An excellent choice

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and had an absolutely fabulous time here. We loved the location: so close to town and restaurants and shopping. Fast wifi, cold ac and a full kitchen. (Loved the blender for pina coladas :) All the comforts of home. So much fun to catch a beautiful sunset while swimming in a pool that is right next to the ocean. Lots of toys to borrow: snorkel gear, boogie boards, cooler etc. We couldn't be happier to have stayed here. TOTALLY WORTH IT!

We had an awesome time here!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this fantastic condo for several days and absolutely loved it. Not only is it a great place to simply vacation and use as a home base for touring the rest of the Big Island, but it's also the perfect place to stay if you want to "live like a local" and blend in. Everyone in the neighborhood is very nice and courteous. Sunsets from the pool are absolutely amazing, even if you are used to amazing sunsets.

Only my wife and I were at the condo, so we had more than enough room. The condo can easily hold four people in the two bedrooms, and a couple more in the living room if need be. Everything you need in a condo is there so you can get comfortable for a while.

The property is pretty close to town. Super quick drive, or a very nice and refreshing ~15 minute walk up the coast to the beginning of all of Kona's wonderful shops and restaurants. Right next to (North of) the condo is a place called Green Flash Coffee which has awesome breakfast items as well as great coffee and other snacks. This was very convenient when we wanted breakfast but didn't feel like cooking it in the condo's kitchen.

Just South of the condo is one of the best snorkeling spots in the area, at Kahaluu Beach. You can also book some surfing sessions there with one of a few different surf schools in the area. The water there is so clear and warm that it's basically impossible not to enjoy yourself.

The owners of the property are very kind and the condo is clean and comfortable. A couple of nights it was just nice to watch a couple of movies on the couch to relax. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone who is looking to relax and have some good times in Kona as well as the rest of the Big Island.

I don't want to leave!!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a nice surprise I got when I woke up, first thing Saturday morning! From my bed I could see the sky, hear the birds, watch the palm trees and a papaya tree (with fruit) right outside the sliding glass door and lanai. Loved it!! My boyfriend and I enjoyed 3 days before the rest of the fambam arrived. We went to End of the World where there is cliff diving, Kahaluu Beach, Puako Beach (didn't make it White Sands Beach which is only 7 minutes away because we ran out of time) and City of Refuge, a boat cruise, drove to Hilo to the water falls, saw the Volcano and(3 adults and one 5 year old) We sure enjoyed the comforts of home here. It had everything we needed. Even snorkel gear and boogie boards. We slept like a baby and the AC kept us nice and cool. Spent a few mornings, sipping coffee, on the grass lawn near the bbq/pool area BEAUTIFUL VIEW and the books of the Big Island for reference sure came in handy when looking for places to venture. Barbara checked on us and offered us ideas of places to discover like KUA BAY. Gorgeous beach. The price on this condo also helps when your feeding 6. I will definitely be back. MAHALO BARBARA :)

This condo was perfect for us! It had everthing we needed, and felt just like home. Awesome shower, we slept great, and made pizzas for our friends. The location is close to everything! Oh, and the sunset view from the pool and bbq area is spectacular!

Kona Shores, apt 235

  • 3 of 5

This condo is in a good location, only 1 mile from the town of Kona. It is a modest but perfectly adequate 2 br condo. The pool area overlooks the ocean. The condo itself looks over the parking lot. The air conditioning works well. We appreciated having snorkel gear at the condo for our use. My only objection to renting this unit is that the owners did not return my deposit without my repeated inquiries and they deducted $26 from the deposit for paying by credit card through VRBO, although they did not disclose this charge ahead of time.

Fabulous Kona Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent the weekend at Kona Shores and had the best time! The condo was spotless and very comfortable. The super cute Hawaiian decor made us feel right at home. Love the pool that is situated right off the ocean. There's also a really nice BBQ area and prep station. A real slice of paradise and great location. So close to Kona town and the great snorkeling beaches just to the south. We will definitely be back. Thank you Kona Shores!
