Recently rebuilt beautiful home is located on Lake Sinissippi in southern Wisconsin. Modern updates include an open floor plan, skylights, new kitchen and appliances, new bathrooms, a Trex deck and 75 foot pier, soaring ceilings and 2 walls of windows exposing panoramic southern and western views of the lake, as well as new bamboo flooring throughout main living area. The 3 bedrooms are tastefully appointed with quality bedding and ceiling fans. The finished walkout lower level includes 4 bunk beds, a sitting area with TV, washer and dryer, and a bar. Lake Sinissippi is a 2900 acre lake with several islands. It offers the excitement of water sports or quietly exploring the lake in our canoe or fishing. Guests also have the option of bringing their own boat or personal water craft to launch in the public landing. On land, there are plenty of activities such as hiking, biking, star gazing, bonfires, fireworks, or exquisite sunsets. Witness an explosion of fall foliage surrounding the lake or relax on a crisp evening by our fire pit located near the shoreline. Wood is provided by owners.
New Pontoon Boat: Brand new 2012 Sylvan 20' pontoon boat with 40 hp Mercury motor available Spring 2012. Too many people asked about renting a pontoon so we decided to help out! Rental rate is $795 per week plus a $400 security deposit for a new pontoon boat. This compares to rentals in the area for $1,200 per week on average. 'You will not be disappointed! The pontoon is equipped with a tow rope to pull a tube which we have available. All life jackets, bumpers, tow lines, and toys included! There is nothing better than a nice sunset cruise on the lake!
You have access to our private pier! Only our pontoon boat is on a lift with an L shaped dock and with a 50'+ pier along the shoreline.
This house offered wonderful views of the lake from the living room, deck and dining area. The beds were comfortable. We found the property to be clean and well maintained and would not hesitate to return. We had the fish fry at the Lake Street Inn in Hustisford. Service and food were great! For breakfast we went to Joan's Country Cookin. The staff were friendly and welcoming. There was mixed reviews from the group on the food. Those that ordered hash-browns felt they were not served hot enough. We shopped at the Mercantile in Hustisford. They offered a variety of jewelry, clothing and small gift items. Robin's Countryside Gardens in Iron Ridge WI had a large assortment of yard art, candles and gift items. Confections by Joel in Theresa had a great variety of candies and wine. We also went to Honey Acres in Neosho. It is a museum and honey shop. Museum and honey tasting is free. Everyone was very welcoming. The owners/property managers were very responsive and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this property.
Where do I begin. The property was very nice. All the bedrooms were good size and on the same level along with an open kitchen area and dining/living room. The pontoon boat was great and Troy who helps out is very nice.
What makes me give this vacation weekend such a bad rating is the following:
The neighbors to the right of the property constantly threatened us that we were on their property when clearly we weren't. They literally walked over from a mile away to make sure to tell us this all day everyday. Eventually it came to a boiling point when it no longer became a relaxing vacation and erupted into an argument with the neighbors calling the Sheriff. Clearly we did nothing wrong and the sheriffs understood. *What you have are neighbors who are pissed that this place gets rented every weekend and don't like it.
The well water stinks and either you deal with it or in our case make sure you have plenty of bottled water
The lake is disgusting a filled with muck. It's thick mud muck
The owners decided to call an exterminator to come out the weekend we are there to fix a bee problem. What that did was irritate them even more and we had bee's flying all around the deck. Couldn't they wait till we left or find some other time.
The owner also rang the doorbell and asked to come into the unit to fix the water spout on the sink. **We never called him to come over** . Not professional to come into the house while we're still there on our vacation.
Lastly, we got nickeled and dime for our security deposit. They took money away from having dog hair on the boat (we did pay an extra $100 for having dogs there) and additional money for dirt in the hot tub. Not sure how you control dirt from feet especially when it rained most of the days but leads me to another question. Do they not clean it for the next renters? Is this not normal use? This is all very petty stuff that makes our experience never wanting to return and be cautious to others. How about an apology for what we had to deal with regarding the neighbors and the other points mentioned above. I was skeptical about writing a review to begin with but at this point others need to be aware and not make the same mistake.
Great comfortable and clean house with a wonderful view of the lake. And having a boat to use made the trip the best! Spent three afternoons at the Horicon Marsh bicycling and one afternoon in Oshkosh at the EEA AirVenture museum wich was wonderful!
We stayed at this property the first week in July and have mixed feelings about it:
Pros: Nice view of water from the patio
Pontoon rental option-which we took
advantage of-lake was not crowded
Main level beds were comfortable
Netflix with large TV in living area
Plenty of towels (no washcloths)
Speedy return of damage deposit(s)
Windows were filthy with hand prints and dead bugs when we arrived; we needed to clean the patio and entry doors/windows to enjoy the view (there was no window cleaning solution available on the property--had to provide our own)
Living room furniture was dingy and needed to be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner upon arrival (large amount of food debris, toys and papers found under cushions)
A good portion of the kitchen bamboo flooring is buckling-visible and can feel under your feet even with shoes on
Patio was left with a very greasy grill and food debris on floor and table
We could not use the hot tub; water was murky and there was sand on all of the seats; pH & parts per million was off the charts
Bathroom rugs (washable) were not clean and stairway carpeting was visibly stained and matted
Property manager and owner were called with our findings/concerns. (Owner had used the property prior to our arrival and felt it was cleaned and ready for us). I was told by the owner my standards were too high and the property is heavily used--no time for deep cleaning (of carpets, etc). I was also told I would be compensated for us needing to clean--this did not happen. The property has potential to be five stars if it is maintained and cleaned properly. Guests should not have to spend the first few hours of their stay cleaning when they arrive.
We so enjoyed our stay on Lake Sinissippi! Growing up in the area it brought back a flood of memories. The property was clean, well kept, and stocked with so many amenities. There was plenty of room for our group of 10, six adults and five children. It was close to our family, shopping, and activities. We met our neighbors who were so friendly, it was like they were welcoming us back home!
Our family of 5 had originally booked a lake house on Castle Rock Lake, but the owners decided to sell the property so we were scrambling to find another location. Let me just say, we are so happy the first location fell through! We could not have had a better time on beautiful Lake Sinnissippi!! First, the house is super clean and very spacious. We could have had another entire family stay and we would have plenty of room. 2.5 bathrooms?? Outstanding! Very comfortable beds and the kids enjoyed the bunk beds in the walkout. The weather was just a touch on the chilly side at the beginning of our stay so we took advantage of the hot tub. Very relaxing! (Just one suggestion - a net to scoop up debris that gets in there especially with the kids in/out/in/out). Perfect back yard with basketball hoop and outdoor games. Great dock for fishing - kids caught enough to have a competition for first place. If you can get past the silt bottom, this is a great swimming lake. Not deep which is great for kids. And NO weeds. Love it! (And they even have beach towels at the house....really?? Woo hoo!) We rented the owners' beautiful pontoon boat and they have a tube for your use. Was the first time tubing for the kids and they were thrilled! If you want a firmer sand bottom there's great swimming close to some of the islands - super fun!! And don't miss Karen's for srirachia bites and Leroy's meat market for 45 different types of brats - awesome! Owners are a pleasure and neighbors couldn't have been nicer. We'll be back!!! Oh and the fastest refund on our deposits that I've ever seen....just a little icing on the cake;)
