About Kim Bregman

Licensed real estate broker in South Florida and Western North Carolina. We own rental investment properties in both states. We purchased this property as our second home and future retirement property.

Kim Bregman purchased this house in 2004

Why Kim Bregman chose Maggie Valley

I have been traveling and summering in North Carolina for almost 50 years. My parents have retired to the area, my son attended overnight and wilderness camps here and I introduced my husband to the Smoky Mountains over 25 years ago. When we decided to purchase a second home, the mountains were our natural choice and we especially wanted to be in Haywood County for its airport access, 6 local golf courses, Historic Downtown Waynesville and proximity to the National Parks.

Kim N. Bregman has over 25 years of Exclusive Buyer Agency experience as a residential and commercial real estate professional. Every sale Kim Bregman makes is a reflection of her unflagging commitment to finding the best possible property for her buyers at fair market value. Through her profound interest and knowledge of South Florida and Western North Carolina real estate, Kim offers her clients concise and timely market information, while defining emerging trends and worthwhile investments. Kim's dedication to offering the highest level of personal service to her clients and matching people to places has built Optima Properties into a business based on referrals from satisfied customers.

What makes this house unique

This is the one place we can come to were we can immediately relax. We enjoy weekends playing golf, hiking, walking the town, or just watching the birds and and sunsets from our porches. When my son visits with friends they are our doing adventure sports such as rafting, mountain biking, or canyoneering or just having fun picking wild blueberries on the Parkway, playing mini golf or canoeing on Lake Junaluska....there's always the Beer Tour in Asheville as well!

Cozy Comfortable Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this cabin to ring in the new year in 2014 and we did it again this year. We love this cabin, how cozy it is but more importantly the comfort and convenience it brings. 3bd/3ba so no sharing necessary. Everyone has their privacy which is a great feature. The common areas are spacious and tastefully designed. We will definitely return to this cabin if we can.

Owner's Response: It is so unfortunate that the weather did not cooperate so that you could enjoy all of the outdoor activities that the mountains have to offer. I hope you were at least able to relax, sit by the fire and have some quality time with your family. We would welcome you planning another vacation in our home.

Incredible Cabin and View - And so much to do!

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely beautiful cabin! This home worked great for us with plenty of room for our family of 7, including our son and his wife. It's well kept, clean, with great furnishings inside as well as the decks. The owner and property manager were responsive and a joy to deal with leading up to the trip, and we had no issues or surprises during our stay. We had fantastic weather, so we really packed in a lot of “adventures”. We took a few trips to the GSMNP (Great Smoky Mountains National Park) for hiking, including Charlie's Bunion trail and Clingman's Dome from Newfound Gap area, Alum Cave Bluffs (also off the Newfound Gap road), Boogerman Loop trail in the Cataloochee region, and Big Creek trail (to Midnight Hole) from the Big Creek camping area. Other adventures included white water rafting near Bryson City in the Nantahala Gorge area, ziplining by the Pigeon River in Hartford, TN, a quick visit to Soco Falls (Cherokee, near Maggie Valley) and visiting Asheville, including the Biltmore Estate and winery tour. Trips ranged from 35-60 minutes from the cabin. Soco Falls is about 20 minutes, and a convenient stop while returning from Cherokee or GSMNP Newfound Gap area. While we stopped at the nearby supermarket in Waynesville a few times during the week, we didn't explore the historic downtown area until the day before leaving. Here, we visited Mast's General Store for some great gift shopping. There is much more to explore in Waynesville on a future visit, and certainly many more trails and other adventures to discover in the surrounding regions. Breakfasts on the deck were breathtaking with the incredible views and scenery, and we were able to get back most evenings to enjoy amazing sunsets while dining on the deck. The week flew by. A few more days with time spent relaxing on the deck and enjoying the comforts of this home would have been great!

Owner's Response: We are so happy that you enjoyed our home. I hope you can find the time to come back and try out more of what the mountains have to offer. During your next stay you may want to check out the Cataloochee Elk, hike Graveyard Falls on the Blue Ridge Parkway and pick wild blueberries, see Bridal Falls and Sliding Rock in Pisgah Forest and end the day at Dolly's ice cream, visit many of the festivals in Waynesville and surrounding towns, experience the Asheville Eating Tours or Brewery tours and if you come in the winter try skiing or snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Resort or slide down the mountain at Tube World.

Good Gracious, Great Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is truly fantastic. We ate all breakfasts and dinners at the picnic table on the main deck just so we could enjoy the cool mountain breeze and majestic views. We were a family of four with two grandparents and had plenty of room to spread out. Our time was spent touring the Blue Ridge Parkway, horseback riding, ruby mining, and tubing in Deep Creek. We had delicious food at Ammon's in Maggie Valley, and Waynesville is just a short drive away if you need a large grocery store. The cabin has everything you need for a vacation base. Rocking chairs, a hammock, and comfortable beds for relaxing, plentiful T.V.'s for entertainment, and an iron skillet for frying freshly caught trout. There is also a large Weber grill for hamburgers and hotdogs. My young children really enjoyed the playground at the base of the mountain and were very sad to leave the house. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Very comfortable home with all you could ask for. Enjoyed rocking on the porch admiring the beautiful fall leaves. Love the nearby town of Waynesville. This is second time dealing with this company. Always very pleasant and helpful.

Spring Break Trip

  • 5 of 5

This log home was not only exactly as described, but we found it to have exceeded our expectations. The amenities of the home, the views of the Smoky Mountains and Maggie Valley, and the streams and waterfalls of the gated Smoky Mountain Retreat were very special and much appreciated. The communication with the Owner and the Management Company was excellent and we would highly recommend this experience to others. Our family had a great Spring Break trip and we hope to have another opportunity to return to Soaring Eagle and Maggie Valley! Thank you Kim for sharing your home with us!
