The Soaring Eagle Lodge on Whidbey Island is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This spectacular waterfront home overlooks the Puget Sound, Mount Baker and the beautiful Cascade Mountain Range. Enjoy stunning views throughout the lodge and along our 300 feet of bluff frontage, with an adventure trail leading down to your own private beach.
Soaring Eagle Lodge is nestled on 2.7 acres of towering evergreen trees, 100 feet above the waters of Skagit Bay and the Puget Sound.
The property takes its name from the majestic Bald Eagles that soar along the water’s edge. Their nests are the largest of any bird in North America and we have a clear view of our eagle's nest from the Great Room. We have had 10 successful chicks since the eagles first built the nest in 2004. They allowed the nest to rest for 3 years (from 2012 to 2015) and returned for the 2016 nesting season. The Bald Eagle is said to be the fastest growing bird in the world. This year our chick hatched on May 7th and fledged in mid-August. We look forward to our next chick during the 2017 nesting season.
The lodge caters to those who enjoy luxury accommodations and modern conveniences. From deluxe Sleep Number beds, cozy plush robes, heated bathroom floors, 3 fireplaces, a Weber Genesis gas grill and an outdoor jacuzzi hot tub – to a gourmet kitchen which will delight any chef, you will feel pampered and indulged throughout your stay.
Sit by a warm fire with a cup of tea or coffee and gaze out through our 24 ft wall of windows at the spectacular water and mountain views.
There are many activities available on Whidbey Island, such as fishing, kayaking, whale watching, boat tours, golfing, hiking, shopping and more.
We are also centrally located for day trips to Port Townsend, Vancouver BC, Victoria BC, Seattle, Anacortes, Langley, Coupeville, La Connor and the San Juan Islands. However you choose to spend your time, you will feel rested and relaxed after your visit to Soaring Eagle Lodge.

We had a party of six for a friends' weekend at The Lodge. The house is beautiful and very well-stocked. The owners have literally thought of everything! It feels like you are staying at someone's full-time home: the kitchen has every dish, pan, spice, etc that you could ever ask for and is perfect for cooking every meal! The house and all of the furnishings are very well-maintained and everything was sparkling clean. We will be back for sure! Thank you to Ned for being such a gracious host!
This property has it all, so much so that we didn't get to do everything we planned! Beautiful setting, furnishings, linens, and lodge! We celebrated our family Christmas, everyone thought it was the best one yet, there was room enough for everyone and we managed very well. The Comcast television was out and that was a blessing in disguise, of course there was wireless internet so fantasy football scores were readily available. We walked on the beach, took a ferry to Port Townsend, had dinner in Coupeville, hiked around Deception pass and played a lot of games. We had brought along a speaker so we had Christmas music playing and beautiful fires in the fireplaces, and outdoor fire pit, we even had a dusting of snow - so a magical Christmas it was! Highly recommend!
When we found Soaring Eagle Lodge through VRBO, we were excited to book this property for our annual weekend getaway. Upon arrival, our jaws dropped at the stunning beauty of both the lodge and surrounding area. And the view!!! When we entered the lodge, the movie 'The Holiday' came to mind as we explored room to room! The cozy feel and peaceful environment in this spacious lodge made us feel welcome. We very much enjoyed the fireplaces and hot tub! The kitchen is second to none! The guest rooms were lovely. The cleanliness throughout was very appreciated. There is a lot to do and see in the Oak Harbor area, but we chose to stay low-key and enjoy all the lodge had to offer for this short trip. Walks along the beach were as far as we ventured. We had a couple of questions for Ned, and he responded within just a few minutes. He was kind, professional and very helpful. When a small appliance stopped working, Ned made immediate arrangements for a replacement new product to be delivered. It was a pleasure to interact with Ned. We have been raving about Soaring Eagle Lodge to our family and friends. What a wonderful weekend we had! Of course, the time went by so quickly; we highly recommend booking for more than just 2 days! Thank you Ned!!
Such a fantastic and beautiful home to have a gathering of close friends and family! After only two days, we are talking about making it a yearly tradition and extending our next visit to explore the local area more. Ned was fantastic about communicating all the way up to our rental and it really feels like they want guests to feel at home during their stay. Cannot recommend this property highly enough!
This is our 5th year coming to this home and enjoying a ladies weekend. The house is beautiful and has all of the amenities that you need to cook and enjoy meals while taking in the breathtaking view! The owners are fabulous to work with and did everything to ensure our stay was memorable. Of course we will be back next year!
From the moment I drove into the property, I was in awe of the lodge's facade and landscaping! Upon entering the house, the beautiful great room took me aback! The windows, from floor to ceiling, reflected such a grandiose view of the water and beyond! So loved the gourmet kitchen! Each room had such a cozy feel to it. It was a memorable 5 star experience! Thank you Ned and Lam! Can't wait to come back again!
