My husband and I bought this home a few months before we got married and have enjoyed taking friends and family to it to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
We were living in Silt, which is about an hour from Powderhorn, but my husband was lucky enough to get into the Colorado School of Mines to study Petroleum Engineering. So we have relocated to Littleton while he attends school.
I am a stay at home mom to our son Parker and also work for the Colorado Broadcasters Association. I enjoy photography and coaching volleyball.
Shelli purchased this cabin in 2006
We love the seclusion of our home, you can sit out on our deck and see the wild animals, sit in our hot tub at night and watch the shooting stars.
If you love to relax, you will love our large jetted tub and our steam shower.
Cabin was awesome.
Group of us went up to enjoy a night skiing and we're quickly disappointed. We showed up there were dirty floors, hastily made bed, dirty refrigerator and the bathroom downstairs was not functioning. Try contacting the homeowner and she was unavailable. Overall the property has not been maintained well especially for the price per night. The biggest benefit to staying here is they will do a two night minimum. On our departure we read the check out instructions and quickly realize that we had to clean the floors remove all the linens and wash all of the towels. We were a little confused as to what the $150 cleaning fee was for. Again we contacted the owner and no response. When we return home we contacted the owner again and still no response.
My family enjoyed a long ski weekend at this cabin and had a great time. With easy access to the mountain we were able to shuttle people back and forth to accommodate different ski schedules, lunches, etc. The hot tub was a nice treat at the end of a day on the mountain. The listing is accurate and as pictured. Shelli was easy to work with and responded quickly to any inquiries. The house has great views from the wrap-around deck and would be a fun spot in the summer as well.
My friends and I had a wonderful NYE in our (big) cabin in the woods. Powderhorn is walking distance, yet you still feel secluded. The house has a great kitchen for cooking your own meals and entertaining. And the hot tub--so nice after a long day on the hill. We will return to this house. Thanks, Shelli!
The layout of the home was very convienient for our large family. We enjoyed the game room downstairs and relaxing in the hot tub.
Our home is about 45 Mins from Grand Junction Airport and Local Shopping in Grand Junction. Powderhorn is just 3 miles south of the town of Mesa, and about 5 miles from the top of the Grand Mesa.
