This vacation rental is oceanfront, ground floor, easy access, only 27 stepping stones through the white sand dunes to the ocean. A spacious living room with an open floor plan and oceanside exposure. We are located just south of main beach so no vehicles are allowed except lifeguards between you and the water. Mature, single woman had a delightful 2 months stay in this cozy, relatively secluded apartment. Rarely locked the door. The many south facing windows are wonderful. If you are looking for high-falooting this isn't your place. If your looking for a comfortable fun place on the ocean with "old Florida" charm this is it. Owners who live above couldn't have been better. I hope to come back.
This is the most relaxing place I've ever been. The apartment is just perfect for a beach cottage - I walked in and immediately felt at home. You have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. It's so peaceful -- not the typical noise found in an oceanside community. Great restaurants nearby and downtown historic Fernandina is a short drive. If you go, make sure you visit Fort Clinch and the other historic sites.
This is an excellent vacation home-away-from-home. The house is a wonderful beach house in a quiet area and has all of the necessities. There's a lot to do in Historic Fernandina and the surrounding area. A neighbor recommended Cedar River Seafood and it was excellent. We also enjoyed the Salty Pelican. St. Mary's, Georgia is a short drive to the north. We can't wait until we can go here again!
After getting discouraged because we were unable to find a place on the beach within our budget, we came across a website for this rental. You honestly cannot beat the price, especially with the location. You are literally on the beach! A few steps over a sand dune and there's the beach! The sound at night is wonderful! The owner, lives with her husband and dogs above you, but you would never know they are there. They are very respectable of their guests quite and privacy. Yet, if you need something, she's there. The house is beautiful and has everything you would need to be comfortable. We hope to rent from her for many summers to come!
While on Amelia Island, we recommend Island Falls Putt-Putt, the Crab Trap Restaurant, Fort Clinch Pier & Museum, DeNucci's Ice Cream, and although slightly off of the island, Murray's Grille is superb and well worth a stop!
We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was in this home. We highly recommend it to anyone! The owner goes out of her way to accommodate!
We had a great time here. The house was clean & comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. It felt like home. Hope to come back next year. Would definitely recommend this property.
My family loves staying at this beach house. We are a family of 4 with younger kids & it is perfect for us. The large windows in the living room are nice. It is always clean and Mrs. Sass is very friendly and accomodating. We will continue to stay here every years and make wonderful memories with our children.
Historic Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island is only 40 minutes from the Jacksonville Airport (JAX) and surrounded by water. The eastern edge has white pristine sand separating your home away from the Atlantic Ocean. Two miles to the west is the Amelia River and the Cumberland Sound separating you from the mainland. Enjoy Ft. Clinch State park, fishing, kayaking, specialty cruises, tennis, golf, horseback riding, hiking the wilderness of Egan's Creek Greenway. Bicycle or walk to downtown where you can visit the musuem and old jail house, shop for antiques or the newest in fashion, ride on a horse drawn carriage or take a tour of our lighthouse. We have many local restaurants, hidden gems from gourmet dining to local haunts. Enjoy one or more of our local theaters for drama & comedy, art and music or just come to relax on the beach. Everyone will take away memories that will last a lifetime. Fernandina Beach is a place you will want to come back to again and again
Other Activities: kayaking, wildlife viewing, miniature golf, skate park, basketball courts, bike to anyplace on the Island
