Great vacation

  • 4 of 5

The house worked out perfect for our family of 5. Enjoyed the boat very much, however the prop was pretty beat up which didn't allow for high speed.

We had a couple of small issues - tv remotes didn't work in the basement and master bedroom and the gas grill didn't work. But, the owners responded very quickly to solve the issues and we had a replacement grill in about 4 hours.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we'll come back in the future.

Cannot wait to come back next year! The house is amazing and offers you all of the creature comforts of being at home, while still having that secluded lake house feeling! Amy was great to work with and I would highly recommend this home to anyone that is looking!

Nice house, lovely view, helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

This was our seventh time staying at this Lake Sinissippi home. We're a group of friends who return each spring for an annual trip to Wisconsin. Each of our seven trips has been wonderful.

Most importantly, the house is spacious, clean, quiet, and sleeps 10 comfortably. The kitchen is very well stocked, the grill is easy to use, and the hot tub is an excellent addition.

We keep returning to this home because it is so well stocked for a weekend of fun. With a basketball hoop, bean bag toss, canoe, wide lawn, hot tub, satellite television, and lake frontage -- there is plenty to do to keep a large group occupied.

Finally, we keep returning because the owners are very easy to work with. They've always been very responsive, friendly, and helpful.

Perfect for Our Annual Girls Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This house offered wonderful views of the lake from the living room, deck and dining area. The beds were comfortable. We found the property to be clean and well maintained and would not hesitate to return. We had the fish fry at the Lake Street Inn in Hustisford. Service and food were great! For breakfast we went to Joan's Country Cookin. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was mixed reviews from the group on the food. Those that ordered hash-browns felt they were not served hot enough. We shopped at the Mercantile in Hustisford. They offered a variety of jewelry, clothing and small gift items. Robin's Countryside Gardens in Iron Ridge WI had a large assortment of yard art, candles and gift items. Confections by Joel in Theresa had a great variety of candies and wine. We also went to Honey Acres in Neosho. It is a museum and honey shop. Museum and honey tasting is free. Everyone was very welcoming. The owners/property managers were very responsive and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Nice property with bad experience

  • 2 of 5

Where do I begin. The property was very nice. All the bedrooms were good size and on the same level along with an open kitchen area and dining/living room. The pontoon boat was great and Troy who helps out is very nice.

What makes me give this vacation weekend such a bad rating is the following:

The neighbors to the right of the property constantly threatened us that we were on their property when clearly we weren't. They literally walked over from a mile away to make sure to tell us this all day everyday. Eventually it came to a boiling point when it no longer became a relaxing vacation and erupted into an argument with the neighbors calling the Sheriff. Clearly we did nothing wrong and the sheriffs understood. *What you have are neighbors who are pissed that this place gets rented every weekend and don't like it.

The well water stinks and either you deal with it or in our case make sure you have plenty of bottled water

The lake is disgusting a filled with muck. It's thick mud muck

The owners decided to call an exterminator to come out the weekend we are there to fix a bee problem. What that did was irritate them even more and we had bee's flying all around the deck. Couldn't they wait till we left or find some other time.

The owner also rang the doorbell and asked to come into the unit to fix the water spout on the sink. **We never called him to come over** . Not professional to come into the house while we're still there on our vacation.

Lastly, we got nickeled and dime for our security deposit. They took money away from having dog hair on the boat (we did pay an extra $100 for having dogs there) and additional money for dirt in the hot tub. Not sure how you control dirt from feet especially when it rained most of the days but leads me to another question. Do they not clean it for the next renters? Is this not normal use? This is all very petty stuff that makes our experience never wanting to return and be cautious to others. How about an apology for what we had to deal with regarding the neighbors and the other points mentioned above. I was skeptical about writing a review to begin with but at this point others need to be aware and not make the same mistake.

Owner's Response: We appreciate the feedback, and are committed to providing a positive experience and environment for all our guests. Our cleaning and pet fees are intended to cover normal use and wear that the home will incur as a result of the presence of people and pets. It does not cover excessive charges, and in this specific case there was excessive cleaning required inside the home, on the cover and in the hot tub (of note, the wine opener was left at the bottom of the tub as well as bottle caps in and outside the hot tub, posing a hazard), and on the boat, mainly due to the pets. For this we held back $60 deposit for the 2 plus hours of additional labor to remedy. The guests were charged an initial pet fee of $60, not $100 as they stated. There has been an ongoing dispute over property ownership and access rights on the particular strip of land between our property and the neighbors. Our guests allowed their dogs to be outdoors unleashed and their dogs wandered into the neighbor's yard, which should not have been allowed. We have since met with the neighbors and city officials to clarify the property access questions, and there shouldn't be issues going forward.
