About Fred and Geri Pompeo

Just a couple of folks from New England yearning to move to this wonderful City of Saint Augustine.

Why Fred and Geri Pompeo chose Downtown Historic District

We bought in St A with the intention of retiring here someday. After debating whether to purchase at the beach or downtown we decided on downtown when we learned that you can drive and park on the sand at the beach - making it easy to go to the beach - so downtown was it. This home was picked because it was the perfect size, all rooms on one floor and so close to everything downtown that we could walk to and from places with ease. Plus it had a great front porch! It was rented full time for awhile until our daughter, when looking at colleges, figured out it was a great place to live while she attended Flagler College. So it worked out well for her. Now we visit occasionally and offer it to others to enjoy as they visit St A - until the time comes we retire here permanently.

Perfect weekend with family in a charming house in a great location

Wonderful house - location great! My son is in PT school in St Augustine and I've stayed at beach and hotels, but this was a great change especially since I had my mother and brother with me. Spacious inside but we loved the porch- coffee in the mornings and wine at night. We could walk anywhere downtown and then meet back at the house. This was really a fabulous weekend and the house added the convenience too. House is just so charming and so much character. Highly recommend!!!

The house was clean, attractively furnished, and very pleasant.

We were pleased with the quality and condition of the property. The location was fantastic. We were able to walk to restaurants and the historic district. Access to the Bridge of Lions and the beaches was quick and easy.

Great location, quaint, and clean!

We loved our stay here!! We have been to St. Augustine several times and his was our first VRBO. The house was clean, they had everything that we needed and the owners were very responsive. I can't say enough good things about this place! I will definitely recommend it to our family that visits the area! Thank you!!

Wonderful bungalow

The home is beautiful and very comfortable for an extended stay. You cannot beat the location. The owners were so helpful and kind. We had to cut our stay short because of hurricane Irma. I hope that Saint Augustine will be spared from the worst of it.

Nice bungalow close to where you want to be

Renovated bungalow, well-appointed, nice big rooms, AC works well in hot, humid conditions. Very close to Castille de San Marcos and Flagler College. Worked out well and accommodated our party of six without difficulty. A good alternative for anyone wanting to be in the historic district, but doesn't want or can't (small children) stay in a B&B. This is a real house, so it has a few quirks, nicks and such, but that didn't impact our stay. Beds were comfortable, kitchen large and amply equipped, and the cable worked great. Would definitely return to this little bungalow for our next trip to St. Augustine.

Our home is a short walk to Downtown attractions, Restaurants, Historic Sites, Waterfront, Art Galleries, Churches, Boating, Fishing, San Sebastion Winery, Chocolate Candy factory, and Sightseeing excursions on the Bay. Also free music festivals downtown, occasional firework displays, theaters - both stage and screen. The beach is just a short drive and parking is allowed on the sand.
