Waterfront Lodge: Look at our MAY SPECIALS celebrating our newest Baby Eagle.

Soaring Eagle Lodge, LLC

A sanctuary away from city life is this spectacular waterfront lodge on Whidbey Island', Washington. The lodge overlooks Puget Sound, Mt Baker and the Cascade Mountain Range. There is a trail to your own private beach.

Soaring Eagle Lodge is nestled on 2.7 acres of towering evergreen trees, above the waters of Skagit Bay and Puget Sound.

The property takes its name from the majestic eagles which soar along our water’s edge. There is a clear view of our eagles nest from the great room. We have had 9 successful chicks since they built the nest in 2004.They allowed the nest to rest for 3 years (from 2012 to 2015) and are now back. Our Mother has been sitting on her egg since early April and the Eaglet will hatch around 5-5-16. Both parents will begin bringing food to the eaglet and one will stay in the nest to keep the chick warm. By the end of June, the Eaglet will be full height which is almost 3 feet tall. The eagle is said to be the fastest growing bird in the world. Look at our photo's for pictures of the babies.

The lodge caters to those who enjoy luxury accommodations and modern conveniences. From deluxe “Sleep Number” beds, cozy “Cuddle Robes”, heated bathroom floors, 3 fireplaces and an outdoor hot tub, to a gourmet kitchen which will delight any chef, you will feel pampered throughout your stay.

Sit by a warm fire with a cup of coffee or tea and gaze through the 24 ft window wall at the spectacular water and mountain view.

There are many activities available on Whidbey such as fishing, kayaking, whale watching, boat tours, golfing, hiking and shopping.

We are also centrally located for day trips to Port Townsend, Vancouver BC,Victoria BC, Seattle, Anacortes, Langley, Coupeville, La Connor and the San Juan Islands. However you choose to spend your time, you will feel rested and relaxed after your visit to Soaring Eagle Lodge.

Whidbey was recently identified as one of the 5 best places on the planet to visit by the New York Times “T Magazine” and Life Magazine has voted Whidbey as one of the top 100 places in the world to visit.

We are approximately 90 miles from Vancouver, Canada. Note a passport is require and anyone with a DUI will not be allowed into Canada.

Breathtaking

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you walk into the lodge, you will be stunned by how beautiful everything is. Immediately upon opening the front door, you are treated with a gorgeous view of Mt. Baker and the water. The house is spacious, with luxury amenities. We enjoyed the heated floors in the bathrooms, the sleep number beds, and the hot tub. There are also some beautiful Tiffany-style lamps in the home. The kitchen is large, and we cooked several meals there. The kitchen is stocked with just about every spice known to man. One evening we counted over 30 eagles flying by the water at sunset. While we were there, it appeared that the eagle's nest is back in use. An eagle stayed on the nest for the last two days of our visit. Hopefully there will be an eaglet or two soon! We are really hoping to return to the lodge some day. Thank you for everything, Mary!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. It was a pleasure having you. You are correct about our eagle. The last time we had an eaglet was 2012 so this is very exciting. The chick should hatch around 5-5-16. Last summer our eagles were bringing big sticks to the nest all summer so we suspected they might be using it again. At least 7 of our chicks are adults now and likely have nests nearby. That's one reason you see so many eagles. I appreciate your comments about the lodge and I'll keep you posted about our eaglet. Thanks again. Mary

Soaring Eagle Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We have returned to the lodge for five years now and never tire of it's beauty! The kitchen has everything you would ever need to prepare your meals. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable.

We love watching the eagles flying, and boats sailing past against the background of Mt. Baker.

The lodge is clean and the grounds are well maintained. We have recommended the lodge to our friends who now also make it a yearly retreat.

Coupeville is not too far and has some quaint shops and wonderful restaurants. Christophers is our favorite for Penn cove mussels!

We are looking forward to our next retreat!!

Great Family Time!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our weekend spent at Soaring Eagle Lodge! It was a much needed family time away and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was more than we expected - it looked great online but was even more spectacular in person!!! Everything we needed was there - we cooked all our meals, loved our time in the hot tub, the beds were amazingly comfortable and we really just enjoyed being able to be away from home and enjoy family in an amazing setting and home. The only downfall is that we wished we would have booked an extra night - our time went by too fast. The soaring eagles were beautiful to watch and the view of Mt. Baker was amazing. Mary was great to work with, very friendly and very accommodating in making sure that everything met our expectations. Thanks so much for a wonderful time - we can hardly wait to plan next year's trip!

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

This is the 5th year we have stayed at Soaring Eagle Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are 8 ladies who get away for 4 days for what we call our Bridge (card game) Retreat. This home meets all our needs and the owner is a delight to work with. We have recommend this to another bridge group and they will be returning in the fall for their 3 year.
