Welcome to our little slice of heaven. This cozy carriage house is in a great location, walking distance to both Lifts # 7 & 8 (Gondola), on a quiet back alley close to Main St, Telluride. On entering the house, you'll find a compact and tastefully decorated kitchen and living room. With hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances, the spaces blend form & function, & include a gas fireplace and flat-screen TV w/DVD. The deck has great views of the ski area, Box Canyon and surrounding ridges, and is perfect for catching both winter and summer rays & enjoying BBQs. Downstairs is the queen bedroom, with plenty of cupboard space, and the bathroom with large steam shower (no bath). A washer & dryer allows complete self-sufficiency, and underfloor heating keeps it warm in the winter. The classic queen sofa-sleeper upstairs makes this a great vacation home for singles, couples or a small family. If you are looking for a distinctive place to enjoy your time in Telluride, you've found it.
Unique: One of the few free-standing carriage houses in Telluride, this little gem is lovely and unique. Unlike condos where you have to worry about what's going on in the next unit, or from people ' walking' over your head, you are completely separate from your neighbours in this compact little house. Whilst similar in price to these condos, you have more room to move around with it's unique design. The deck is the icing on the cake, with a small gas grill, two chairs and a bench plus cushion that allow for hours just relaxing in the sunshine, while taking in the spectacular mountains around you. If you are looking for a unique 'home' for your time in Telluride, this is it.
Light and airy: Although it's small, the number of windows in the house gives a feeling of open space, with plenty of light and cross-breezes in the summer, and the warmth of the sun in the winter. The light wood panelling enhances that feeling of warmth, and gives you a sense of belonging for however long your stay may be. Downstairs in the bedroom, you have privacy with the up/down blind, which also allows light to filter through, so it's open and airy (and at street level, so not a 'basement' feel). In the winter, the underfloor heating means you'll never be cold, even in the marble floor bathroom.
Location: Right near the River Trail that winds it's way along the San Miguel River in and out of town, the house is located on a quiet back alley, halfway between Lifts 7 & 8 - and the free Gondola to Mountain Village. And only three blocks to the top end of town (the Court House), and all that has to offer in terms of restaurants, nightlife and day time shopping.

Everything went well. We are THRILLED with the Wood House. No detail went unnoticed in this space.
Awesome place!! The carriage house is very charming and cozy, everything is brand new inside and the views from the deck (stared at the waterfall all weekend) are exactly what we wanted. It's right in town soMelissa was extremely easy to work with and everything went without a hitch. She even left us two bottles of wine as we were celebrating a birthday and engagement. I highly recommend staying here. It's location is steps to the gondola so would be perfect for a ski trip as well. After working with Melissa this first time I hope to do it again and try her places in the Caymans and Australia one day as well.
We spent 5 weeks in the Woods carriage house with our beloved dog, Clouseau. We had visited the property the summer before, so we were familiar with it. It is well maintained. Our favorite feature was the convenience of the location. The heart of Telluride was easily accessible on foot, as were our favorite restaurants (The Chop House, Oak, 221 Oak, Baked in Tellutide). We attended several of the Chamber Music Festival Concerts and did some breathtaking hikes. We played golf on the Telluride course and in nearby Montrose and Delta. The kitchen and living area were perfect for preparing meals and enjoying the Olympics. We loved the heated floor in the bathroom! All in all, we had a great experience in the property, and would recommend it to friends and family. We look forward to staying there again!
The carriage house is a great alternative to renting a condo. The well equipped kitchen was great and there is plenty of living space on the upper level, even a sunny deck. Enjoyed my stay and planning on coming back.
January ski week, a great stand alone carriage house in a back alley on Pacific.
Starting off with a complimentary bottle of wine, the patio gives an awesome view of the snow covered box canyon. A very functional and well stocked kitchen with an open concept to the dining room and living room w/gas fireplace cap off the upstairs. The downstairs has a nice sized bedroom with queen sized bed. The steam shower and the heated tile floor was a great bonus in the bathroom. The walk to the lifts and gondola was a energetic 2 block walk. The grocery store and "downtown" were a short walk as well.
Basically everything was within walking distance no car is needed.
My wife and I just spent 5 nights at the Wood Residence for a New Year's Ski trip to Telluride and we were incredibly pleased with our choice to stay in this cozy 1 bedroom carriage house on Depot ave. This was our second time staying in the Wood residence after we fell in love with the place last year during spring break.
The home is conveniently located around the corner from Siam and the Wine Mine as well as less than a 5 minute walk from the newly remodeled Clark's Market grocery store. So really, the perfect location, close to both chair 7 or the gondola for skiing, but equally close to amenities within the town.
We took advantage of the well equipped kitchen to cook (and grill out on the deck) a few nights, but we also ventured out to our favorite restaurant, the Cosmopolitan a few blocks down the street for dinner twice during our stay.
We also loved the steam shower after a hard day of skiing/snow boarding each day.
Overall, we couldn't ask for anything more out of this perfect little spot. We can't wait to stay here sometime during the summer and take advantage of actually sitting out on the deck to enjoy the surroundings (a little too cold to do so on this trip!)
My husband and I stayed to celebrate his 40th birthday without the kids for 4 nights and 5 days. The place is very nice and cozy, updated, close to everything and has a wonderful sunny deck to soak up the rays all year round. We loved the layout with the bedroom/bath on the lower level and living/kitchen on the second level. The steam shower and heated floors were very nice and the soaps/shampoos were very high end. When we arrived we were welcomed with gifts of wine and champagne to kick off our celebration weekend. There are movies and books available for use, which was also a treat. Parking is short walk away, which was not a problem because we walked, snowshoed or rode the gondola to get everywhere during our stay and did not need the car. The kitchen was well equipped. Checking in and out through the management company’s drop box was very easy and we enjoyed working with the owner Melissa on getting our reservation set. We will be staying there next time we are in town without the kids for sure! We very much enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
Named for the 90-mile-long San Miguel River, San Miguel County is home to some of southwest Colorado’s most amazing natural sites, including Bridal Veil Falls—the longest free-falling waterfall in Colorado—and the Old Spanish Trail—a 1,200-mile historic route that started in Santa Fe, touched the Telluride region and continued on to Los Angeles.
At the heart of San Miguel County are two unique communities: Telluride and Mountain Village. Each with its own charms, the two towns are connected by a free gondola, the only transportation system of its kind in North America. Rooted in history, Telluride is both a bustling ski town and historic jewel. Clapboard storefronts house independent art galleries, old-time bars and delectable eateries. Neighboring Mountain Village offers a modern take on nature and features expansive views and world-class accommodations. During winter, Mountain Village features convenient access to the slopes of Telluride Ski Resort.
