This older Tampa neighborhood of Seminole Heights harkens back to a time when each family was built just for that family, so interesting architectural elements beckon as you walk your family pooch gunning for squirrels along the way. Just a block away you can watch birds from the riverbank from a small city park...there are several within walking distance. Lunchtime takes you to the 3 Coins Diner...you can walk there, too, and enjoy an authentic mom and pop.

I am a Realtor that has specialized in the Management Single Family since 1977. I fell into vacation rentals by offering my homes for short term, vacation & corporate housing some years ago. I immediately booked beyond my wildest imagination. Because I am a small company and have 100% occupancy I am able to travel quite a bit and really enjoy my semi-retirement. This is a picture on me at the black sand beach in Hawaii. I count my blessings daily.
This was a lovely 3 bedroom, 1 bath rental, just 20 minutes north of Tampa International Airport. Everything was included. It was advertised as a "just bring your clothes, and move in," and that proved to be the case. It provided us with Netflix, which we had not used before. We will be ordering it for our home. We had a problem with the toilet running, amd our landlord TJ came right over, with a plumber, the same day, and fixed it. He also talked me through how to use Netflix over the phone. We were pleased with our stay. We would have given it four stars, if it had an extra bathroom, but we knew that going in.
We were disappointed in the rental property. The kitchen and bathrooms were very outdated and in poor condition. The house was very musty and had a foul odor. The living room furniture was very old and very uncomfortable to sit on. The back yard was full of fleas so we couldn't sit out. The owner did have fruit for us when we arrived and a nice welcome message. They also provided a nice book explaining the house and area services. However, even though we had paid for a month we left after two weeks.
We got lucky when we found this jewel. This charming home fulfilled all of our needs for over four months while my husband worked in the Tampa area. Great location in a historic neighborhood with nice neighbors. It had a great backyard for our border collie to enjoy. I prepared all of our meals and did a lot of baking which included holiday baking. We even entertained while in the home.
The landlord is a Christian gentleman and every helpful. He came by daily to feed our fish when we were called away for a medical emergency to Orlando for a few days. The sign on the front door says “Home Sweet Home” and it sure is while you are away from yours.
We have truly enjoyed the stay and have decided to lease a cabin he has in the Ocala area (vrbo 778523) for a little rest and relaxation over the holidays before getting back to work.
This was a very nice well kept home. The house had everything we needed. We will definitely be renting this home again!
Overall the stay in the house was good. The neighborhood is quiet and we were only 15-20 minutes from Busch Gardens and USF. My husband was working at the college all week, being near USF was a plus. The house itself is an older home. The kitchen is small, but I cooked everyday and we were able to use it with no problems.
There was an odor when we first arrived. Due to the fact that pets are allowed in the house I am pretty sure it was coming from the rug. Once I removed the rug from the living room, it was better. I voiced my concern to the owner, he was very nice about the situation and brought over a dehumidifier, which helped tremendously. There was also an odor coming from the full size mattress. Mr. Tompkins said he had never had anyone complain about it before. He did offer to bring another mattress over. We used the queen and twin beds and they worked just fine.
There was a washer and dryer at the property, which was very nice. It was in the garage, not attached to the house. The kids also enjoyed watching netflix cartoons, and having internet access was very important. It was nice to have space to spread out and place where I could cook for the family while we were there.
There are some things that could be replaced or cleaned better, but overall the house worked fine. I did bring up concerns to Mr. Tompkins. He is a very nice man and tried to help make my stay there very pleasant.
This house was wonderful, had everything we needed, nice neighbors, great back yard, quiet, spacious, the owners are wonderful and i would rent again and recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Tampa area. We were very very pleased!!
