+ beautiful acres up the Reems Creek Valley. The property itself has 2 creeks running through it with a lovely private screened hut/ gazebo on the river. The land is dappled with fruit trees, and berries. Our cabin is 10 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 20 minutes a from downtown Asheville and 9 minutes from the charming town of Weaverville. Sundance Log Cabin is made from hand hewn wood work and has large covered porches which make it an exceptional place to relax and rejuvenate. This cabin was built with attention to detail and is maintained and loved. We want our guests to have a wonderful stay here at Sundance Log Cabin. The owners live nearby and we can help with any assistance you may require.

What makes this house unique

The Cabin itself is charming, clean, light, airy and natural with a gorgeous country sophistication. Everyone who has stayed at our cabin over the past 10 years has often noted on the cleanliness, charm and uniqueness of the property. We love the creek and the fishing hut and the great apples and berries in the summertime. The winter stone fireplace is divine and the cabin is cozy in the winter with 2 sources for heat and in the summer it stays nice and cool with full A/C.

We like to entertain on the large decks and sit in the rockers and enjoy the peace. The children like to play soccer in the large flat grass field out in front or wet their line in the creek.

Guestbook comments from the owner

So glad that we found your Cabin on VRBO. Thank you for the welcoming refreshments. Your cabin is so impeccably well kept, warm and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! It was so nice to have a quiet place to come back to after our daily excursions. Thumbs up for the "Well Bred Bakery" for the breakfast fare. And kudos to your back porch for a quiet place to read and enjoy refreshments. Continued success with your farm!

Thanks!!!

The stream is also stocked in season with trout! The stream is fun to walk in and some good size swimming holes can be found.

Great cabin

  • 4 of 5

Great cabin but missing simple things like dish soap and paper towels. I would have started a load of laundry like requested but couldn't find laundry soap. Also the stream for fishing was misleading. I realize it was the time of year but there was only one stream across the road and it was more like a creek.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the comments. As I said to you after you left and told me of these things, I wish you would have let us known. As far as the stream you are the first person in 15 years to say you were mislead. There is a small creek and a larger trout stocked stream. Mother nature does have something to do with the size of the water flow and width and depth of the stream every single day and the season does matter. People have had a great time in that river for years- sorry you did not or ask more questions about it and sorry you did not reach out for some more soap and paper towels.

Beautiful mountain property! Felt like the country but only 10-15 minute drive to town.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay with family at Sundance. Everything was well cared for and very clean in the cabin. Our grandchildren loved wading in the creek and running through the grassy field. The porch provided a cool gathering place in the morning for coffee or at night just relaxing. We loved the Weaverville area and hope to return!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the kind words! It makes me happy to know that you had a lovely time, and the Cabin met or exceeded expectations! I hope you got to pick some of the organic blueberries and apples as your timing was pretty perfect for those. It sounded like you really did get to enjoy so much of what the area has to offer! Thank you for the kind words and we hope to see you in the future!

Modern, roomy, well equipped cabin.

  • 5 of 5

This modern cabin is a delight. It's hard to judge which we enjoyed more - the large, well furnished back porch or the wonderful fireplace which we used on cool evenings. The cabin was extremely clean and supplied with extra essentials like coffee filters, toilet paper and soap. We were impressed on arrival with the fresh flowers in every room.

And it is convenient to both hiking and Asheville which is a short ride away.

Nice cabin, reasonable price, friendly owners!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very nice and just what we needed for a long weekend for four people. Everything was very clean and in order when we arrived. It was nice that wood was available for the fire since it was pretty chilly on our first night. CiCi seemed very nice and accommodating. We will definitely contact her again if we are back in the area!
