About Ben & Jacqui

We live in the San Francisco Bay Area and have been traveling to Hawaii for years. We were married in Maui and bought our condo on the big island in 2009. Our two kids love going to Hawaii for vacations and hanging out at the beach and the pool, as well as enjoying all of the other wonderful places to see and visit on the big island.

Ben & Jacqui purchased this condo in 2009

Why Ben & Jacqui chose Kohala Coast

Waikoloa Beach Villas is one of the newest properties located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort. The resort area includes the Hilton and the Marriott resort hotels and has many amenities nearby to enjoy. So, whether it's the beach, golf, restaurants, or shopping, hanging out by the pool, or seeing the sights of the big island, Waikoloa is a great location. The entire Kohala coast is one of the sunniest parts of island and always makes for a great getaway.

Our condo is our second home and we treat it that way - furnishing and decorating it in a way that's more comfortable and inviting then and a condo which has been purchased and set up exclusively for rentals. We want our guests to feel relaxed and enjoy our place as much as we do. We want to get to know our guests and hope that people will come back to enjoy the property.

Sunset Golf Course Views from Lanai with Outdoor Kitchen!

We already have next year reserved.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for the month of January and wish it could have been longer. Everything was just as presented and Ben was responsive to any questions, concerns, and requests. There are beautiful beaches in the area and Ben has the beach tools you'll need to enjoy them to the fullest, including beach chairs, umbrellas and boogie boards. We spent time at Hapuna Beach and Mauna Kea, we found going early worked best. Mauna Kea resort provides access, but parking is limited. The kitchen is equipped with most of the tools you could need for cooking and the grill on the lanai is great for barbecuing. We stopped in Kona and picked up milk and eggs before we traveled to the condo. There are some cooking supplies left by previous visitors, so it is nice not to duplicate what is already there. There is a Wal Mart, Safeway, and a Target store in Kona for groceries. We actually found great prices and selection at the Safeway and Target stores. Wal Mart was somewhat over shopped. Queen's Market is located across the street and the grocery store has most of what you will need but is more expensive. We played nine holes of twilight golf up at Waikoloa Village for a very reasonable price with cart several times, it is worth checking out. We aren't great golfers, so it was perfect for us. We needed a good internet connection for a few days of work and it was available. Overall, our stay good not have been nicer.

Very nice!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September. First off, the Beach Villas complex is one of the nicest in the resort. It is lushly landscaped, clean and beautifully maintained. We have stayed in a number of other units within the complex over the past few years and while all were nice this was one of the best. It is clean, well furnished and everything is extremely well organized. Everything worked flawlessly during our stay and while we didn't need to contact Ben for anything, he made it clear that he was readily available should we have any questions or anything arise. We highly recommend it....thumbs up from us.

Great Location, Immaculate, and Overall Great Place, you will not be dissappointed

  • 5 of 5

I have rented condos in the Waikoloa area, but can say that Ben's place is amazing and you will not be disappointing with your experience. First of all, Ben is very thorough, communicative, and gives you a sense that you will be taken care of ; and indeed you will. In addition, this condo is at one of the "newer" complexes there and has been kept up to date and is immaculate. There is everything you can think of you will need there so all you need to do is show up and have a great time. The location is right across the Queen's Shops which is very convenient. We have also stayed at other condos within the Waikoloa area, but I can say that this is one is very clean and impressive. We are from the Big Island, but have since relocated to the mainland. Whenever we go back to visit family, we like to stay in the Waikoloa area as a getaway from the traffic and busy downtown area. Waikoloa is a great area to call home base if you are going to visit the many sites on the Big Island. It is always sunny, warm, and the beach is nearby.

Amazing place

  • 5 of 5

This is the first we rented a condo in this area. I was really blown away how nice the condo is, how close it is to restaurants and shopping area, and how much the owner was helpful with all our requests. In fact, he provided a lot of beach gears that we did not have to buy anything. The place is just few minutes alway from the best beaches in the island.

We were able to go to all major attractions in the big island with ease. my wife and son are already starting to plan on how to go back soon.

Amazing stay on the Big Island!

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd time to the Big Island, and the first time my husband and I rented a condo.

We had an amazing time, and the condo was perfect location in terms of weather, proximity to the best beaches, shops and restaurants. It is a bit of a drive to Volcano National Park, but we just made that a one-day trip. While it is not on the beach, the location was perfect for us as we spent most of our time outside of the place as there is so much to do on the BI.

The condo itself was amazing- I thought it would be nice from the pictures, but it far exceeded our expectations. It was reallly well-stocked, from the pantry with spices, to the beach equipment (boogies boards, beach mats, snorkel gear, chairs) and lots of towles! We loved the bbq on the lanai, so even the rainy day we could just hang out there. It was also very clean and tidy when we go there, and we loved every minute of our stay. It was just the 2 of us, so we had ample space.

We hope to be back to Hawaii in the future and definitely would rent this place again.

Four weeks wasn't enough . . .one more week would have worked!

  • 5 of 5

We had been looking forward to our stay since I booked the condo with Ben back in March. Ben was extremely amicable via our email conversations and answered many questions to help make our decision to rent with him. This place is a find! The location in Waikoloa is about darned perfect; the location of the condo w/in the Waikoloa Beach Villas is darned perfect is relation to the pool and entrance. It was extremely quiet, no road noise. When you look at Ben's website, what you see is what you gewhich is not always the fact. Ben & Jacqui have decorated the condo is a very attractive manner; it lets you know you're in Hawaii but doesn't scream at you in obnoxious colors or prints. The master bed was very comfortable (as was the second room bed; someone was snoring and it wasn't the husband). Linens were plush. Scented soaps, shampoo and conditioner were provided. We loved the lanai. Having a built-in grill is worth $$, especially when your husband is a bbq master. For those interested in fresh fish, head up to Kawaihae to Da Fish House. You can even call ahead & find out what has come in that morning, tell them how much you want, and they'll cut it up and save it for you until closing time. We ate every single meal on the lanai if we weren't out on a beach. The teak table was very attractive; the whole lanai with its granite was attractive! I guess we're easily entertained because we'd sit out and watch the golfers -- and laugh -- especially when we saw them ducking into sprinklers or moving their golf balls. The little high table in the kitchen was perfect for setting up a laptop and having it out of the way. The second story is just perfect; the elevator made it extremely easy for the move-in/move-out or major grocery shopping trips. The kitchen had good pots and pans and plenty of glass and/or plastic glasses; attractive plates and very nice to have placemats and coasters. Everything in the condo was in very good condition. If there was a blip, all it took was an email to Ben & he was immediately responsive which was so appreciated. He truly cares about this condo as a second family home. A Bay is a great place to SUP if you're into that. Plenty of walking can be done around the area. Especially if you have children, Spencer Beach Park, just ten minutes north, is more sheltered. Ben & Jacqui have done a great job of providing coolers, beach chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and more. Thank you for making our stay GREAT & memorable.
