Welcome to our little slice of heaven. This cozy carriage house is in a great location, walking distance to both Lifts # 7 & 8 (Gondola), on a quiet back alley close to Main St, Telluride. On entering the house, you'll find a compact and tastefully decorated kitchen and living room. With hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances, the spaces blend form & function, & include a gas fireplace and flat-screen TV w/DVD. The deck has great views of the ski area, Box Canyon and surrounding ridges, and is perfect for catching both winter and summer rays & enjoying BBQs. Downstairs is the queen bedroom, with plenty of cupboard space, and the bathroom with large steam shower (no bath). A washer & dryer allows complete self-sufficiency, and underfloor heating keeps it warm in the winter. The classic queen sofa-sleeper upstairs makes this a great vacation home for singles, couples or a small family. If you are looking for a distinctive place to enjoy your time in Telluride, you've found it.
Unique: One of the few free-standing carriage houses in Telluride, this little gem is lovely and unique. Unlike condos where you have to worry about what's going on in the next unit, or from people ' walking' over your head, you are completely separate from your neighbours in this compact little house. Whilst similar in price to these condos, you have more room to move around with it's unique design. The deck is the icing on the cake, with a small gas grill, two chairs and a bench plus cushion that allow for hours just relaxing in the sunshine, while taking in the spectacular mountains around you. If you are looking for a unique 'home' for your time in Telluride, this is it.
Light and airy: Although it's small, the number of windows in the house gives a feeling of open space, with plenty of light and cross-breezes in the summer, and the warmth of the sun in the winter. The light wood panelling enhances that feeling of warmth, and gives you a sense of belonging for however long your stay may be. Downstairs in the bedroom, you have privacy with the up/down blind, which also allows light to filter through, so it's open and airy (and at street level, so not a 'basement' feel). In the winter, the underfloor heating means you'll never be cold, even in the marble floor bathroom.
Location: Right near the River Trail that winds it's way along the San Miguel River in and out of town, the house is located on a quiet back alley, halfway between Lifts 7 & 8 - and the free Gondola to Mountain Village. And only three blocks to the top end of town (the Court House), and all that has to offer in terms of restaurants, nightlife and day time shopping.

Great find in Telluride!
Highly recommended. It is located right in the middle of town, literally a block away from skiing, shopping, dining. Michael and Melissa make sure nothing is missing before you get there. It is a home away from home, really clean and so comfy, the right amount of space for a family of four, amazing views and a great location. What else could you ask for? I would come back to this place any time I am back in Telluride.
Thanks Karla, always lovely hosting such appreciative guests!! Glad you enjoyed your stay, look forward to seeing you back in T'ride soon! Melissa
Cute Place, Great Location
Melissa’s place was perfect for my family of 4 (2 kids ages 13 and 7). We’ve been to Telluride for our family ski trip for the past three years and highly recommend both the town and this propert. My routine for the past three years(1st time at this place): head to baked in telluride for some breakfast, walk back to the place, take my youngest to the Gondola every morning to drop off at ski school, head back to the place and collect my wife and daughter and head back to gondola for a day of skiing. All made really easy and convenient with Melissa’s place and location. After a day of skiing, we’d relax at the place then wander around town and find some dinner. An awesome way to vacation, especially since the location is so good. The place is close to the Cosmo, There, and right behind Siam for sitting at the bar and having some good Thai food, and if you get tired of walking, just take the galloping goose around town. Telluride is my favorite place to go, so I suggest you try it and there is no better place to stay (or better deal) then here. Thanks for sharing your place, and thanks for the tasty wine welcome gift! We hope to be back again.
You're most welcome Max, and hope that we can host you again on your next visit to the always fab T'ride! Cheers, Melissa & Michael
Great mountain getaway!
Melissa’s carriage house is a great little find. You would never know from the outside how charming it is. It is conviently located in town and situated so you can take advantage of the view. The property is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is great and fully equipped with everything you need. Three of us fit perfectly in the carriage house. Melissa is readily available and very easy to deal with. We loved it and will come back!
Thanks Karen and Happy NY to you! Very happy you enjoyed your stay, hope we can welcome you back sometime soon. Cheers, Melissa
Perfect Telluride Carriage House
My husband and I loved staying at Melissa and Michael’s carriage house which is centrally located in the historic town of Telluride with beautiful views of the mountains. The home is beautifully appointed and comfortable and is on a quiet alley and is conveniently located only a short walk away from grocery stores, restaurants, shops and the gondola. The kitchen is very well appointed which we loved because we like to cook. Melissa made sure we had all the information we needed for a smooth arrival with access to get inside the carriage house easily and a parking permit readily available so that we could park our car in the neighborhood. Addditionally, Melissa and Michael left us a welcoming treat on the dinning room table as a kind gift of hospitality. We found the home to be lovely and clean with nice photos on the walls and a nice bookshelf with interesting books - you can take one and leave one as a replacement which is such a nice thing! The manual they left us had all the information in it we needed about the home complete with instructions on the use of all appliances and TV/Media (the Auvio home blue tooth was great as we were able to play our own tunes from our mobile device). They also provide a very nice full array of spa grade bathroom products (shampoo, lotion, etc) and very nice fluffy towels. The steam shower option is a very nice feature as well. This home was perfect for me and my husband and we very much enjoyed our stay. The deck has a wonderful view of the mountains and on a clear night it affords a spectacular view of the stars and the Milky Way. The carriage house has many nice windows so you can enjoy fresh air and sunshine. We look forward to coming back to Telluride and staying at Melissa and Michael’s sweet mountain home.
What a glowing review Catherine, thanks so much for taking the time to write it! So glad you enjoyed your few days back in T'ride at our house, and happy you've found us - we hope to welcome you again on another of your visits! Cheers, Melissa & Michael
Perect place in perfect setting
Great architectural design, high grade materials and finishes, top appliances, and remarkable location with walking access to a world of possibilities. Perfect place for restful, creative, or adventure getaway. We had daily, afternoon summer thunder storms, followed by refreshing walks about town and up the gondola to Mountain Village. Loved the local hikes with trailheads right in town. Excellent shopping and even better restaurants. Melissa made the experience seamless, along with a bottle of wine to welcome us, and champagne to celebrate our 36th anniversary. Thanks! We plan to return next year.
Hi David, and thanks for the lovely review. T'ride is a most special town and I'm glad you found us, and loved it as much as we do. We look forward to welcoming you again! Cheers, Melissa
Great cozy place! Beautiful views from the patio deck and wonderful walking distance to everything!
We didn't use out car once. Location is perfect and views are outstanding! Highly recommended!!!!
Thanks David! We are here at the house now, and the weather remains gorgeous! Melissa
Named for the 90-mile-long San Miguel River, San Miguel County is home to some of southwest Colorado’s most amazing natural sites, including Bridal Veil Falls—the longest free-falling waterfall in Colorado—and the Old Spanish Trail—a 1,200-mile historic route that started in Santa Fe, touched the Telluride region and continued on to Los Angeles. At the heart of San Miguel County are two unique communities: Telluride and Mountain Village. Each with its own charms, the two towns are connected by a free gondola, the only transportation system of its kind in North America. Rooted in history, Telluride is both a bustling ski town and historic jewel. Clapboard storefronts house independent art galleries, old-time bars and delectable eateries. Neighboring Mountain Village offers a modern take on nature and features expansive views and world-class accommodations. During winter, Mountain Village features convenient access to the slopes of Telluride Ski Resort.
